Cashaa August 2018 Wrap-Up!

It’s been more than two years since we entered the blockchain industry with a vision to digitalize the banking infrastructure. Let’s have a look over the initiatives taken in the month of August 2018!

CAS Token Updates

From 8 August, we distributed our monthly PoS tokens: 7777 Addresses who have been allocated a maximum PoS bonus of 231,026,480.9 CAS based on a stake of 321,168,948.9 CAS have received their monthly installment of 31,848,139.17 CAS. Details can be found HERE.

Product & Partnership Updates

We have now completed our 3rd sprint — to date, the following sprints were completed in the recent weeks:

Sprint Apple: UX for onboarding process and dashboard; integration in JHipster framework; KYC verification on mobile and web; CashaaPay for BTC (enables to receive confirmation from the blockchain and post it into the Cashaa platform; create BTC addresses, send and receive BTC payments) and ERC20 (same for ERC20 tokens)
Sprint Blueberry: Individual onboarding, deposit crypto
Sprint Cherry: Business-pre-ICO-onboarding
All the sprints were followed by a demo to the board and leadership team to include their feedback.

Concerning banking partnerships, we have completed our applications and received the commercials for 2 potential partners, and are now in the process of evaluating and including them in our business plan to be able to make the final decision.

We have also signed up a new KYC vendor which has a wider coverage which better suits the needs of our future customers, the ICO companies.

On 4 August, Kumar Gaurav discussed about “Banks — Future of Payments with Cryptocurrencies” at one of the most anticipated blockchain events of 2018, International Blockchain Congress Hyderabad. Besides Kumar, international renowned blockchain experts as well as numerous Indian government representatives shared their views at this conference which was co-organized by NITI Aayog, Government of Telangana, Government of Goa together with Nucleus.Vision.

Stellargold & KitToken: More Token Sales accepting CAS!

Dear Cashaa Family,

Exciting news! CAS token is getting accepted by an increasing number of token sales.

Following our announcement about The Times Group backed Bubblo accepting CAS, two more token sales have now announced that they’ll follow suit!

KitToken, an ambitious cryptocurrency company based in Malaysia and Singapore that aims to create a financial ecosystem wherein Kit Tokens (KIT) will be used both as a currency and as a long term dividend-gaining entity, has announced during its official launch at the World Blockchain Summit in Singapore that it will accept CAS in its token sale that commenced on the 20th of July 2018.

Cashaa July 2018 Wrap-Up!
Dear Cashaa Family,

Another great month passed with new achievements, our regulator friendly approach is helping CAS token to become a key for regulated banking platform. — let’s get to know Cashaa’s progress over the past weeks!

CAS Token Updates

From June 8 on, we distributed the monthly PoS tokens to the existing CAS holders:

7995 addresses which have a stake of 351,776,879.1 CAS who have been allocated a maximum PoS bonus of 223,059,099 CAS received their monthly installment of 31,863,418.13 CAS. Details can be found HERE.

Crypto Businesses are realising the importance of CAS token, after we gave its detailed utility. This resulted in three ICOs in July who started accepting CAS token in their ICO.

Following the partnership announcement with Times Group-backed discovery app Bubblo on 13 July, 2 more token sales, Stellargold and KitToken announced on 22 July that they’ll be accepting CAS tokens. Soon we can see a plethora of ICOs that will start using the CAS token in their ICO to get access to the banking system through Cashaa. Crypto businesses based in Europe and UK who can satisfy our compliance policies will get a IBAN (international bank account) through Cashaa.

Concerning exchange listings, we had 2 great news this month: On July 2, CAS got listed on CoinExMarket, which is a worldwide cryptocurrency and token trading platform. This allowed traders to exchange CAS against BTC, ETH, LTC, DOGE, XRP, OMG, TRON, BCH and USDT, adding the greatest variety of pairs so far.

Furthermore, on 30 July, Australian Cryptocurrency Exchange-platform, TopBTC listed CAS for trading against ETH. It offers trading services via API / Web trading platform with zero withdrawal and deposit fees.

Furthermore, on 31 July we had a successful meeting with OEX in our Mumbai office, which agreed to list us in August.

Aside exchanges, CAS tokens on 11 July also got listed on Singapore based e-commerce site, MegaXstore, which has over 200 brands and a wide range of over 20,000 products and over 25,000 customers, and listed CAS tokens as one of the modes of payments, following a voting competition which we won with 80 % thanks to the votes of our community — again, many thanks for that!

Thus, it’s predictable that CAS is going to gain more popularity in near future. So far, it has already made its way to major exchange sites, medical sector, e-commerce sector, food industry and very soon it is expected to make greater impact in some more potential areas.

Product Updates

The above named ICOs accepting CAS shows a major step for Cashaa as it also means ICO companies welcoming and lining up for our new features, which we announced on our new website — Cashaa will launch a hybrid banking service, enabling to seamlessly manage crypto and fiat, offering ICO companies and other businesses in the crypto sphere highly sought-after business banking facilities, which will be our new focus, in addition to our previously announced services for individuals.

As announced before, any token sale looking to meet compliance requirements according to banking standards, will also be able to use our API to embed Cashaa compliance policies. To improve the processes while maintaining our high standards, we are now in process of adding more providers in addition to our existing one.

The technology team has presented its first sprint (Apple) to the leadership team, including the onboarding process’ UX and its integration into the JHipster application framework, the KYC verification on mobile app and web, as well as the Bitcoin and ERC 20 payment modules which will be used in the Cashaa banking application.

Now the team is working on the second sprint (Blueberry), including onboarding of individuals and crypto deposits, and started planning the third sprint (Cherry) for onboarding businesses and transferring crypto.

Partnerships

Our legal team has completed and submitted the applications for two EMI partners, one of which already gave an in-principle go-ahead and started the formal onboarding process.

The application for the 3rd potential banking partner, as well as for the FCA license (Financial Conduct Authority, UK), is in progress.

On July 5, we announced our partnership with Dental Konnect, a technology driven firm focused over using AI for predicting one’s oral health, which is now looking at blockchain applications in the health sector, and has started to accept CAS tokens.

On July 20, we have announced the African Payments Alliance, led by Simo Mcunu, VP Sales (Africa), in which we are bringing together African financial services companies to have a financial blockchain consortium in Africa, which will help all members involved to use each other’s capabilities and solve the ground reality of Africa for financial inclusion by creating a synergy between our services and our partners’ local knowledge and experience.

On July 11, Kumar Gaurav, Founder & CEO of Cashaa, discussed about “What can be replaced by blockchain technology?” at FICCI Blockchain Innovation Summit, New Delhi,

Together with representatives from PwC, Government of West Bengal, Government of Uttar Pradesh, XINFIN, Ayushman Bharath, Standard Chartered Bank and KPMG, among others.

On that occasion, we also organised a community meetup in New Delhi, where our wonderful local community members had the chance to learn all the latest directly from Kumar.

Kumar was also invited as VIP guest to one of the annual flagship event of the Entrepreneur India and Asia Pacific’s Annual Convention, Entrepreneur 2018, 17 July, New Delhi, focused over bringing emerging business tycoons under one roof and share their business practices to create sustainable enterprises; fellow VIP guests including Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister & Cabinet Minister of Delhi as well as representatives from HSBC India, Government of Telangana, among others.

Now, Kumar has headed to Hyderabad to speak at one of the most anticipated blockchain events of the year 2018, International Blockchain Congress Hyderabad, 4 August, 4.40–5.10 pm, about “Banks — Future of Payments with Cryptocurrencies”. Kumar’s Communication Strategy for Community

Dear Cashaa Family,

I am very proud of having such a wonderful community from which many great initiatives are coming to create a next generation banking platform. Blockchain revolution has done a great job in combining the ecosystem of Investor, team and customer in one ecosystem to progress the company as community where everyone is looking for token growth. But sometimes, in absence of information, things which are not true lead to FUD. I would like to make use of this opportunity to address some FUD which keeps coming back and come up with a communication strategy plan to avoid it.

Why CAS is not on big Exchanges?
Exchanges list tokens when they notice that community wants to trade them. We have more than 8000 CAS token holders who registered for POS reward which means we have around 8000 active users. I request you to please be active on social media and participate in the voting, referral process and help get CAS listed on the exchanges. If community is not proactive on social media, then company is left with no other choice but to pay millions of dollars, which is not possible for a company like CASHAA whose main vision is to build the product and avoid pumping and dumping of tokens by listing on big exchanges. We believe in the organic growth of our token, instead of boosting it with fake steroids. This will give all of us the opportunity to communicate our message to many other people who can buy the tokens for cheap before CAS gets listed on bigger exchanges.

2. Why Cashaa does not have Viral Marketing ?

I have to accept Cashaa is not doing any marketing, and people who bought CAS token during the Token sale know this, we did not have Youtube videos with girls or futuristic animation videos of creating a hi fi technology, neither banner ads all over the internet running with promising returns. Now, some have been wondering why we are not having big advertising initiatives running which can give us more exposure. As a company which wants to be regulated, all such initiatives can backfire on Cashaa and can jeopardize the main vision. So it’s better Cashaa focuses on building the product and leaves advertising to the community until our product is out.

If we see in history no legitimate project required viral marketing, the product itself needs to speak and the community has to drive the adoption and marketing. Does Bitcoin do viral marketing? Does Ethereum run the banner for promising returns? No, the community believed in the product and after a level, the world realized that what has been built is amazing, then the price skyrocketed.

I feel funny how token sales have now a solution and are trying to find a problem for it and are doing token sales vs Cashaa which is solving one of the biggest problems which the crypto community has, the lack of bank accounts with the ability to make Bitcoin spendable to bridge the old and new money. Companies doing an ICO are not getting bank accounts in the absence of not following proper compliance, and this is the problem Cashaa is solving.

Also, I am glad to see that the Litecoin Foundation finally coming up as a competition to Cashaa, by acquiring a stake in a European bank. This is a good news as I personally believe we need more projects like Cashaa who understood the serious need for a banking solution for crypto and are able to do it in a regulated and compliant way.

3. Github Code?

Furthermore, we as a community many times also encounter questions such as why our source code is not up on Github like other open source projects. The answer is simple:

When it comes to companies who want to be in a regulated market (banks, insurance, trading) it is even more complicated due to regulations. Do we have Ripple source code on Github, do we have Binance code out, NO. But as a Cashaa CEO, I understand that our community is our strength, and we need to keep them informed. Also, as Cashaa now has dedicated teams working on parallel tasks, we all meet weekly and combine our tasks and update each other. I proposed to my Board that we also create a view for our community members and pass on this information so that the community feels informed about each activity happening in Cashaa. I am also proud to say that now Cashaa has its own team of developers on Cashaa’s payroll and not taking technology services from other companies. We will be responsible for our own success without depending on other companies.

The new communication strategy will help the community to know the entire team and get familiar. Also, it’s good to be aware that I am not the only person working on Cashaa, but there are many more experienced people from huge banks and Fortune 500 companies that are working towards the Cashaa goals.

Monthly Cashaa Update

After each month I will keep you updated about the overall monthly development in key areas. This will be an article, video glimpse with Live/recorded video call with me to answer the community questions.

These meetings will keep us updated on the overall health of the project and progress in each department, and if they are able to identify any gaps before it’s late.

Cashaa is following agile methodology and following best practises set by Priyakant, Shibu and Dhanasekaran who come from leading financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies. The team is doing every week a technical Sprint, where the developers and team leaders case the technical developments and report to each other on the progress made in their respective area.

In the bi-weekly “Sprint Technical updates”, we’ll bring the community the insides of this meeting with live videos to show the technical development happening against each milestone. Each tech leader will showcase what he/she did in the last one week and what are his/her next deliverables to make sure we are following our release timeline.

Stellargold & KitToken: More Token Sales accepting CAS!

Exciting news! CAS token is getting accepted by an increasing number of token sales.

Following our announcement about The Times Group backed Bubblo accepting CAS, two more token sales have now announced that they’ll follow suit!

Cashaa announces African Payments Alliance!

We are delighted to announce that Cashaa has announced the African Payments Alliance, alongside African Fintech start-ups Maxi Cash App and Omanye Money.

Founded by Kumar Gaurav, The African Payments Alliance brings together mid and late stage African financial services companies as an authoritative financial Blockchain consortium in Africa. “The main vision is to use each other’s capability and implement Blockchain technology developed by European bank Cashaa” said Gaurav.

Earlier this month South Africa’s central bank completed a two week proof­ of­ concept programme which settled the country’s 70,000 daily payment transactions within two hours while preserving full anonymity. The trial featured a consortium of banks which included Investec PLC and First National Bank.

South Africa is in the process of implementing regulations for cryptocurrencies which are expected to help cultivate the market. Also Ghana wants to implement a new crypto framework as part of the Payments Systems and Services Bill, following the issuance of its first official digital currency.

Dear Cashaa Family,

On Wednesday 28 June 2018, Kumar Gaurav will be in Kolkata as one of the instructors at a One Day Workshop on Blockchain for the officials of the Government of West Bengal.

Organised by the Munjal Institute for Global Manufacturing (an ISB institute), the workshop aims to provide an overview on blockchain technology and its benefits in governance, followed by example use cases and a discussion.

Kumar will cover blockchain use cases in e-governance including electronic health records, benefits distribution systems and land records.

Blockchain based electronic health records, such as started in Estonia, can reconcile information which today is scattered in various databases, improve information sharing and automate updates across organisations in the health system from data generation to the point of use without relying on human intervention.

An example for a blockchain-based benefits distribution system would include blockchain tokens issued to the beneficiaries who would be able to redeem them for goods and services. This enables tracking of benefits expenditure thereby preventing fraud.

One of the use cases most frequently seen as examples where blockchain technology will benefit is land registry, as it prevents any tampering and ensures that the rightful owners are able to prove their ownership. This has been explored in various countries such as Georgia and Ghana.

Thanks to Kumar’s outstanding blockchain expertise on all these use cases, he was invited as instructor. This enables us to further strengthen our network in India where there are numerous opportunities from government initiatives. There are, for instance, several state governments and corporations currently working with our partner Auxledger. Auxledger has 53 million users, making it the largest private blockchain network worldwide.
