1  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will not perish on: August 22, 2018, 11:19:08 AM
Bitcoin is too resilient to perish though there are fluctuations in the prices on the market. Market will soon stabilize in no time.Do you believe that?
How you say that market will be stable ? There will be no chances for such a thing to happen as long as bitcoin prices are determined by demand and whereas the supply is shrinking half every four years. "Perish" is a new word to me, hence I choosing this topic to learn something but your explanation and question are not interesting and realistic.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling addiction mainly due to loneliness and dissatisfaction? on: August 20, 2018, 11:50:29 AM
some gambling cases could be due to loneliness , but majority don't . people get addicted to drugs to escape away from reality , they don't want to face their troubles in life . So addiction leads to loneliness not the other way ! .
I think this kind of discussion needs a supervision of a suitable specialist not on forums where anyone can say random words.
Random words like the one you said? What a way to set an example, Roll Eyes Do you realize that what you said is contradicting? You said that people get addicted to substance because they want to "escape reality and they don't want to face their troubles in life". This means that they were lonely and afraid in the first place. They have a problem. People cope using drugs and gambling because it's the way they cope with the problems which doesn't really make sense since it only gives you even more problems.
May be some people have the same mentality and believe on it, but I think that it cannot be the main reason for which they start playing gambling. I think that there are a lot of other reasons that make people convince to start playing gambling.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To quit gambling is to quit yourself on: August 20, 2018, 11:12:52 AM
Gambling is a addiction bad addiction. Few days ago I see a user lost 65BTC and another user 30BTC amd another user 12BTC in a dice site. All those user lost huge huge within 24 hours.

But even if we say that it is a bad addiction, a lot of people are still gambling despite the fact that it will really bring you down to the pit. Regret and depression is one of the most popular effect of gambling to people.

Also, these gambler might be rich so they have nothing to worry about those losses. We don't know what they are thinking losing that great amount to the site but all we know is that they had lost and it is hard to get that back.
Because people are usually rich from gambling, in the end the wealth will also run out in gambling, which is why they continue to gamble despite losing a large amount. Unlike the case if you are only looking for targets in gambling, if you are able to control emotions then after you reach the target you will stop, but if your emotions increase and cannot be controlled then you will become a gambling addict too.
I only know about few people who have stopped playing gambling after making a big money and never come back to that field, but I think that such people are very few in this field while the rest of the people even after making a lot of people they never try to quit but want to make and more money from gambling, but it is not so easy from gambling and you can even lose everything you have in your hand.
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Keep all crypto in trading platforms or wallets? on: August 20, 2018, 10:44:01 AM
I use hard storage for most of mine, not much of a trader these days, more so an accumulator. Burned too many times trading, and can sleep at night knowing my money is stored off these exchanges
No doubt, it is risky, but these circumstances always come in every type of business, so trading is also risky, sometime profit wise and some time whenever ban trading.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you use cryptocurrencies in your daily life? Are they useful? on: August 20, 2018, 10:12:14 AM
This and other questions are part of a questionnaire that we, a research team from the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) are doing. It seeks to understand the drivers' usage of cryptocurrencies by the end user such as you and me. Considering 10 different dimensions, from perceived usefulness to privacy to profitability, among others.
It takes on average 3 minutes to answer.

Here is the link for the questionnaire:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/cryptocurrencies_usage

More details if you want to know more about it:
For this, it was created a questionnaire with Likert type scale questions. These dimensions will then be used to construct a model, based on the traditional Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) developed in 1989, and some others developed afterwards, but with more adapted to the cryptocurrencies ecosystem. Then it will be done some data analysis and compilation of results.
This questionnaire has some focus on the financial area, but this does not mean it is the most important. We know there are some other dimensions not being addresses in this questionnaire, such as decentralisation/government influence, that may be addressed in the future.
After analysing and publishing the thesis and papers I will post on this forum with infographics and the most important conclusions of the study.

There are no open questions, but you can post here or message me about this.

Thank you for your time! Best Regards,
The University Institute of Lisbon research team

6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Holds Above $6k on: August 20, 2018, 09:41:31 AM
Is news about alleged manipulation of the Bitcoin price also manipulation?

Read Bokka Crypto Technical Analysis BTC/USD 14.06.18: https://bokka.com/cryptocurrency-news-bitcoin-holds-above-6k
I think, manipulation is existing now in the Bitcoin. There are many big players or big business person behind this dump of Bitcoin. They are starting to accumulate, they are controlling the market that's why big dump happened, and also because of ETF issue, the Bitcoin price falls down to below $6,000.
Actually our profit from bitcoin is total depend on manipulation of bitcoin price, even in all coins we earn from manipulation wise. But it is doing only big whales, we are a small part of this game.
