Sorry if this has already been asked but can someone explain the hash rate and difficulty mentioned on the block chain website. My question is how likely is an individual person with a single computer likely to mine a bitcoin (or 25 if that is the current reward)

I am a new member who would like some help.

I have an electronic amazon gift card that I would like to exchange for bitcoins.

Unfortunately it's for amazon.com or amazon.de which is why I would like to exchange it (I live in the UK and don't speak German).

The card is for 100 EUR on amazon.de or the US dollar equivalent if on amazon.com.

I hope someone can help me.

This is not a con or scam (I'm not even sure how it could be one)

I received the card as a gift and so I just want to convert it to bitcoin.
