1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: March 12, 2014, 01:00:13 AM
Just saw this...  Go get em!!
This coin will be GPU mineable in no time.

Christian

You're the man! Nvidia should pick you up haha.

I've been looking into the newly released HeavyCoin, which uses 4 well known hash functions
(SHA-256, Keccak-512, Grĝestl-512, BLAKE-512) plus a new one called HEFTY1

They claim it's CPU only, which I might actually put to the test.

Christin

Nice that your taking my suggestion Smiley Good luck, i wish i could help, but im still teaching myself. Any tips on C++/CUDA?

The HF engineer in me cries "OMG THAT CABLE LENGTH!". Do you have somewhat shorter USB 3 spec cables to try this with? Maybe some of the nVidia cards are having trouble with signals getting distorted on these long cables.

Christian

Those risers aren't actually using the USB protocol - they're really just simple extension cables with USB ends on them.

the RF engineer in me knows that. The cable length introduces delays, attenuation and nonlinearities that may be well out of spec for the PCIe bus.

I guess that's why you're the designer of this program. I guess i'll stay in school and keep studying computer engineering, maybe i can help you out at some point.

Nevermind, i just looked again and it says scrypt-jane, not scrypt. They use different algorithms so I'm not sure what you should be getting.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 25, 2014, 05:26:52 AM
That looks very close to what you should be getting. At scrypt:2048 you would be getting 50% of what you would usually get for regular scrypt coins such as doge or litecoin.

You might be able to get a little more out of your card if you change some flags, but to make sure, test what you get on regular scrypt coins and divide that by 2.

I've solved by bluescreen problems. Turns out that some overclock made the system unstable. I will stick to stock clocks for now.

Christian

I remember getting errors like this when i got my 770 last summer and replacing my 660 without resetting evga precision.

It seems like your solo mining, so im assuming that you wont see any yays or boos until a block is found, which could be a very very long time at those hash rates.

Did you ever get that 398 panda to reach 100k?

nope, I am still a sad Panda.

Sent! Don't worry! Be happy!
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 17, 2014, 10:56:12 PM
Nope, but like most of the MAX pools out there they are still fixing and adjusting a lot of the code for MAX and it will eventually be fixed. I'll just go back to Middlecoin at that point Smiley
Beside looking at share vs hash rates on the pool it's obvious i'm later to this game then a few people with much higher base hash rates, lol

I could tell you about more MAX pool vulnerabilities, but I've promised someone I won't Wink

Ha! You know too much!

Did you ever get that 398 panda to reach 100k?

What is the best way to overclock Kepler with GPUs?

I don't think there is a "best" way to do it.

What i do is:
1. Get the best configuration possible using cuda miner
2. Set memory clock to the lowest possible point (Mine is -502).
3. Increase the GPU clock by 10.
4. Wait 15 mins to see if you have any errors
5. If no errors or driver crashes go to step 3 else go to step 6.
6. If there are driver crashes or errors reduce gpu clock by 10
7. Profit!

Hey Christian,

Just sent you about .4 MAX, that's all i had after mining it.

Edit: And 48 YAC (Not much, but it's what i had.)

Throwing 830+380 kHash/s from 2 PCs at PandaCoin now (via panda.rocketpool.co.uk). Let's see how this plays out...

Can you please share your bat file Smiley Im getting 105 on my GTX660, started mining this at the launch, only I have 70 000 them now only.

I mined at launch and got lucky. I've got 450k+ coins. I'm not losing anything (in terms of money) so i also want to see how everything plays out.

I guess i should have asked which Panda coin he was talking about... The old or the new "scamcoin".

Edit: Either way, i don't think either of them are profitable. (That's my opinion)
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 15, 2014, 12:54:46 AM
is panda coin profitable?

Not atm from the looks of it

maybe if they get a better exchange

That is the wrong Pandacoin.

The correct one has the tag "PANDA" not "PAND".

They can be found here:

Christian on the other hand deserves it. Feel free to donate to him.

I have been mining LTC on my GTX 560 for the last 48 hours now. I have not seen one penny in my wallet yet! Cudaminer shows my hashrate is 145KH/s

What am I doing wrong?

Probably nothing wrong with what your doing, the difficulty of LTC is actually pretty high. But you should see something if your mining in a pool. If you are solo mining, good luck with that, you'll most likely never(?) find a block.

Also I don't know how much it will be worth on our first exchange, guess that is up to the people trading it, but I'm going to continue to find more exchanges to add the coin to.

You should try coinedup.com, they are pretty good and they are accepting new coins every day.

On a different note the fix I posted above has brought my accept rate to 100%.
Explain this. ;-)

It might be that you are a wizard... BTW check your inbox in a minute.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 04, 2014, 05:43:13 AM
anyone know where to calculate coins generated? i have 5.5mhash vertcoin power(13mhash typical scrypt)

Coins generated? Or estimated coins per day?

Normally you can divide you hash rate in Khash/s by the difficulty of the block ex. 200kh/s / 10 diff = 20 coins per day.

But because of the influx of new miners and thus the increase of difficulty per block it isn't possible to accurately predict it.

Hi,

Is it stable version win 2/2? Can I update my GUIMiner script fork with this build?

I would not just yet. There are a lot of people complaining about losing hashing speed.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: January 31, 2014, 10:32:11 PM
Thanks Bajawah, but thats not what im talking about. I know the hash rate was half of what it should be for other scrypt coins, but what i don't know is that after implementing KGW, if there was another drop in hash rate.

If you have been following the thread, a few things have changed recently with the coin.

@rfcdejong Thanks, i guess i changed something and messed up my hash rate, I changed too many things within the last day and i don't know what to change back to get my speed back.

What has changed? I missed it.

If you take a look on the first post, the difficulty of each block is now calculated for each block and not after X number of days, and the N factor schedule has changed (2 of the major things).
