3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address - Privacy without mixer on: August 28, 2014, 11:20:48 AM

Where is the scrypt-n asic? They are coming out.. but ive not seen a released one yet.

Or are you referring to the cloud mining contract that can do Scrypt-N or X11.. as in the FPGA.. and as we know FPGAs arent as efficient as GPUs at scrypt/scrypt-n. So its better to use a gpu mining contract than a fpga one with scrypt-n

If Scrypt ASICs are made, scrypt-N ASICS can be also taped out but not for sale. May be it's a conspiracy theory, but why not to develop an ASIC with the similar algo, although it has (twice ?) more logic and higher memory bandwidth. ASICS are cheap at mass production, so there will be little price difference compared to scrypt ones.

The initial idea was to make pow alg adjustable. Why devs just can't fork from scrypt:2048 to scrypt:4096? It will cause the same effect to multipool  and fpga/ASIC mininig. It will help to gain time for Lyra2 implementation.

Look Guys, sorry I haven't been able to post today but I see it like this.
I'm sure GPUCoin would love to have his OP updated, pretty, and smelling of roses, but he has a lot on his plate. A shipment of cards to mail out to buyers, trying like holyhell to get a decent exchange to list this coin, dealing with previous commitments like the legal hurdles of trying to sell coin directly at his site, and I'm sure also worrying about being able to continue his business with the troubles going on right now. I think just about everybody is doing the right thing right now, trading what coin they can, mining what coin they can, talking about the coin where they can, voting where they can. The only thing we need to do a much better job of is keeping the faith, keep working hard and things will work out.

waltsmith

The thing is GPUCoin doesn't need to do all the things himself. Can anybody of you make this job and give him just to copy and paste it to the OP? To keep faith is good but simple things must be done fast and first. Don't you think so?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | GPU on-line sales OPEN | Marketplace is live on: March 26, 2014, 09:18:09 PM
To the people thinking that I am dumping coins, I have yet to sell a single coin for BTC.  All transfers have been to pay IPOs, Devs or bounties.
In order to be able to cash out and buy the next round of stock there is going to have to be a larger amount of buy orders so I am working on getting GPUC on as many market places as I can right now.

Man, it's ridiculous. You have time to post here, but you're too busy to tell your team to write an update to OP so you can replace it. Thread name is renamed to "[GPUC] GPU Coin | GPU on-line sales OPEN | Marketplace is live", but where're direct links to the store on the first page??? Information there is obsolete. That's how good things can be ruined...
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Selling GPUs at prices cheaper than Newegg on: March 24, 2014, 12:06:39 PM
So we have a working faucet http://gpu.reverbs.pw/ . I saw some excited posts here but there're currently 124k GPUC donated to faucet. So here is the question I've already asked in another coin community.
Is the faucet effective, does it help with coin adoption?  Or it's just useless and attracts free coin hunters only?

People, what do you think of VTC faucets? Do they really help with VTC adoption?  Or they're just useless and attract free coin hunters only?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Selling GPUs at prices cheaper than Newegg on: March 24, 2014, 09:39:11 AM
GPUC price moves up on echanges, so does avereage price at GPU store. GPU cards price in GPUC decreases, that is exactly we really need  Grin

apparently AUR pumpers have switched to VTC. Be careful.

Few pumps, even tricky,  better than none  Wink

Hi,

i have  problem with my rig, can you please help me. I think Vertminer has killed my GPU´s

Yesterday i installed BAMT V1.6 and tested CGminer and vertminer.
All looks like fine. Each GPU temp was around 80°C. I have two HD 7990.

While mining with vertminer after 6-8 hours my rig shots down.
After new start it always shots down after mining a short while. I always have to restart it.
Somtimes i can start mining, somethimes it hangs up after booting and starting mining automatically.

To check if everythin is ok with my rig i used my old USB stick with old BAMT cgminer version.
Also here it shuts down after mining a while. After booting windows7 on the same rig and starting
vertminer is also shuts down imeditially after starting vertminer.

GPU´s dead ?

Thanks for help

Could it be a PSU problem? First thing to test, get all your GPUs from the rig and test them single one by one. If you get some hdd or ssd you can run some graphic tests also. Check also temps of VRMs on your GPUs while stressing them.

Wow! This is great support for Vert!

I am looking forward to see results!

Cheers!

Thanks for your interest!
Mails I get are rather encouraging. They show I'm mooving in right direction. But I have to admit, most of who writes me are curious, whether they can start investment from small ammount of VTC. I realize that some sort of crowdfunding in share value could be much more effective from the beginning. One gets risks lower.
Meanwhile thinking of some promotion to attract investors, perform some sort of poll in the nearest future.

Coinwarz will kill this coin  Angry

I think not. Unless some multipools add NScrypt coins and VTC in particular.

I might already be Smiley

In any case it's one of the few coins that I believe in and I'd be perfectly fine even if it means losing some money but seeing this coin being actually used and widely adopted.

Same here. There're already several N-Scrypt coins on the market, which means that VTC approach is right. I had to choose one coin for my crypto-to-business adoption and chose VTC. I think it prooved it's stable, and it has no premine, so it is fair.

I couldn't give less of a crap about the price. I keep buying buying buying. Hell I'll buy all of it !

What to say  Smiley You will be rich someday  Wink

Let's involve VTC in business!
Vertcoinforum thread: http://vertcoinforum.com/index.php?topic=231.0

Hi
I'm a real fan of Vertcoin. Every Scrypt-based currency is vulnerable now in the way it is furiously been mined by multipools and ASICs incoming. As more ASICs will be involved in scrypt mining, GPU miners will merge to 3-rd gen altcurrencies as Vertcoin with N-Adaptive Scrypt is.
The idea is to put Vertcoin into economy. The more capitalization of products offered in Vert is, the more is adoption. The demand of coin will rise, as well as price of VTC.

Business concept
The idea is to convert working capital of my business to Vertcoin flow. This can be made in the way of creation of financial instruments similar to shares of capital stock nominated in VTC with dividend income in $USD.

How it will work
I divided capital into shares 1700VTC each. The starting dividend of such share will be $15 a week. The more crypto getting involved in business, the more backend for this will be created: website, exchange, and forum.
Here're the things I see in the beginning.

Stage0
As there's no exchange with liquidity set up for it, shares can be distributed manually.
Investor creates (if owns none) Gmail account with 2FA. He mails me to my Gmail his VTC address incoming transactions will be made from.
I create a hot storage wallet for him and reply to him with this storage address.
As soon as this hot storage will be filled with 1 share quantity, e.g. 1700VTC, confirmation email of the purchase will be sent. This is time from which countdown for dividend payments will be started.
VTC from this storage will be moved to cold storage. All incoming VTC from wallet addresses that not match the initial investor wallet address will be sent back due to possible obscurity.

Dividend
The idea is to start with base dividend value and adjust it in non linear way with VTC/USD ratio. The initial (base) dividend is $15 a week.
The simplest and the only method at this stage of sending dividends is the following. Every week I'll send a BTC-E 15 USD code to the investor’s mail. So you have to be registered there. BTC-E offers numerous ways to withdraw USD, so it's up for you to decide.

Liquidity
The main question is how investor can sell his share as there is no exchange.
At this stage there are 2 possible methods.
First is to make a p2p transfer with another guy.
In this case, investor has to mail VTC address and Gmail of person who bought his share. From this time all dividend USD go to a new Gmail.

The second is to redeem initial VTC spent on shares from me as business holder.
Here is, the explanation how it works.
At the moment the share is bought, all VTC become a part of capital stock. When investor decides to sell his part of stock and get his VTC back the process of excluding his part of business starts.
This process lasts 10 weeks. Every week investor gets 1/10 of share value in VTC, e.g. 1700/10=170VTC with dividend proportional to the VTC not returned yet.
So here are transactions week by week.
1. 170VTC+$13.5
2. 170VTC+$12
3. 170VTC+$10.5
4. 170VTC+$9
5. 170VTC+$7.5
6. 170VTC+$6
7. 170VTC+$4.5
8. 170VTC+$3
9. 170VTC+$1.5
10.170VTC
-----------------------------
1700VTC + $67.5

Stage1
Exchange!
Other things have to grow from simple to complicated, just to be sure everything is working reliable.

Disadvantages for investors
1.I cant' tell you in details what business I plan to link with VTC. In general, it is sales, that is why the stock redeem period is not too long but not to short as it could be.
2.This model of investment is anonymous in concept, I never know who invests and you get dividends anonymously by BTC-E USD code, BTC-E doesn't collect any personal information.
that's why investors can't get any public information. It is like a black box. Only community can form some sort of trustworthy information, so it is very important to post your experience with this affair here.
3.There will be two points of view on this project: negative and positive. I can't give you more arguments than listed above in the concept.

Just few thoughts how to make VTC not only for speculations but bring to economy.

Here's abstract from my topic at vertcoinforum
"I'm a real fan of Vertcoin. Every Scrypt-based currency is vulnerable now in the way it is furiously been mined by multipools and ASICs incoming. As more ASICs will be involved in scrypt mining, GPU miners will merge to 3-rd gen altcurrencies as Vertcoin with N-Adaptive Scrypt is.

https://www.mintpal.com/voting

is a good exchange platform!

 Smiley

+1 for Mintpal. Fast deposit/withdrawls, good support, not scaming like Cryptsy with its massive deposit delays and manipulation with new coins they add to exchange.
To my mind online store should be opened earlier than GPUc appears on large exchanges, if not, there is a chance to be dumped.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin on: March 12, 2014, 12:24:02 PM
The good thing is that total volumes at exchanges seem to be much smaller than IPO. So there was no massive dump of IPO coins. There is a chance that we'll see some really entertaining scene when unexpected pump happen.  Grin
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin on: March 12, 2014, 11:34:31 AM
Everyone can decide it himself, whether this coin is scam or not. But it's for sure that GPU coin CEOs activity is quite different in this thread before launch and atm. There're simply no positive news from creator of this coin, lack of PR can kill coin faster than dumps from miners.
