1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hive OS - new Linux GPU mining platform on: June 28, 2018, 09:21:46 PM
reason to use HiveOS when you can do everything and more in ubuntu?  Unless you are  a newbie and only wana use fixed set of miners

I know it comes with easy to monitor remote control panel and preinstalled miners , but i want ot be able to install new miners for new algos , is it possible ?  If so , thn it will be very good for me , but with the current implementation , it feels like you are limited and cant use all what linux offers

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HOW TO SET UP OVERCLOCKING AND FAN CONTROL ON UBUNTU 16.04 FOR NVIDIA CARDS on: June 26, 2018, 05:16:36 PM
Thanks to the OP, I configured my ubuntu 16.04 for overclocking and fan control, however few questions.

1. I had to connect one of the GPU to monitor in order to configure OC , however after everything done, can i go back and use Integrated Graphics? , that worked smooth for me , with Nvidia GPU to monitor , the mouse cursor lags to move (even when it is not mining)  and it is frustrating.   Has anyone come across such ? any solution

2. Is there any way to control fan curve instead of a fix % of fan speed ?

Thanks, again.

I m using Lyra2z to mine gincoin . If it uses only130-140 per gpu then it makes sense.   I m getting around 18-19 MH/s total... Around 3.2 per gpu, does that sound normal with a little bit overclocking

I m running 6 1080ti with ccminer , everything works fine except , the GPUs are showing 130-140W power each.   the total power usage around 800W (for 6 GPUs)

I tried overclocking power to 200 , no change...

Any ideas why the GPUs are not taking full power ?

I am new to HiveOS and Mining , I heard lot of positive feedback so i want to install HiveOS instead of windows 10.

I tried to research instructions , most of them talk about installing it on USB drive, however i have windows installed on SSD , and i want to replace it with Hive OS or dual boot it ideally.  If someone can point me in right direction , it will help.

Secondly , when i created a rig in dashboard, It gives me bunch of wallet options on web UI , what are these wallets - are these the wallet address of coins i will be mining ? How do i select which coin , as no option to select coin name , just the algorithm.

In general HiveOS is so diffrent from windows, and i was unable to browse easily , couldnt even find  a notepad , nor could start mining as a sample even.   I searched youtube for step by step guide, but did not find .

I know these all are silly questions , but if anyone would be able to help  me, it wl be great.
