3.1.1 works with scrypt for sure. I am using 3.1.1 for my rigs (a few 7950s and 2 R9 280x) Cgminer is written for many different mining hardware, not just graphics card, but also FPGA and ASIC. It just happens that Con Kolivas dropped the support of GPU mining (scrypt) after version 3.7.2 Something changed since 3.7.2 was the last version to have scrypt support? but, http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/ the 3.7 version doesn't support windows, only linux, and so do all the other versions downwards. I'll download the 3.11 you posted when I get home but will that work with scrypt?

You need to use CG miner 3.7.2 or lower, 3.8.5 definitely doesn't support scrypt. I personally use 3.1.1 cgminer-3.8.5-windows>cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://107.170.25.102:3333 -u xxxx -p xxx [2014-02-07 12:05:55] cgminer: --scrypt: unrecognized option
help?
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum.cryptopool.eu:3336 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password cgminer-3.8.5-windows>cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum.cryptopool.eu:3336 -u xxx -p xxx [2014-02-07 12:21:14] cgminer: --scrypt: unrecognized option same shit different pool! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) do i need another version of cgminer?

It is a temporary no fee period to attract more miners, there are still more than a handful of miners who donates =) Maybe I should raise the fee back up for those who are skeptical ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Your pool was fine with the fees, I don't trust pools without fees ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

Don't sell your PENG too cheap, its block avg is 250,000 compared to KARM's 1,000,000 Great looking exchange, people want it too be added to coinedup though including myself just for safety and comfartable reasons, looking to spend atleast 3-5BTC on penguincoins.. can really seeing this be a hit.

Be careful to trade on website without SSL strictly enabled. It is possible to evasdrop http request and steal http cookies on websites that doesn't have SSL enabled. I personally only trade on websites that have SSL strictly enabled (https always on, no http) to prevent my account being hacked and coins stolen.

Difficulty is re-targetted every 16 blocks. Each block is expected to be generated every 2.5 minutes on average. It takes 120 confirmation for a block to mature (confirm), so on average it will take 120 x 2.5 minutes = 300 minutes or 6 hours before a new block gets confirmed assuming the hashrate can catch up with the difficulty re-target.
thanks for the explanation. the only problem I can see with this is that an unscrupulous pool owner can steal the first 6 hours of mining from a lot of people before they can even begin to cash out. Don't worry =) Not even the pool owner can spend the coin before the coin matures. It take most litecoin-based crypto block 120 confirmation to mature, and so is Penguincoin since Penguincoin is branched out from Litecoin. Please don't 3gh flood to this one too lol. given that we have 5 gh why does it take so long to get confirmed coins?

OP: My guess. You forgot to include the end of your premined block chain as a checkpoint, so anyone with sufficient hash power could have mined a bunch of blocks before they even knew anything of your premine chain. Longest/most difficult chain wins, so the 'official' chain would have been almost instantly trumped by freshly minted blocks. I'm sure you're not the first or last dev that will make this mistake. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Thank you for your understanding i appreciate the support. Hi Dev, I think it is probably a good idea to remind people to delete their wallet address on their pool account, so they don't forget to update it when the relaunch happens.
