You should do a bios modification to your card, if it is 8 GB it should comfortable pass the 2000 mhz which is the default memory clock for 8 GB cards. In order to do this you need a few tools like, Polaris Bios Editor version 1.6.7 , atiflash2.77 and atipatcher.

Beside those tools you need to watch video tutorials on youtube how to bios mod your card.
I got 6 miners all with 185mhs with 6 gpu i know how it works, but my last batch wont go past 2000mhz
And some of those 6 miners also have hypnix memory. And the new hynix memory witb my old 30mhs bios mod also doenst work.

I also have the same problem on Gigabyte RX580 8gb (Hynix) graphics cards. As soon as the frequency rises more than 2000 mhz, the computer immediately freezes or it happens after a while. To solve the problem spent a lot of time, the reason is not cooling, not in the power supply and other computer components. The main thing is that at a frequency of 2000 mhz video cards work very stably. If you find a solution, be sure to write.

if i find anything i will write, but im already spending like 2 days installing drivers bios mods and etc.... without any succes.

Let me ask if you put your monitor on one of your GPU?
Because in my own experienced if I put the monitor in one of the card the hashrate is download then if I overclocked them same as other cards it can't reach the same mhz.
You can try to view your rig on google remote desktop and check and maybe it is because the monitor reduces your mhz.

Yes i do put my monitor on GPU #0,
with these new cards i also have to plug my monitor in them to let msi afterbuner read and clock them, but i have tried also with Remote desktop and with or without monitor in them cards.

You have probably reached its maximum potential on that memory with memory timings the card is delivered with. If you push it too much this may be the result - or you start getting rejected shares. You can also download HWinfo and check if you have a great number of memory errors there.

I bought exact same cards with same hynix memory few months ago, they work fine, and now few months later i bought 10 more, and they all have same problem? while its same card. I dont see any errors in Hwinfo, and even tried to use the same bios as my old cards, seems like there isn't even a change in mhz what ever bios i take

Wierd, but it may be some differences between the batches.
Probably a stupid thing to ask but, you have set them to compute mode? Are the cards on the same computer? If not, are they all running on same drivers? Do you use Wattman or OverdriveNTool? There are also multiple versions of Hynix memory available, have you checked that they share the specific same type of memory(One BIOS can include instructions for multiple)?

Yes first i made a complete new one, with these in it, and all 6 had 22mhz, so i thought it had something to do with software or something, so then i removed one from my old one, where they all run 28, and the other one still runs 22. So it can't really be a software thing i guess. I tried wattman and overdriven, it seems it just only lowers my mhz if i go above 2000.

And specific same type of memory ? you mean the brand you see in gpu-z ? they both the same yes.

Hello,
If i boost my card past 2000mhz the mh/s drops, even without any changes to volts or anything?
what could be causing this ?

Running claymore w10, Sapphire RX580 8gb Hypnix, mining eth

My other rx580 hynix is running fine at 2150mhz
this one doesnt react to anything? i have multiple which doesn't

Tried everything without succes..

Only thing that i find which i find weird is that, it runs like 22.5mhz at 2000mhz, but even a slight increase like 2100 lowers to 19mhz?
Could that have to do with anything ? it seems the card doens't want to go above 2000?

Have you tried to re-mod your bios card? To make sure you were doing the mod with a proper way.

One other thing that may you need to try is giving that card (the troubled one) dummy output but no need to connect to the display.

Yes i have tried standard biios, 1: straps 2: straps, only 1750 2000, and more, some from internet, onr from thr old ones.. nothing changing.
And what you mean by dummy output?

Check memory and core clocks

Yes memory at 2000 or 2250 stays 20-22

Did you change GPU workload from Graphics to Compute in AMD drivers?
Try this https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/DH-024.aspx

Yes they all running in compute mode.

WHen pressing Y in claymore i get this:
All AMD cards use Compute Mode already
CrossFire is disabled already

- what OS you are running ? If windows 10 , did you run the clock speed patch for the new cards ? from my own experience reaching 22-24 and wont pass for 28-30 is usually a problem of not running the clock speed patch on windows 10 .

You can download the clock speed patch by googling " ATi clock patcher" filename atikmdag and download the latest version of it I beleive it is 1.47

- If you are not running windows 10 then we need more detailed information to be able to help .

Yes did already run. and yes using windows 10.

Just got 10 new RX580 sapphires with Hypnix memory, getting maximum 22mhz.

Few months ago i made a first miner, also with hypnix memory they get 28mhz.

I have switched the new 22mhz into the old miner, and now GPU 1 is getting 28mhz(old) and the new one still only 22, so it has nothing to do with software.
Also flashed the bios the same as the 28 mhz ones, and still 22mhz.

any idea???
