Any advice for me to start getting into Bitcoin? Like what are the essentials and how do I start mining and what wallet do I need to use.

Should I start getting into crypto-currencies? I am a complete noob when it comes to Bitcoin and Litecoin and all the others out there. Is it too late for someone to get into mining and trying to earn money from this? Any beginner advice would be greatly appreciated.
