1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Z9 list of working pools/Fork updates on: September 03, 2018, 06:30:29 PM
I left MPH yesterday and moved to Flypool. When Nanopool opened today, I switched over to them.
I'm not completely sure why my profits were lower on MPH, but I have some suggestions.

Firstly, it seems that MPH systematically overestimates ZEN value compared to whattomine. So, MPH will choose to mine ZEN more often than it "should".
Secondly, there is an extra fee for auto-exchange, that I use. It's only 0.2%, but it's not zero.
Thirdly, as for all switch-mining, in the time it takes to mine, confirm, transfer and exchange, the price of the coin may have fallen.
Lastly, the switch algorithm itself may be a culprit. MPH seems to continuously check which coin is the most profitable, but it won't switch until it finds a block of whatever it is mining at the moment. I think this is done to offset the penalty imposed due to the PPLNS payout scheme. But it has a serious backside.  If a coin that MPH mines suddenly gets a big difficulty spike, it won't switch until a block is found, no matter what. I've seen my own miners churning away on a high difficulty ZEC for a couple of hours even when ZEC was at the bottom of the whattomine list.

My theory is that the autoswitch pool is so big on MPH it actually "moves the market".  As soon as MPH identifies a currency for the autoswitchers to move to, about 10MH+ switch to the new currency and spike difficulty just from their move alone.  So the currency from which the autoswitchers moved sees a difficulty drop and those mining that currency still get the benefit.

Just a theory, but I found autoswitch wasn't as good as dedicating to one currency which was consistently overperforming on WTM over the last 24-48hrs.

As others have said about their batch 2 miners, the third board on my batch 2 miner just doesn't handle OC very well.  The other two boards seem to do fine with the higher numbers but that third one either doesn't hash at all or does so very poorly.  I have to limit the OC on the whole thing to accommodate that board.

Same for me.  Batch 1 has been going strong at 750 for a month but the third board on my Batch 2 won't let me get to 700.  Currently running at 687 for the time being.  It took a few hours for the third board to crap out at 700 so I'm still not sure 687 is going to hold.

425/month?  mining what?

My z9 mini still pumping out $27/day on avg.  basically the same as it was a month ago.
That's impressive.
Can you please tell me which coin and which pool are you mining ?

zec, flypool

Same results here on the same pool.  O/C to 750.

Results over the last month would be declining were it not for the surge in crypto values.

Algo switch working on MPH?

Yup it's worked for me but I'm not sure it maximizes profits.  Not very scientific but straight ZEC mining resulted in higher earnings than auto-switching with them.

In about 21 hours of mining I have around 0.12 ZEC on FlyPool.  More like it!

Maybe Antpool was having some issues??? OR just taking ZEC from us???

I got lots of rejects (stale) on Antpool and the performance wasn't so great.

Having much better luck on Flypool.  Very few rejects and generating ZEC0.153/day over the last few days.  (I'm o/c to 750mhz btw).

With the spike in ZEN value yesterday I flipped back to Zhash.pro for a bit but it underperformed Flypool.  Very frustrating that I *never* get the estimated results Zhash.pro lists on their website -- far below, in fact.  Flypool is much better and more accurate at reflecting estimated results.

Zhash.pro is so bad at its estimates (always on the high side) that I think it's intentional.  Usually estimating ZEN1.3-1.4/day and in actuality I get (on average) about 1.1/day.  Worth doing the math if you are trusting the estimates yourself.

How much power does the Z9 overclocked to 750 draw? I am debating whether I can run 3 of those from one APW3++ (with splitter cables).

At 750mhz I'm drawing between 405W and 409W at the wall (as measured by a ubiquiti mFi mPower Pro), depending on if my home AC is running and thus the fanspeed of the Z9.

How many zen/day people making on z9 now?  Struggling to make 1 over last few days on 718 OC.

I moved to Zhash.pro four days ago and in the first 24 hours I got about 1.3 ZEN.  Since then I've been averaging about 1 ZEN/day (nowhere near Zhash.pro's "revenue forecast" which seems to way overestimate things).  Debating flipping back to Flypool (ZEC) or MPH (autoswitch).

How has mining been on mining-dutch.nl?  Their equihash looks very interesting.

The equihash autoswitch pool was too small for my liking.  I was 7-10% of hashpower with just one Z9.  Finding blocks took too long so I switched to miningpoolhub which has a more consistent payout schedule (because the pool is much bigger).

How many stale shares are you guys getting?  I'm getting roughly 20% on antpool, seems pretty high. Is it normal or how can I fix the problem

That's very high on stale. I haven't used Antpool, but over the past 2 weeks, I've used MPH, Zhash-pro, Flypool and luxor and my stale shares top out at 1.2%, there was one time when it hit like 20%, but i restarted it and that issue hasn't come back.  Most of the OC is around 715 with temps around 70C.

I think it's just antpool?

Antpool was giving me lots of rejected/stale shares.  Switched to Zhash.pro and it dropped to zero.

Now giving mining-dutch.nl a spin to see how that works.

ADD TO LIST

Equihash auto switching pool with payout conversion - www.mining-dutch.nl

Currently supports the following coins: Zclassic, Komodo, Votecoin, Zcash and Zencash. Payout in the coins or converted to bitcoin.

URL: stratum+tcp://equihash.mining-dutch.nl:6663
Username: username.workername
Password: d=16  (where the number is your number of Khs for the miner)

They have a config generator at https://mining-dutch.nl/?page=gettingstarted

(looks like wedgenix beat me to the post Smiley )

Looks interesting but when I try to register I get a "token expired" error.  On different browsers and from different IPs.

I'm getting about 7% rejected ("stale") shares on antpool.  I'm really new to this mining thing -- is this normal?
