So, a coin with Communistic Ideals! DERP! Sorry Comrade, USSR would not allow this coin to exist due to the fact that the "People" did not approve, all 12 of them.
I LOL at this one.
P.S. Carl Marx would like to know when the USSR ever practiced Communism - they sure did talk a lot about it. But never saw it.

pause  Windows Wallet didn't come with a rabbitcoind.exe - this is the server that allows for local mining. They may have done this to prevent a pre-mine - incase someone cracked the zip'd file. OR, they forgot to include it. |

I'm just going to hold on to my Mint for a month.
Seeing a PoS coin dumped like this is depressing.
I am doing the same, holding but I do not see it as dumping per say, yes the mega mintcoin miners will but they distributing them. If everyone held all their stash then other people could not purchase them to create a market. Currently minting Mint for 4 days and have over 2 million, I have never minted so many coins in such a short time frame.  Anyone solo mining mint? What kind of hash rate do you have for solo mining? |

People who start these coins should understand how a currency works. Be much more successful.
Give you a hint, a nations GDP is what sets the value of a currency for which is used to trade that value on exports and imports. That is what creates that value.
One reason China's economy is about to implode is due to the way they measure their GDP - it is an artificial method, by measuring the production and not the sale of resources. Thus whole cities build for millions to live remain almost empty.
So, if the economy implodes, will alt-coins be anymore useful - no. As they are not recognized as being associated with trade values outside of personal barter - which will always be very unstable.
If you want to make a product like bitcoin you have create value in ownership not necessarily in the trade - like gold. The more crypto coins that are released, the less valuable they all become.
With crypto currencies they way they are now - is no different that bank notes in the 1800's - any bank could produce them and people would trade with them. It failed, due to the instability of the rate of trade - just like cryptocurrency is doing today.
If there was to be a real trade, it would be to have something stand as value to the coin. Have it be a natural resource or like. Could be anything that has a value, thus the coin becomes a stock or commodity.
I love the idea, but the execution is the problem... in five years this will be remembered as a fun experiment. And someone will figure this out and make it real - most likely Wall Street.

When putting the conf file into the Maxcoin folder - is it really essential to give it read-only permissions ?
I've done everything I'm told to do and it just asks to set the password when I run maxcoind.
Make sure the file extension .txt is not at the end of the file name maxcoin.conf You have to allow known file extensions to be seen to change it via explorer or do it via the cmd line. |

So, when the coin becomes hard to mine - and everyone is sitting on them to wait for value - err.. what is going to get people to exchange them and use them?
I am mining it, for fun. Never had a wallet +1Mill of coin. Don't get me wrong.. would love the price to match or beat Doge in price... but volume?
