Pools under attack again. There's no rest for the wicked...  Scryptminers is working now but there's no block confirmation.  Same for me here. I have 500 POTS waiting for block confirmation. I switched to another pool in the meantime. Is there a chance all these blocks will be cancelled? my guess is that they just have a cron job that stopped running and they need to turn it back on It would be wonderful to know where the fuck is the admin. Exactly! I understand they have an issue. That's bad but not giving any info for hours is worse. It tells me not to come back to this pool whenever their problems are resolved. I tried the IRC channel as well and there's no admin there. just users with the same concerns. Maybe they ran away with our stash. In the meantime, they still have about 20% of the NET Hashrate. I hope it won't be all lost Which pool are you guys talking about? |

Ok I am in... But I am getting some strange results "result does not validate on CPU <i=7408 s=1>!" "result does not validate on CPU <i=7220 s=1>!" Is this the attack everyone is referring to, if so what does it mean to me the miner? |

what about .conf ?? In order to Solo Mine PotCoin you will need to set up potcoin.conf in the AppData folder, here are the settings that worked for me: rpcuser=Choose a Username rpcpassword=Choose a Password rpcport=3333 server=1 daemon=1 If this helps any of you please donate some PotCoin PPvZtEogHCUrPpnDuVsfKPfXsxDCCCiSUr I send you some! I imagine in this thread I know the least about the technical aspects of cryptocurrencies and this may be a bit off topic, but when bitcoins reached $1,200 I was curious to know how secure they were, so I gave my kid a task. He had 2 hours to see how many bitcoin addresses he could generate while checking each one for a positive balance. He found 3 accounts that contained many many bitcoins, I was so tempted to take them, that I had to delete his internet history.
Yeah ok... Do you know how bitcoin addresses are even generated? Most applications have very unique entropy, so just by generating addresses you probably wouldn't get any hits. What was he using for the entropy source? He typed long strings of random characters to generate each address. El oh El. Troll. I am not trolling After seeing that, I assume it is very easy to generate addresses that contain coins and that you guys have to be aware of it. I forgot to mention he also found a few accounts that previously had coins too. But like I said, I am not trolling, just sharing my experience with the community. |
