What gives value to Bitcoin? Why would someone buy 1 digital currency for $1000?
He looks at Bitcoin as a type of Ponzi scheme: all people joining Bitcoin after you, make you money.
You friends is right. ATM, people earned money from bitcoin, just eared the one who after you. If bitcoin failed, then Bitcoin is definetely Ponzi scheme. All cryptocoins is the same. So, I always have a question too, Is NXT really make everyone earn money? the money you earned is not the one who after you. |

That is my nxt address. Although the nxt came from my account they most certainly are not all for me. I transfered nxt to my housemates accounts ( and all of our partners ) , my brother, and my friend and his wife and their chosen loved ones. It is 14 stakes altogether. I did it this way because I had a load of nxt at the time and I just managed to get them into crypto's after the promise that they can be there at the beginning of something great. Rather than having to signup, get confirmed and buy through localbitcoins.com and download a wallet etc... It would be much easier for me to send them nxt and walk them through the process of paying. I could have done the whole mixing thing but I did not feel the need to do so as I have nothing to hide. I have already had the awkward conversation with them telling them that if the community decides that we shouldn't have our stakes then they may be taken away ( didn't go down well - evil stares all round ). We agreed that if it came to it we would be willing to share our stakes 50/50 taking it down to 7. But i really hope it does not come to that. But I will save all this for the thread for stating our cases. If we believe you, all the sockpuppets will have their reasons. then we should stop audit. But rule is rule, no one should break it. |

Why I can't issue an asset which name is already exist? I got a error as "xcp" is already used.
It's by design. I don't get it. As "xcp" for example, Some one has issued "xcp" already. And I have some "xcp" and want to sell it. I can't sell it if I didn't issue it, unless I use another name. Why? I mean all the same thing should be under the same name. because BobsXCPTokens are a different thing from NxtskysXCPTokens. Just issue them like this NxtskysXCP. The NXT wiki is to simply too describe AE system. ill just explain it to you right now. Exchanges like nxt, ripple, and mastercoin work with an idea called colored coins. So with a bitcoin any one bitcoin is the same as any other bitcoin. They are what we call fungible. Colored coins are intentionally not fungible. They are intentionally distinct and different from one another. Colored coins have a value attached to them. So for example, speaking in abstractions here, a colored nxt may have the value attached to it of "Nxtsky promises to pay 1 btc to who ever sends him this token, signed netsky". Now that token can be traded on a market. Lets say betty wants to trade litecoin for bitcoin. She sends litecoin to "hanks litecoin gateway" with a message attached "bettys nxt address:blablabla". Hank will issue "X hankLTCTokens" and sends them to bettys nxt address. Betty uses these to fill the highest bid for on their orderbook thus gaining nxt. Next betty uses her nxt to fill the lowest ask on the orderbook for nxtskysXCPTokens. She sends her nxtskysXCPTokens to nxtskys nxt address with a message attached "bettys xcp address:blablabla". Betty waits for the xcp to arrive. its obvious to most at first the disadvantages of what i just described. Its very complex compared to sending your coins to cryptsy but this is the cost of decentralization and decentralization comes with its own rewards. at some point in the future you will not just be buying any old random token. You will buy the ones issued by the guy who lives down the street so you can go there and pick them up in person. Thanks, I basically understand how AE works. It can be used to issue asset, and we must trust the asset owner. If the asset owner disappear, the people who buy the asset would lost their money.It is ideal for the issue of shares. but not useful for the average person. Am I right? |

I know some fraudster buy NXT or bitcoin from exchanges and register new name used to join NEM. These accounts have nothing connection, all the money come from exchanges. We may never find them out.

HERE ARE SOME THOUGHTS AFTER 5 HOURS OF AUDITION
1. I don't think that fraudsters should be refunded. Their money should be spent for NEM promotion.
2. I found two more big fraudsters and I need about 3 hours more to match txids with names. We need more people doing audition, or bigger reward for auditors.
3. I checked about about 50 random transactions and found 5 fraudsters and 4 of them are big which means there are roughly 10% of fraudsters.
Totally disagree. You can't outright steal someone's money. Send it back to where it came from. Did someone already find your sockpuppets? Totally uncalled for. Maybe someone should check the auditors accounts. I have no sockpuppets. Anyway, do you really think it's fine to steal someone's money? yes, refunding is the best way. The rule is very clear. They waste our time to audit. They should be punished. I agree their money should be spent for NEM promotion, and some of their money should be rewarded to the audit people. |
