1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Raspberry Pi Mining Rig on: February 15, 2014, 03:37:38 AM
I have been using minepeon on my RPi.  I started with some ASICMiner erupters but I sold them, now I have some of my BFL Jalapenos running on it.
There you can find all the information and links you need to get your hardware up an running.

I'm not concerned about software, that isn't too hard. What's bothering me is hardware. I dont really know what ASIC to run. I hear BFL is just terrible.
2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Raspberry Pi Mining Rig on: February 15, 2014, 03:11:25 AM
Hey guys, creating a USB Erupter rig using a raspberry pi. Not expecting a lot of reward, but hopefully pays itself off. Mostly doing this for fun, and to acquaint myself with a basic mining rig. Not looking forward to spending much on anything but erupters, so trying to limit computer cost as much as possible. Heres my rig list ATM:
Raspberry Pi Model B
Bitmain Ant Miner 1.6 Gh/s Erupter (can OC to 2.2)
4GB SD Card
D-Link USB 2.0 7-Port Powered Hub
Arctic Breeze Fan
Raspberry Pi Case (3d Print)
USA Raspberry Pi Micro USB
Any criticism would be welcomed. Thanks!

Ok thanks a lot. Will def make the necessary changes in my rig list.

290X is a beast, unless they cut the price it is not worth the price per MH/s

Well, what do you suggest? I am willing to spend about 600 dollars as previously stated, and can spend that on whatever GPU setup you think would get me the most optimum MH/s.

Ive been looking around for a new video card, and I was looking at the 290X and I was wondering what the Gh/s rate was on it. And what the best video card for around 600 dollars is. Thanks!

Hey guy's, I've decided its time for me to make a serious stride into Bitcoin mining. I put together a rig list, and was wondering if there are any changes I should make. I have about $1600 to spend on it, and it should be able to run games.  Also, I am wondering what I should do about my school's internet. They turn the internet off every night at 11 and it turns back on at 5. So would investing in an internet source be smart? Also, I have to pay nothing for wattage, since its provided by school. My list is this:

This is my 1st one:
ASUS R9290X 575
AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz 118
ASUS M5A97 90
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB  70
Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 - 720W 114
Fractal Design Define R4 113
WD 1TB Caviar Black 50
Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium 90
SAMSUNG Black 18X DVD-ROM 17
LED Backlit Keyboard 32
Logitech S120 10
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 5
Acer S220HQLAbd Black 21.5" 119

$1403

With the ASUS R9290X I should be getting around 800 hash.
