I tried to check my Nyancoin balance at Nyancha.in, but received the following message: "I'm sorry, this address has too many records to display."
Is the Nyancha.in block explorer really that limited in scope? I've never seen anything like this before.

Not to be negative or anything, but how does this coin not infringe on Donkey Kong rights?

Why this thread is doomed to fail.1. Curious Misspellings Bitcoin can barley handle a few hundred thousand transactions a day, what happens if the transactions grow to 10 Million, 50 Million, 100 Million which are all still relativity small transaction numbers compared to the 6 Billion people in the world. It simply can't handle it.
Secondly, it can barley handle 100k transactions in a day without bogging down. Imagine if it's doing fiat numbers for transactions, Bitcoin would destroy itself.
2. Random CapitalizationJohnyBigs: "Yes let's hear the Credit Cards take 180 day confirms." "Should I play some Board Games?" "... will point out Hard Drives will keep up!!!" MikeyVeez: "The Government" "And no Banks at first" "...they are still centralized by Oracles of the world." 3. Phrasing ChoicesJohnyBigs: "...because of reason #1." MikeyVeez: " Reason #1 is already coming into fruitition..." 4. UsernameNote the similarities between the usernames JohnyBigs and MikeyVeez (syllable count, "type" of name, etc.) Also, the usernames were created within days of one another, and both reside in the same time zone. 5. Anger ManagementThe similarities of the overall writing style and tone between the two users are exceedingly clear. No direct quotes are even necessary, just choose 1 post from each and observe the anger. 5. ConclusionJohnyBigs = MikeyVeez = troll. I'm sure some of us (myself included) are wondering how you got to be this way. It takes quite a lot of unmanaged emotion to claim that "digital currency in general has a sinister purpose." Were you recently burned by a bitcoin transaction? Did you have some coins on Mt. Gox? Or perhaps the wound is deeper? Recent breakup with a significant other? Is your family life doing alright? It takes a lot of anger, at both yourself and at others, to be the way you are. I wish you the best.

IMHO it look like logo for infants. I thought after first look it is some seal.
This version? lol, i guess it's all about perspective. I just thought karma could use a more playful appearance since the idea behind the coin is to do good. I didn't think the current logo conveyed that idea, and a generic letter 'K' would probably have felt too corporate and overdone at this point. I actually really like this one, despite the fact that it is a bit too cartoony and feminine (no offense, girls). That and colors should be easily fixable. I like it because it looks really nice, has few enought details to be recognisable in small icon (many other suggestions fails in this case), I like how it breaks out boring circle a bit too. It could be tweaked to be a really nice logo. +1 This logo is awesome.

Dharma wheel logo design = Death spiral of Karmacoin
Design must be simple, ambiguous, and have 2-3 primary colors.
+1 That's why I loved that cartoony elephant of another guy/gal, who did not even submit his entry to the subreddit thread. That elephant looked many times better and it was actually close to a logo. All these entries are nice and I respect the amount of work jwcplanet put in to them, but they are not logos. Too much details, too much colors (in some, too few in others...), too low contrast, too much various insets/outsets/embeds/shadows/gradients/textures. Good for wallpaper maybe, not for logo or icon. I loved that one too ( august25, you should submit yours to the subreddit thread!). It was definitely the most polished and logo-like of them all. The only real complaints that some people had (that I didn't necessarily agree with) could easily be remedied (eyelashes, color, etc.)

Here's one with the elephant, lotus beneath and the Karmacoin Symbol... this is the coin, its cute, it brings it all together. I like!!!! now if you could spell Karma in binary and have that around the coin, it would be off the chain karma = 0110101101100001011100100110110101100001 This one's pretty good, but it seems we've come full circle to the cute elephant design (initiated by august25, whose design I also liked). Also, it looks like it says "Kook" with the K's by the elephant's feet...

This isn't the first time MintPal has been egregiously faulty. A few days after their launch they lost 40 BTC due to a bug in which users could exponentially withdraw BTC (one user took advantage of this and pulled 40 BTC).

Hey dev, a lot of us on the subreddit are saying that gravity well is the most important thing to implement right now. I know you're busy and working on a bunch of stuff, but if you have gravity well lower on your to do list you should consider putting it at the very top. The difficulty swings are starting to get really stupid now. Also, without it we're too scared to make a hard push for coinwarz or cryptsy. This coin is basically ready for the big leagues. When Chris is satisfied and employs full implementation for the store and there's gravity well, we will get on cryptsy no problem.
I agree...the difficulty swings are quite annoying.

I'm a fan of Karma & think it has HUGE potential. But I think this coin needs a relaunch.
How come? Also, what would a relaunch entail?
|
|
|
It's amusing: that 1 group is probably excited that they've mined so much (and expect Doge-like success), but in reality they are just killing the coin.
|
|
|
Curious, are there any plans to implement the Kimoto Gravity Well? This may be a good idea considering how young the coin still is (similarly, I saw an early implementation done by the Karma Coin dev.)
Sorry if this has already been addressed in this thread -- I may have missed it.

Are you serious, uiunavie? And exactly what have you been doing with all of your time when it comes to helping out on this coin?
There's a lot more work involved in fostering a coin than you realize, and the developer has been doing a great job thus far. Sorry if they haven't been working fast enough to satisfy your needs (making a quick buck, presumably).

alright guys. we need to get this coin rolling. If you're holding big bag of coins. Do something to spread the wealth. there are two giveaways happening right now. we need more brainstorming
This coin needs to be distributed fairly around
I agree. It's way too easy to get loads of coins now for practically nothing. Without an appropriate distribution, this coin will go nowhere. (Part of the reason Dogecoin took off was due to the community giving out coins without second thought.)

MANDATORY WALLET UPGRADE NEEDS TO BE COMPLETE BY FEB 10TH 8PM KIMOTO GRAVITY WELL STOPS MULTIMINERS FROM LEAVING DIFF HIGH
Please spread the word! This update needs to be done by everyone in the community. Check the main post of this forum for directions. Downloads are in the first post as well as here. The community asked for this update to be done and we implemented it as fast as possible. This will prevent multiminers from leaving the network with a high diff after they mine Karmacoin, making it more fair for everyone. The actual algorithm will change at block 10,500 which we estimate to happen around or a little after Feb 10th. That is why the upgrades must be completed by Feb 10th for it to be successful. Note: If you happen to download this update after 12:30AM EST 2/10, you will also get a wallet that contains a fix which allows sending transactions of > 84M coins. THANKS Windows installation program: http://www.karmacoin.info/downloads/karmacoin-gravity-win32-setup (append .exe to this url- the forum does not allow the .exe hyperlink to show) Windows zip file only: http://www.karmacoin.info/downloads/karmacoin-gravity-win32.zipMac: http://www.karmacoin.info/downloads/karmacoin-gravity-qt.pkgLinux: http://www.karmacoin.info/downloads/karmacoin-gravity-amd64.debI receive the following error when trying to update: Unpacking karmacoin (from karmacoin-gravity-amd64.deb) ... dpkg: error processing karmacoin-gravity-amd64.deb (--install): trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/karmacoind', which is also in package karmacoincoin 0.8.6.2-0ubuntu dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe) Does the previous wallet need to be uninstalled before installing this? If so, do I simply replace the newly created wallet.dat file with my old one?

Really need to change the wallet splash screen and make it look more professional... I agree.
|
|
|
So is there no affiliation between the two? That is, is /r/karmacoin for a different Karmacoin? If so, any word on how this happened?
|
|
|
Is karma still considered "cheap"?
is it gonna hit cryptsy for sure?
Who knows, but thus far, the developer is doing a great job working on the coin and giving the community regular updates. Much more active and professional than a lot of the other coins, and it's only three days old. At this rate, it will probably hit Cryptsy.
