Selling my mining hardware.  Decided it's not for me anymore.  I accept BTC or paypal.  Shipping is within US 48.

2 Sapphire Vapor X 7970 3GB ghz edition.  Flashed w/ dual-X bios.  I would pull about 725 khs each consistently from these - .6 BTC each or $385 (PP) shipped

2 powered pci-e risers still sealed - .02 BTC each or $13 (PP) shipped each

I have over 300 ebay feedback if you want to verify.

is no one else w/ dual gpus noticing an issue with cgminer or vertminer like i am?  I switched back to cgminer and I have the same issue.  enabled -g 2 and gpu 0 runs about 50-70khs faster than gpu 1.  I even tried physically swapping cards but it does the same thing.  even tried running 2 separate instances of cg and vertminer w/ -d 0 and -d 1 switches but gpu 1 still runs slower.  when mining doge i had both running at 725-750 at the same time.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: February 05, 2014, 02:37:02 AM
why doesnt vertminer apply 2 gpu threads to both my cards?  Both cards were running at 300khs and I realized i was running w/o the option and added it in and restarted the miner.  gpu 0 is running at 350 khs but gpu2 is still at 290~300.  Seems like its only applying to the 1 card.  This is vertminer 0.5.2

So I woke up this morning and vertminer had crashed.  maybe i was pushing the ram to high.  I went back to cgminer and dialed it back.  Here is my current config:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum.vertco.in:8080 -u x.x -p x -w 256 -I 13 -g 2 -l 1 --gpu-threads 2 --looklupgap 2 --shaders 2048 --gpu-engine 1080 --gpu-memclock 1496 --gpu-vddc 1.100 --gpu-powertune 20 --temp-target 75 --gpu-fan 100 --auto-fan

getting 295 from gpu 0 and 280 from gpu 1.  Any tips on getting them above 300?  2 Sapphire 7970 ghz vapor-x flashed w/ dual-x bios.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: February 04, 2014, 07:37:02 AM
welp nevermind.  restarted my miner and used vertminer with:

vertminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.vertco.in:8080 -u x.x -p x --scrypt-vert --intensity 13 --worksize 256 --gpu-threads 2 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --temp-target 75 --gpu-fan 35-95 --auto-fan --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1470 --gpu-vddc 1.081

and now im getting 315 and 285 on each gpu.  When in doubt, reboot.

Further update, changed clocks to gpu 1000 and mem 1640 and now pulling about 350 khs per card.  These are sapphire vapor-x 7970 ghz flashed w/ dual-x bios.

I have 2 sapphire 7970s i get 750khs each mining doge.  First i tried using the same settings i used for doge mining on the vert modified cgminer:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

Set PARAM0=--scrypt -I 13 --worksize 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 --no-submit-stale
Set PARAM1=--lookup-gap 2 --gpu-threads 2
Set PARAM2=--gpu-engine 1080 --gpu-memclock 1496 --gpu-vddc 1.100 --gpu-powertune 20
Set PARAM3=-o  stratum+tcp://stratum.vertco.in:8080 -u x.x -p x
cgminer %PARAM0% %PARAM1% %PARAM2% %PARAM3%

with this i get 275 khs on gpu 1 and 14 khs on gpu 2

I tried this from earlier in this thread:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum.vertco.in:8080 -u x.x -p x --gpu-platform 0 -w 256 -v 1 -I 13 -g 2 -l 1 -T --thread-concurrency 8192

I get an error that all devices are disabled and i cant mine

I found these settings as well and tried them w/ vert miner:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

vertminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.vertco.in:8080 -u x.x -p x --scrypt-vert --intensity 13 --worksize 256 --gpu-threads 2 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --temp-target 75 --gpu-fan 35-95 --auto-fan --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1470 --gpu-vddc 1.081

Like this i'm back to 260khs and 14 khs.  What am i doing wrong?

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / cgminer conf help please on: February 01, 2014, 04:06:11 PM
hello.  Im trying to get my mining rig up and running but running into some issues w/ cgminer conf.  I can get cgminer running w/ a bat file, but I want to use the conf and running into an issue with the url.  I am using "url" : "stratum-tcp://doge-us.poolerino.com:3333", but in the cmd window it comes up "url" : http://stratum-tcp://doge-us.poolerino.com:3333 and says it cant access the server.  Is there a way to stop it from adding the http://?  I am on cgminer 3.7.2 for windows.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: anyone using an 850w PSU for 3x 7970? on: January 24, 2014, 02:21:29 AM
Thanks for the reply.

1. Im looking into this part.  Undervolting had not even occurred to me until Prelude brought it up.
2. It comes with enough for 2 cards.  1 (2 8 pin connectors) are on the main braid, the other 1 (other 2 8 pins) are a modular cable.  Corsair does sell extra cables and you can add 1 (2) more w/ an additional modular cable.
3. It is and it does.
4. Havent decided where it will be yet.  Right now Im thinking in the corner of my den.  It's an open space and usually the coolest room in the house.  My only concern here is noise since this is also the tv room, but we really only watch a couple hours on the weekends and rarely during the week.  If noise gets to be too loud I may look into water cooling though.

what CPU are you using?  Do you know your power draw at the plug?  i know each card is different but i will gladly undervolt if i can still pull 750 per card.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: anyone using an 850w PSU for 3x 7970? on: January 23, 2014, 10:44:06 PM
You know all the answers and still made a thread.  Roll Eyes
I'll make it even more simple for you: Buy a kill a watt meter like many already have.

I don't "know" the answers.  I know what I've read.  I can apply this research and make an educated guess.  But people's real world experiences would be extremely helpful as well.  Hence the thread.  I am not doubting that a 1000w+ psu will do just fine for what I'm asking.  I'm not saying you're wrong in that.  I'm simply asking if anyone has had a different experience.

I'm running 3 (undervolted) on an AX860i, no issues.

Case in point.  Do your hash rates suffer w/ the undervolting?  what kind of numbers are you looking at there?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 850w PSU for 3x 7970? on: January 23, 2014, 10:09:59 PM
You got the answer per your original post. This is yet another topic beat to death. Please use the Search feature.

There, I edited the first post to more accurately reflect what I'm looking for.  Just because I'm a newbie on this forum doesnt mean I'm an idiot.  I know how to google search.  I've seen the same benchmarks you posted.  You post a link that supports your point, I post one that supports mine.  I cant go off a benchmark running the same card running on a high end board and 6 core (plus HT) X series CPU OCd to 1.5ghz over on water cooling and 4x the ram compared to my single core celeron and single stick.  That drops the wattage draw by at least 100w, probably more?

http://hardocp.com/article/2011/11/14/intel_core_i73960x_sandy_bridge_e_processor_review/8#.UuGQ_YHn-c8
Here it shows a load power draw on that CPU OCd to 4.8 (same as the review i posted showing the 789 power draw for 3 cards) at 210 under load and 163 idle

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/celeron-g540-g440_8.html
The G440 does 15 at idle and 33 at load stock.  So if I go based on this my CPU alone shaves between 148-177w off that 789 figure.  I know how to google search.

Every time I see someone post a similar questions the response is "look at this review w/ a system totally unlike yours and draw your conclusions from that" or "Just get a 1000w+ psu and be done with it".  $200 for a 1000W psu vs $80 for my buddy's TX850M warrants a little bit of research.  Just because a review site did 1 test doesnt mean someone hasnt applied real world knowledge and made it work a different way.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 850w PSU for 3x 7970? on: January 23, 2014, 05:37:27 PM

Yeah but that test setup was using a 3960X OC'd to 4.2ghz and 4 sticks of ram.  My mobo/cpu/ram will be much less power hungry than that.

http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/4883/sapphire_radeon_hd_7970_ghz_edition_vapor_x_3gb_overclocked_video_card_review/index17.html

This review shows a 3x crossfire setup w/ the same card pulls 789 at the wall using the same CPU OCd to 4.7 also w/ 16gb.  Assuming a lower power draw due to my celeron cpu and 1/4 of the ram, I would expect to come in under that.  I'm fairly certain a 900 could pull it off but the PSU i have a chance of getting is an 850.

Really, I'm wondering if anyone has any setups similar to this and if they were able to pull it off.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / anyone using an 850w PSU for 3x 7970? on: January 23, 2014, 03:15:30 PM
I have an Sapphire 7970 Vapor-X ghz edition w/ another on the way.  Im looking to upgrade the PSU to handle this plus leave room for 1 more down the road.  Im currently looking at an 850w psu (corsair TX850M), but im wondering if this will be enough for 3 cards mining?  Also, if I decide to OC the cards will it leave enough headroom?

Does anyone here have experience running 3 7970s on a PSUI under 1000w?
