2  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Greenback Exchange: Cash-to-Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin and Ethereum) Service on: April 24, 2019, 07:58:06 PM
Everything looks like it's a private service that has little to do with exchange. Daily limit is very low. You just change, do I understand that correctly BTC / ETH <> fiat?

Yes. The exchange allows purchase and sale of Bitcoin and Ethereum for US dollars (cash, credit/debit card, bank transfer (sales only)).

The daily limit is low because we just started a month ago and are seeing how much interest can be garnered. Once more interest is garnered, the daily limit will increase.
In other words, if we have higher volume, then we will have higher daily limits.

The exchange is not private, anyone is welcome to come down and make their transaction.

What is Greenback?

Greenback ("us," "we") is a Cash-to-Cryptocurrency Conversion Serviced offered by Ledgerback in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, to Nevada residents ("you," "customer[\s]").

Greenback is a buyer and seller ("converte[r/rsion]") of Bitcoin and Ethereum (hereinafter Cryptocurrency) that accepts cash (i.e., paper money and coinage) and card (credit/debit) for Cryptocurrency.

Specifically, if you are looking to sell Cryptocurrency, we will either provide you with cash or bank transfer to your bank account. Furthermore, if you are looking to buy Cryptocurrency, we accept either cash or card.

Greenback is primarily an over-the-counter exchange, where customers come to our physical location to make the transaction. We do not ever hold your funds in escrow or through any other intermediary. All of our transactions are direct transactions between us and customers.

All customers are required to undergo AML/KYC procedures before making a transaction. However, our procedures are pretty smooth and should only take ~5 - 10 minutes.

Current rate:

Our conversion rate is ~$100-30 less than the global price, as of 10 minutes prior to your transaction, subject to any major or significant market fluctuations and our Terms of Service.

Daily Limit:

Our current daily limit is $300.00.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] Ledgerback: A Distributed Ledger Technology Cooperative Association on: September 13, 2018, 04:11:45 AM
Hi everyone!

Ledgerback is a cooperative association specializing in distributed ledger technology (DLT) research, development, education, and discourse.

We were founded very recently (May 2018) with a vision to help further mainstream adoption of DLT, become more knowledgeable ourselves about the space, and plans to create a DLT project that goes beyond a conventional decentralized autonomous organization or cooperative (DAO/DAC).

To make our vision become reality, we have decided to engage in the four aforementioned activities and encourage any interested party to contact us if they want to help us in our endeavors:

    1) Research

We intend to research various facets of the DLT space including use-cases/solutions, blockchain analysis, centralization, and etc.

Our first research project will be on Blockchain Solutions in the Music Industry. If you want to join us in our research, please send us a message!

    2) Development

We intend to help individuals and organizations accelerate the growth of their DLT projects in accordance with decentralized governance principles and providing concrete evaluations of whether their DLT project is viable or not.

    3) Education

We want to promote mainstream adoption of DLT, and to do so, we will create a DLT knowledgebase of basic information everyone should know as they become a member of the DLT space, and after gaining basic knowledge, the paths they can take in the DLT space.

    4) Discourse

We believe there needs to be more discourse about DLT beyond simply trading and memes, rather, that we should be creating an interdisciplinary, all-inclusive space about DLT so individuals and groups from wide and varying backgrounds can exchange information and collaborate on DLT projects (even if they seem tangential). Further, that by creating an interdisciplinary, all inclusive space, that newcomers will be more encouraged to stay in the DLT space.

    Current Services

We currently offer two services: 1) personalized newsletters; and 2) personalized research studies.

Our services are currently in very early stages of development so we are looking for testers who will help us develop these services in an appropriate manner.

* = DLT includes blockchain, tangle, cryptocurrencies, and other related topics
