Also I suggest to change title of the thread to mention POS
This will attract people who are interested in investing into POS coins.

my wallet doesn't sync anymore.
This happened after stake got generated.
Any idea how to fix this?
I tried deleting and re downloading blockchain but same thing happens.
did you try deleting the peers.dat file ? you could try these nodes addnode=14.127.234.120:31427 addnode=62.152.13.242:28938 addnode=78.26.93.122:59217 addnode=78.26.93.122:58405 addnode=69.165.161.242:53070 addnode=195.91.216.170:39783 addnode=92.23.27.73:50026 addnode=24.133.37.175:55525 addnode=75.152.1.226:52597 addnode=24.102.90.154:61694 addnode=24.6.21.198:48915 addnode=184.107.73.243:20149 addnode=188.226.155.94:17177 addnode=185.36.72.65:57605 addnode=203.20.114.252:28746 Thx not helping. I think it is because my wallet has lots of dust and about 2500 transactions. Devs should fix this in next release now my coins are not usable at all. Will get much bigger stake later if this gets fixed. well if you have a lot of blocks in your wallet trying to stake, it will be a problem. Number of transactions are irrelevant, I have over 10k transactions and my wallet responds in a snap. so I would recommend combining your balance into bigger blocks. 1. start your wallet with reservebalance so the client doesn't try to stake those small blocks. 2. send all your balance to a new address in bigger chunks. For instance, if you have 10000 GRW, well I'd send 10 transaction of 1000 GRW each. This will reset the coin age on your wallet and will keep your client happy when staking.(I never actually used reservebalance so I don't know if you can send a reserved balance, if you can't just do that in multiple tries) Ideally we'd have coin control to see witch block are optimal for transfer, but we don't right now so this is your best bet. If you don't want to move all your GRW, well start your wallet with reservebalance with about 50-80 % of your total balance as reserve. that way not all your blocks will try to stake at the same time. Thx got it all sorted. lost all my stake 1. Bucked up the wallet 2. Re installed growthcoin 3. Let it sync with new wallet 4. Imported new wallet 5. used repairwallet command in console Now staking again. Thx all.

I will be giving my months notice at my job tuesday. Will buy my plane ticket to Estonia wednesday and fly out beginning of May. So this gives Kiur a headstart to get out the country or get protection. Already have organised a place to stay in his town and know his current address. I will also make a video of the whole process, I don't care about getting caught or dying for a good cause. I want to take out a bad guy to make the world a better place. I will post my plane ticket next week All I ask is someone PM me the whole story from A to B on what has occurred so far and I will carry on from that point. There is a good chance he might kill me before I kill him and I will make sure to PM his details to everyone on these forums. I am giving it 3 months. Wish me luck and if he does return the btc I will stop the chase and video will never be made public. Since no one else is going to say it, I will. I hope you're only kidding here. I think people are interpreting it as a joke, but I'm not so sure. Maybe an April fools thing, I dunno. Either way, none of this is worth doing what you're suggesting. Hopefully you have some friends or family you can discuss any personal issues you might be going through at the moment. If not, feel free to shoot me a pm. Not sure I can help, but you can get something off your chest if you need to. As far as this coinmarket thing. I lost money. I'd like to get it back. I'd like to see all of this resolved, but is worth hurting someone else or yourself over? Really? Hopefully you guys aren't determined to make this a violent endeavor. This guy won't stop here, Now that hes tasted the fact he can get away with scamming people he will do it bigger next time. Scammers and fraudsters can destroy lives and there is no one looking out for people in the crypto world. Parents died in a car accident when I was 11 and friends I don't really have any. I am conservative person but certainly not weak physically so I will put up a good fight when Kiur and I finally get together. I will have a mini cam on me to show the whole event. Now to workout a valid excuse for resigning tomorrow. dude i might be joining you. I am in EU.

Thanks for this thread Igorr. It provides a perspective we don't often see here. I'm a bit confused as to how the decreasing mining profitability will drive down price though.
When bitcoin lose the support of mining hardware manufacturer, then game iz over, and bitcoin returning to the beginning. It is very simple, If you have a lot of money (mining company) it is easy to manipulate and speculate with a price. manufacturers mining hardware with cheap ASIC-s chip earned a lot of money. Now mining factor is 4.6 cents per Gh at 24 h and game is over, will no longer be no one to artificially increase the bitcoin price, and it go to 10-30 usd. How did get to pull "10-30 USD" Please explain? We would love to see your analysis.

I think you misunderstood what I am saying.
The transaction cost I'm talking about is the blockreward miners are currently receiving. You know, the 3600 bitcoin's created on a daily basis that is being allocated to a few hands? This is a cost. That blockchain link shows total miner revenue(which came at the expense of someone) divided by transactions.
The entire bid book of bitstamp is $12million dollars. At current price of $600~, there is $2.2million dollar worth of bitcoin's created daily. Every week you are creating bitstamp's entire active bid side.
The current profit margin for the top tier miners is obscene, they have huge incentive to realize this gain. Miner's tend to hoard when their profits are low, and sell when they are high. They have been feeding this market since November 2013. Where do you think the ASK side is coming from? It's miners. Because mining is so concentrated, new bitcoin's are ending up in fewer and fewer hands. This leads to persistent volatility as supply is withheld when prices are low, and increased when prices are high. This makes settlement in bitcoin impossible as you cannot perform economic calculation. Hedging this is too costly since a small % of people can influence prices immensely in an illiquid market. I hope this makes it more clear to you. To put it simply, the distribution system of new bitcoins is hideously flawed because of that bitcoin will continue to trend lower as miners realize huge margins.
The competing side is demand, comprising speculative and transactional. Speculative demand can change on a whim, as it is more based on passions and emotions. Transactional demand is more or less fundamental and it has increased by only 25-30% from a year ago.
This is the flaw in bitcoin's distribution method.
As the purchasing power/real value (ie.how many goods/services bitcoin's can purchase) increases, direct transaction fee's between users goes down. However the blockreward stays constant in bitcoin but INCREASES dramatically in real terms. This is a huge inefficiency and cost that must be absorbed by someone, ie users. Since mining has become so concentrated, a certain portion of the ecosystem is now rent seeking. They are being overcompensated for providing no new value.
Simple example.
1 year ago miners were earning $270,000 a day to secure roughly 55,000 transactions. Today they are earning $2.2million a day to secure roughly 70,000 transactions.
Do you see this massive inefficiency and rent seeking? They will be consistently feeding this market supply unless demand ends up picking up dramatically.
wow i just did calculation for dogecoin. The dogecoin miners are securing the network for 270000 a day. amazing eh.
