Dear bitches: STFU! I've done my own fair share of complaining, but do you have to spam the forum 24/7 with nonstop goddamn whining? At least I can fit my gripes into one or two bullet points and then shut up. I.e. - ClownFlare. Really?
- It'd be nice if you guys came up with a way to process BTC with the site offline and then batch the transactions when it came back up.
I'll also note that much bigger sites have been down much longer under DDoS. League of Legends was rendered basically unplayable for weeks as a result of one of these a couple years ago. And of course, Anonymous has taken down some of the larger websites out there, including national government websites all over the world. If it were possibly simply to snap your fingers and magically end a DDoS, don't you think a government would be able to do it? The major problem in DDoS mitigation isn't any one technical issue. It's that the bad guys always get the first move. If that doesn't work, then they get the second, third, fourth move until they come up with something that takes your site down. So you're always in reaction mode. Your missing the point. Give people their money back while you are down if they want it. Plain and simple. You lose all credibility when you are anonymous and do not do that. Your giving them to much credit. This is a small site. This was certainly not some HUGE DDOS attack, not when the site is so small. Odds are it was relatively small and their security was just that bad. No excuse for it. DDOS become larger and more sophisticated the larger your site becomes. It is economics. Do you understand those at all? They are not going to waste a ton of resources to demand 50 bitcoins. It was a small attack that they could not handle. Very sad. They gambled with your money. I hope they blow yours at the blackjack table first. The can just shut down and open up the next anonymous poker room with everybody's deposits now. It just doesn't make sense. Yes, I don't quite understand the gravity of an attack like this, I don't know much about coding or networking. But I do know that I am a customer of a service, and the service has been unavailable in excess of two days now. As a consumer, I can choose to do business with who I choose, and complain when I feel taken advantage of. I just want my money out of the site and I will be on my way. That's it.
Imagine that you try to go to your bank to get money, but there a gunmen/police surrounding the premises. In that scenario, imagine that you're screaming at the bank employees that you're a customer and you demand that they give you money immediately. Silly, right? They have more pressing matters and your whining won't get you money any quicker. Be patient. This isn't the bank's fault. Let the situation resolve. You'll get paid. Oh, and if you're freaking out this much, plan better in the future. The guy has every right to complain you moron.
