1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why Bitcoins is the safest system on: August 30, 2018, 05:27:33 AM
I might disagree a bit with you especially on the issue of the security condition regarding the present banking system. It is true that most fraud cases are due to personal errors. But this is not always the case. I remember my card was once used to complete a transaction somewhere online without my authorization. And I'm totally the kind of person who's very tight with my banking security. When I reported to the bank, they had no excuse whatsoever which was really strange. It seemed like they knew the error was from their own end. They refunded the money, I got a new card and that was all. But ultimately, I think for now, Blockchain security is still very reliable.
2  Other / Politics & Society / Re: IS DEMOCRACY THE BEST OPTION FOR GOVERNANCE? on: August 30, 2018, 05:19:44 AM
Democracy on the surface sounds really great. But in its true practice, a lot of loopholes begin to surface. It is not the democracy that is described in theory that is practiced in reality. Democracy claims to be the kind of government that has the masses involved in the governance of the state. But the true situation is that it is still a certain group of people that get to run the way things are. Democracy, because of its "all-in" nature, results in a very slow process of development and decision making. Procedures that could take way less time to be executed take forever because of the politicking and bureaucracy. The annoying thing is how some countries insist that all countries and governments must be run by democracy. What works for some might not work for others.
3  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Nigeria’s Problems Not A Matter Of Restructuring, Says Osibajo (Nigeria politic) on: August 28, 2018, 06:28:58 AM
Nigeria is surely a very rich country. But she has held been held bound by her own mismanagement and corruption. Anyway, contrary to what the Vice President says here, I believe strongly that the country is in dire need of restructuring. At some point, the Professor even seemed to be contradicting himself. If he fought for fiscal federalism as an Attorney General, why does he now think restructuring is not the answer? Nigeria prospered way more in the time when there were regions that it is doing now. It is no news that some political zones keep draining the economy's strength without contributing much. Every region should be given a chance to decide its own fate. This is how true federalism works.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Negotiation with government on: August 28, 2018, 06:15:16 AM
This is not an easy task to achieve. Negotiation with the government is not something that happens everyday. Let's even consider that there is a possibility. The next question to ask is; who will lead the negotiations? A very large percentage of the population in most countries has not even heard anything about cryptocurrencies. Among the informed few, many are not interested in the market. Then even those who are engaged in this investment, many still prefer to remain anonymous. So, apparently having productive negotiations with the government is not gonna come easy. Most of the change can come within the government. Or so I presume.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook reverses ban on cryptocurrency ads on: August 26, 2018, 11:48:34 AM
Why am I just seeing this? It's as though I'm so behind on all of this stuff. And I think there's some censoring somewhere. You just hardly find random discussions anywhere about Bitcoin. Or is it the investors that are just not taking the gist outside. I only find Bitcoin related news on this forum. Anyway, this is really good news. Good for both the Bitcoin market and Facebook.
6  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Colonising Planets on: August 25, 2018, 07:38:17 PM
Humans are really funny beings. We colonize each other and create so much evil. In the process, we keep plundering our lovely home, the Earth. At the same time, we keep pursuing other planets. We start off by saying it's all for the sake of knowledge. Then gradually we start thinking even about colonizing those planets. How about taking care of our own planet and getting the best of it first? Why are we so desperate about destroying everything we can reach for?
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's all RED!!! This could really be the end. on: August 25, 2018, 07:13:02 AM
This guy was pretty right about the dip. But it's been almost eight months and nothing out of the ordinary yet. Bitcoin is still going. I strongly believe Bitcoin and other crptocurrencies are totally here to stay. By the way, I don't even fancy this technique. Creating panic in the market is not helping anyone really. It only causes prices to dip even further. If you are getting out, it is good for you. There's absolutely no need to discourage everyone else and spread negative information.
8  Other / Off-topic / Re: Depression. on: August 23, 2018, 04:09:54 AM
In order to solve any problem, I think it is necessary to figure out the cause. And this also is the place to start in this situation. I am quite confident that you haven't always felt this way. So, the question you have to ask and answer is quite simple. What trail of events led to this feeling I am experiencing presently? This might take some time to answer. But once it is done, you can then do some steps retracing and decide what efforts you must make to salvage the error. They also say that all a man needs to be happy is someone to love, something to do and something to hope for. So, if any of these three is missing, you can also consider fixing that.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it too late to invest in bitcoin? Is it a bubble? on: August 18, 2018, 05:40:51 AM
I totally agree with you. It is really not too late. In fact this is one of the best times to invest, when prices are actually low. One needs to shut off all the numerous inexperienced voices everywhere. It is very easy to speculate and say negative things. It takes only the brave to make a real profit. To paint a better picture, imagine all the people around you who are yet to invest in Bitcoin. Quite many, right? And you say it's late. The odds are that more and more people will still join the market in the nearest future. Then you'll realize that you were early.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Invest in Crypto or Na? on: August 17, 2018, 05:39:18 AM
Investing in cryptocurrency is a really great decision. It has helped many people make a good amount of bucks. And this is even one of the best times to buy. Simply because the prices have fallen relatively low. But you must get to know what you're getting into. Calculate the risk and decide for yourself if it's worth it. Don't base your choices off non-substantial variables. Don't invest because it is the thing in vogue now. You might end up losing a lot of money. Get proper information, watch videos, read books and articles before you put in your money. It's valuable afterall.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most Crypto investors are Cowards on: August 16, 2018, 02:17:12 PM
This remark produces mixed feelings for me. On one end, I would like to agree. On the other end, I also disagree. What you have observed is mostly true. But you cannot call people cowards because of this type of behavior. When you have seen many people around you go broke from blind investment, you won't easily let go of your money either. The trick is never to invest what you are not ready to let go of. And most people just don't have plenty to let go of. However, the more money you earn from Bitcoin, the more you're willing to invest.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its time to move on, and ignore the BTC !!! on: August 07, 2018, 12:56:28 AM

For me it's clear, from the moment BTC went to the Dow it slide down and be played by the big boys.
More and more we see up's and down's controlled by some big players between 6000 and 7500.
Alt coins are following that vibe, and some step out the line but be pushed in the direction the big players want.
I ask myself who is behind it, are governments behind it that not like the BTC and want it pushed down to get people frustrated.
So frustrated that many of us, get sick and tired of the up line pushed down already few time around 7400.
Ofcourse we are human, and after some push down's, we want to be strong and not give up.
But we also not want to be that person that miss the boot, where the rest break and sell the BTC.
It's almost 12 o clock when this price will go up around 7400 again, and drops down again i see a huge drop coming.
And the faith in going up higher, will be lost more and more. And that is what they want.

So what are you going to do ?   Am I wrong ?      It's massive indoctrination dunn by huge selling dumps.

We have 2 options Guys, let them play with us and let them win.

Or show them that BTC is much stronger then some Jealous scary Government, they need to be stopped.

We can only win this battle if you leave your finger off the Sell button.

Succes gr Bas  sorry for shitty English
We always deal with risks, both in life and in the market. At the same time, investing in crypto-currencies means dealing with huge volatility, but for this you need strong nerves.
There is a convenient system for assessing risk tolerance: check if you sleep well at night. If you find out that you are always thinking about prices and get up in the middle of the night to check the state of the portfolio, you probably have invested too much - never invest money that you can not afford to lose!
Remember that no one gives guarantees. You can look at this from the other side: patience is one of your many tools. Yes, if the coin becomes cheaper to zero, it does not pay off, but patience is an important asset, because it makes you the best investor.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are we as relevant as the way we think we are? on: July 29, 2018, 10:56:39 PM
Admit it, sometimes you just get hit of depressive curiosity...

So, here it is.

Are we biologically hardwired to assume that from birth, we have to prove our importance, our relevance?
We have this drive for success(I like to call it "Love"), we are just addicted right from the start that we need to have an impact to society, to your parents, or sometimes just for ourselves, but then again, why do we feel that we are much more important than everything else? Why do we care so much about it?

And then, why is it that philosophers, after countless sleepless nights of studying and wondering ends up taking their own life, is that the peak of the summit? that after you achieved your definition of success, it is then "okay" to die?

Isn't the end game of life is to just die?

Then, what's wrong in taking you own life now?
You're important to who or what exactly?
The meaning of life in life itself. The fact that we can experience different emotions, realize ourselves, our feelings and thoughts is a unique gift. There is no secret and there is no "meaning of life". A person can not simply answer the question: for whom or for what purpose does he live. If I asked myself this question every day, the answers are always different. People do not have time to enjoy life, because they are looking for some amorphous goal of life. These searches lead to anxiety, stress and depression. But the good news is that even these difficult searches are also part of life. We just need to learn how enjoy it.
14  Other / Politics & Society / Re: why do governments kick against privacy? on: July 29, 2018, 12:47:42 AM
why is that any time that an innovation comes up to protect the privacy of the individual governments kick against it,citing national security concerns?
Maybe my comment seems too banal. But Captain Obviousness Smiley says that the purpose and essence of any state is power over an individual. How to manage people, if they become absolutely free and will not be afraid? All states are afraid of the freedom of the individual. Totalitarian states openly control all spheres of human life, but democrats are embarrassed Roll Eyes, therefore they come up with many tricks. But the goal remains the same.
15  Other / Off-topic / Re: How seriously should we take standardized test? on: July 28, 2018, 02:14:30 AM
Your future should not be based on a couple standardized test it should be based on what you make year round.
I agree. Standardization test can not show all your capabilities. Let it not an ideal way, but it is better not invented yet.
In addition, if you are above average, then this test is not a problem for you. It's just another of many formalities. Do not pay too much attention to this.
16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think Humans are virus for the earth? on: July 25, 2018, 08:52:14 PM
I remember the dialog from Agent Smith in matrix movie he stated that humans goto a region and colonize it until every recourse is consumed and then they move to a different place. and the same pattern is followed by the viruses around us. So are we a species whose behavior is similar like virus or it makes viruses a supreme living/non living organisms.
Judging by what is happening in the modern world, this thought has the right to exist. The individual is beautiful. Every person is unique, like a flower or a snowflake. But the whole of mankind is aggressive, soulless and selfish. I want to believe that in the future peoples will be better.
