1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 06, 2014, 12:58:43 PM
Guys please tell me why everyone still mine on MPOS pools - there was so many hacked servers and You still nothing learn.
Just start use p2pool and You get money instant to Your wallet.dat and if someone hack server with p2pool you DO NOT LOSE your coins!!!
So stop use MPOS pools and stop crying about losed coins. Noone help You here.

Just go to https://github.com/MPOS/php-mpos/commits/next and look how many BUGs got this software..
Thanks

I don't *think* the issue is with the PHP in the MPOS. I honestly believe it's the security of the server itself.

... And I don't think that link shows what you want it to show. Those are just code commits -- they can be additions or removals of a number of things.

#GL Vertcoin P2Pool#

http://gl-security.net:9171

Connecting to this P2Pool node:

URL: stratum+tcp://gl-security.net:9171
Username: Your vertcoin address
Password: Can be anything

NOTE!
This P2Pool has an automatic failover -- if one of the servers goes down it will automatically change to an identical, but separate instance. TOTALLY TRANSPARENT TO THE MINER (except maybe a few stale/discarded shares).

Help please. I have been trying to mine vertcoin for a day now and it shows that I'm not even mining but when I look at my screen I see:

This is the command I'm using:

timeout /t 30
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://crunchpool.mooo.com:9171 -u [wallet address] -p password -I 13
-g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1500 --temp-target 70 --
auto-fan

But, on this page, http://p2pool.crunchpool.com:9171/static/#tipsfaq, my miner doesn't show up and I have gotten 0 payouts. Any ideas?

You're actually doing more harm than good. Did you download the modified cgminer/vertminer for Vertcoin? I'm expecting you'll see about 1/2 those hash rates when you make the switch.

##P2Pool##

http://gl-security.net:9171

Fully redundant P2Pool (Two identical but separate systems running P2Pool instances). These will AUTO fail over if any issues were to occur -- totally transparent to user (maybe a few discarded shares).

Enjoy and PM me with any questions/issues!

All set. Changed to a different web-static provider.

How do I do that? I'm playing around in the web-static directory but don't see the option. I've been trying to do this all day.

Not sure if this is the place for it - but I have a pretty solid P2P node stood up for VTC.

http://gl-security.net:9171

It's also hosted on the scanner under http://76.119.179.213:9171

Thanks!

Hello Boris , why my worker VkmHTrMg5WDyuhpyaAiBkw7pd7uT7QRXnv on your p2pool have so much stale %?

Probably latency - what are your pings to vtcpool.co.uk like? If it's not latency, then it's almost certainly too-high intensity, or queue not set to 0.

So you're saying you can have the Intensity set too high? I am running `-i 19`. I'm seeing mostly accepted shares and a low latency but rarely any payouts. Could that be the reason? Is having a too high intensity "silently fail," etc?

i am mining with p2pool and not getting paid since 7 hours.

the pool recognizes the address, everything appears to be in order. (shares accepted, etc).

any ideas?

I'm getting paid in clusters. It will pause for a few hours then all of a sudden I'll get 4-5 transfers, etc. Not sure what's up but when I get home from work tonight I'll be setting up my own instance of the P2P pool.

I am mining in p2p with my 1,35Mh/s since and everything seems ok with payouts but my reject rate is too high..It's hoovering around ~20% sometimes even 25% while I see people with similar hashrate around 2-5%..how they do it? I've tried no + diff adjustment, I have tried +0.001566 by BorisTheSpider guide calculation and I have tried one suggested by the pool..what else I can done ? Huh

What's your latency to the node? You will get the absolute best performance by hosting a local node if you can - you don't have to open it up to anyone else, just run a private one for your own mining.

Do you have the link to set up your own node? I'm hashing about 620 KH/s -- is that enough to be in a P2P pool? I'm getting sporadic payouts and I'm on the node that has the least latency to me, etc.

Is something up with Freenode? I'm having a hard time connecting to it and there's only 3 people in the #vertcoin channel and no bot.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: February 02, 2014, 05:14:21 PM
3x Sapphire 7870 GHz edition 205KH/s each total of ~620KH/s (just about WU of 500KH/s).

./vertminer [] --worksize 256 --thread-concurrency 16192 -g 1 --intensity 19  --temp-target 75 --gpu-engine 940 --gpu-memclock 1250

I live in New England and have this rig in the basement with a small fan pointed towards it. Things stay right around 55C at 40% fan.

I ran the same settings and got the same results on 1 sapphire 7870 card, but my hardware errors are through the roof. Can you tell me about any errors?

That's weird. I've been running this for about 60 hours and I have a total of 15 HW errors across 3 cards. I experienced this when I originally installed these cards. I had a card that wasn't "tight" on the motherboard and when it was put understress it would HW error like crazy. I would shutdown your machine, reseat it and try again (just food for thought).

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.4 Released MANDATORY UPDATE on: January 25, 2014, 02:55:39 PM
Hi!

I'm having a tough time connecting to the Dogecoin Network from my wallet.

Here are the things I have tried:
  • Multiple times adding new "nodes" and replacing conf files
  • Opened up all firewall rules (pfSense) to my IP
  • Enabled uPNP (on pfSense)
  • Changed computers
  • Reinstall QT client
  • Was sad Sad

I am even having trouble connecting to other networks as well.

Any ideas? Often times I can make connections via telnet directly to the Peer IP addresses but the client won't connect.

OS: Ubuntu 12.10 currently but have also tried on Win 7 x64.

Much thanks.
