1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Unable to enum CUDA GPUs on: July 03, 2021, 01:30:06 AM
Everything was working fine until I turned off my rig and turned it back on. I'm running hive OS and received a message, "Unable to enum CUDA GPUs: no cuda-capable devices detected."

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this problem?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / I need a new motherboard on: July 02, 2021, 07:37:41 PM
I may need to replace the motherboard on one of my six card rigs. What are some of the best choices now for motherboards to be used for mining?

I currently have an Asus prime z270-a.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Trying to cool rig with six fans - What's the best method? Corsair Commander Pro on: June 25, 2021, 03:50:24 AM
I've got a box fan in the window pushing air out, and 2 box fans behind the rigs pushing air through them. I thought it might help to have the small fans in front to try and pull air through the cards like the setup on this veddha frame. It's fluctuating between  90° and  100° F where I live and the cards on my bottom rig are running a little warmer than I would like.

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/3M8AAOSwZHRgAQiw/s-l640.jpg

Does anybody know what they use on this frame to run those fans?

I'm going to try another box fan and set it up to push cooler air (from a room with air conditioning) into the rig room. Hopefully that will help. I have 10 of these small fans with Molex connectors and just thought it might help. It seems like fans can have 3-pin, 4-pin, molex etc connectors, making it more challenging to find the solution.

Thanks for the suggestions.

How do I connect a product like this to my fans? That's where I'm stuck. I see 3 pins coming out for each fan but I have fans with 4-pin Molex connectors..

I do have A/C running in another room but not in my rig room. It would get expensive, and I don't have enough electricity, since I am using it for the video cards.

One of my rigs is running hot and I'm trying to get more air flow by adding fans in front to pull heat away from the rig. The fans have Molex connectors. Is there a hub that connects all of these together? Should I get the Corsair Commander Pro? Are those Molex male pins in the image?

Have you tried to connect one of these 2 cards instead of a card that is working correctly in your rig? It may be a problem with the PSU that is no longer supporting the 6 gpus simultaneously.

I did try that, and it did not help.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 2 Video Cards Stopped Working on: May 13, 2021, 11:14:27 PM
I'm running a RX 580 rig with six video cards on a Z270-a motherboard. Two  of the cards stopped working, so I checked each one out separately in a PC I have, and they operate and mine just fine. I also tried other power cables from my PSU that are working correctly with other cards, but the fans would not spin.

I also changed the risers for both cards. That is all I can think  of that could be causing problems. Any ideas why they are  not working? My only thought is bad risers, which I will change, but wanted to get opinions if I am missing anything.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Trouble mining with one card in Windows 10 on: May 07, 2021, 06:25:20 AM
Now I have tried putting the lolminer.exe file and.bat file for ETH into the Windows\System32 folder and running it from the cmd.exe prompt, but that's not working either. It just keeps showing my average speed at 7.74 mh/s. Doesn't look right at all. It just stays at an average speed of 7.73.

This makes zero sense. I watched about five different videos on YouTube and they all have their miners start no problem.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Trouble mining with one card in Windows 10 on: May 07, 2021, 04:07:10 AM
I did edit the existing file that came with the miner, and The same problem occurs when "pause" is there at the end.

A CMD.EXE window pops up and says, 'lolMiner.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
Press any key to continue.

-- If I go to my lolMiner folder and click on the.exe application file, I get the same message. My batch file ends in .bat.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Trouble mining with one card in Windows 10 on: May 07, 2021, 02:41:23 AM
I'm trying to use Windows 10 to mine with one RX 580 MSI Armor OC video card. The card is recognized in device manager and GPU-Z. I downloaded both PhoenixMiner and Lolminer. I modified both batch files. Yet, when I double-click on either one it asks me to "press any key to continue," instead of mining.

Any reason why this isn't working?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can only get 4/6 cards to mine on my rig on: December 20, 2020, 03:00:10 AM
ive got a 170a pcmate board that wouldnt allow me to uncouple the pcie used for m.2
i got around this by using a little m.2 to pcie 4x slot adapter to get the 6th gpu to work.

This is my only hope right now I guess.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can only get 4/6 cards to mine on my rig on: December 19, 2020, 06:58:24 PM
I just tried unplugging cards one and two so that 3, 4, 5 and 6 are in slots 3, 4, 5 and 6 and its working fine. Yet, if I try to include one more card, it won't hash correctly.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can only get 4/6 cards to mine on my rig on: December 18, 2020, 10:53:15 PM
I had to search for the M.2. area in the bios for the Asus Z390-P motherboard. I can't seem to find its settings in the "advanced" area. It only has options to enable them (there's 2) or disable them. I left them disabled for now.

I changed the PCIE link speed to Gen2, which I assume is for the four slots PCIEX1_1, PCIEX1_2, PCIEX1_3 and PCIEX1_4. I also changed the PCIEX16_1 link speed to Gen2, which I assume is for the two slots PCIEX16_1 and PCIEX16_2.

It still won't let two cards hash. I purchased a couple of M.2 to PCIE adapters today, which I'll try if I can't get things going in the meantime. I'm not sure what to do
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can only get 4/6 cards to mine on my rig on: December 18, 2020, 04:29:46 AM
I'm using the same type of cards with a ASUS Prime Z270p. It was a struggle getting it going too with similar issues. I modded each BIOS a second time, swapping 1750 timings and putting them into the 2000 timings, and that seemed to work. I tried that with this rig and it didn't work.

The bios I have been using is the  latest updated version.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can only get 4/6 cards to mine on my rig on: December 16, 2020, 08:33:11 PM
I don't think there's a problem with any of the risers or cards. when I plug in cards 1,2,3, and 4 into the first four slots on the motherboard, they work fine. If I plug in cards 1,2,5, and 6 into the first four slots, they also work fine. I have also tried cards 1, 2, 5, and 6 in slots 1, 2, 5, and 6 with success.

I have tried both Gen1 and Gen2. I also tried turning off the PEGPORT Config PCIEX6_1 Link Speed.

Right now, I have six cards hooked up and it won't go back to the bios when it reboots. It just goes to Hive.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can only get 4/6 cards to mine on my rig on: December 15, 2020, 06:26:41 PM
Thanks for the input. I'll try messing with the bios first.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Can only get 4/6 cards to mine on my rig on: December 15, 2020, 06:46:46 AM
I'm using an Asus Prime Z390-P motherboard and 6 MSI RX 580 ARMOR 8G OC video cards with Samsung memory for my rig. I have got four of the cards running fine, but the last two won't run together with the other four. I'm using Hive OS with Phoenixminer and ethermine.

The four cards that are running get 27.4 MH. Overclocking is set at 1050 900 1950 for each card. I did a bios mod by copying the 1750 timing to the 2000 timing and pasted it there using the Polaris bios editor.

If I take card five by itself and put it in PCI slot 1, it works fine. This scenario is the same for card six. I just can't get these two cards to run with the other four.

Bios settings:

- In System Agent Config, I enabled "above 4G Coding"
- In Peg Port config, I changed PCIEX16_1 Link Speed to "Gen2"
- In PCH Config/PCI Express Config, I changed PCIe Speed to "Gen2"
- I also disabled HD audio and turned the power on for power loss functionality

Any clues why I can't get all six cards to work together? Does the MH seem low? I don't know any other way to mod the bios.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 6 Cards Work Individually but not together on: November 28, 2020, 06:06:40 AM
"Does all this happen only with multiple AMD GPUs? First post said all worked fine, one at a time."

Yes. I can see how this would be confusing.

When I started this thread, all of the cards were working by themselves. However, the next day when I came back to work on it, I messed around with the bios on card 1, and started getting the message: EthDcrMiner64.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file when trying to run the miner in Windows. I switched to card number two (not messing with the bios at all), and it was still giving me the message: EthDcrMiner64.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file in a Windows environment.

And the issue of it not working in Hive OS as I wrote in my previous post.

So the main issue now is this message in Windows 10 and it not working in Hive OS either.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 6 Cards Work Individually but not together on: November 28, 2020, 05:58:30 AM
In Windows 10, I tried turning off Defender, downloading Claymore miner, unzipped it and ran it. I get this message: EthDcrMiner64.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

I switched over to Hive OS. Everything is okay until I get this red colored error message:

Network is off-line. Check your Internet connection.
Failed to start Walt for network to be configured.

I tried The card in the first three PCI slots and it just kept giving me that message in Hive OS.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 6 Cards Work Individually but not together on: November 27, 2020, 05:40:54 AM
I just tried flashing the bios, and it said to check the network connection.

When I'm starting up Hive OS, I also notice that it says there's no Internet connection. Yet, I can go into Windows and connect to the internet. I'm not sure what to do.

I also tried using Phoenix miner with Windows 10. Both the claymore miner and the Phoenix miner give an error message stating that the .exe is not recognized
