WTF?  Open source software is not secure and "white label" shit is?

Bitcoin is open source and one of the most securest systems ever.

I guess you have just landed in the wrong planet. Go find your victims somewhere else, here we live open source.  Wink

There is one thing to note: Bitcoin is not a kind of software that let one build a whole cryptocurrency exchange. Of course, open source software can be secure and it often IS. But let's keep in mind the topic we're talking about. How many cryptocurrency exchange open source solutions do you know? I can provide you with some examples (if you know more, please, share):

How secure are these solutions? It's hard to say. As for "white label shit" Smiley, you're right, I have to add some comments in the initial post. White label software can be considered as secure if it has a lot of REAL customers and you have REAL testimonials from these customers. Or if a vendor is trusted itself. For instance, OKEx has recently announced the launch of white label service. Do you think it won't be reliable? I think it will be.

Good guide! Do you know which is the most famous exchange that uses a white label software?

Thank you! To be honest, when we were preparing this guide we tried to find out what exchanges use white label solutions. Unfortunately, we haven't manage to answer this question. Few websites of white label software vendors provide information about cryptocurrency exchange platforms that are powered by their solutions. But they show print screens, that barely allow you to see the names of the exchanges. I think I have to write to some vendors, and ask if they can provide such information Roll Eyes
6  Economy / Exchanges / How to Build Your Own Cryptocurrency Exchange Website on: August 09, 2018, 09:06:33 AM
Hi everyone! I'd like to share some tips on building your own cryptocurrency exchange.

1. 10 of the 10 biggest cryptocurrency exchanges are developed by companies located in Asia. About 50% of them work mainly with local residents. Thus, there are still opportunities to launch successful exchanges on other local markets.

2. Generally, there are 3 ways to build your own cryptocurrency exchange: white label solutions, open source solutions, and custom software.

3. White label solutions:
     + €30,000-50,000 per year
     + rapid deployment
+ highly reliable (if it has many REAL customers and you have REAL testimonials from these customers. Or if a vendor is trusted itself)
     - not really flexible
     - reccurent fees
     - support depends on particular vendor

4. Open source solutions:
     + free
     + rapid deployment
     - not reliable
     - not secure
     - without support

5. Custom software:
     + outstanding features
     + secure and reliable
+ you don't share your profit with someone else
     - long development time
     - lack of experienced developers
     - $200,000 and more

How do you think, is it still real to start your own cryptocurrency exchange and make money? If yes, which variant would you choose? If no, what are the main challenges that an exchange founder may face?
