Gox will be releasing a statement later today regarding btc withdrawal delays
any source? I was chatting with two members of Gox support earlier. They said there will be an announcement today (sorry i don't have a screenshot). I asked them was it bad news i.e. exchange closing / liquidity problems. They said no, not at all, they just needed people to be patient. They said it was a 100% technical issue, a "dust problem" whatever that means. I asked if Mark K could reproduce the "trick" he did one other time to prove they were solvent i.e. move a heap of BTC between two internal wallets so we know they have the coins. The support guy didn't commit to doing it but said it would be raised with Mark K. I guess we can only wait and see. Okay, so you know some people inside Mt.Gox, can you ask them what's the reason for the delay of SEPA withdrawals too? |

I made a support ticket 3 days ago. It has number XXX0000.
I made a second support ticket today. It has number XXX3000.
That means they could have up to 1000 tickets a day.
How are they supposed to answer on a timely manner 1000 support tickets every day with only a dozen of people?

His role is Customer Support Manager.
I hope they are trying to catch with their backlogs quickly. Getting more people to give empty boiler-plate replies to tickets regarding missing withdraws won't help. These tickets are just a symptom of the underlying problem: you can only withdraw from emptygox in JPY, which takes a week, or EUR, which takes a month. They have no volume these days and there isn't a huge inflow of new very stupid people who sign up at emptygox. People who have been waiting for their withdraw for months are obviously going to open tickets about it. duh. "emptygox", nice one  |

Inderdaad, kraken is zeer snel. Verificatie ging heel snel Heb al enkele euro's gestort, telkens staan ze er op binnen de 48u. Om af te halen kan het wel oplopen tot 72u, maar dit is uitzonderlijk. (Kraken is dus 10 keer sneller al bijvoorbeeld mt.gox) |

by what standards is anything improving over there? everything is worsening......support answer time was hours half a year ago...now we can wait weeks ! each and every of my last 3 tx in different amounts were broken !! IS ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO GOT ANY BTC WITHDRAWL BROKEN OR UNBROKEN IN THE LAST 24 hours? 2 withdrawals at around 6:40PM PST yesterday. 1 right after the other. Went through instantly. I know I was lucky. I think the withrawals that go through instantly are only the small amounts. Big amounts need human confirmation I guess. |

Anyone do Japanese domestic transfer using a CitiBank-JP account to/from Gox?
I hear that Gox wont/cant do business with Citibank-US
and am wondering if that is a US Gov restriction or maybe Citibank's internal policy?
Just got an answer from MtGox, that Citibank (in Japan) does not accept the transaction associated with the bitcoin.  huh. I just received a withdrawal today to my citibank japan account from gox and have been doing it for 5 or more months without issue.
This two pieces of info are conflicting with each other  Yes, it conflicts. But what I can say is I am doing it. lol. Welcome to Mt.Gox, the only place in the world with more conflicts than warzones! Anyone do Japanese domestic transfer using a CitiBank-JP account to/from Gox?

MtGox finally accepted my bank account. Pushed some PLN to my bank. We'll see. It is rather low amount (less than 0.2 BTC). Will keep you informed.

I use "VDK Spaarbank".

Yes, every withdrawal has arrived, even the ones in BTC. My history is quite a bit longer than that, but only the current ones are relevant I think. My bank is ING, well known in Holland I know ING  I also have an account, but I'd like to seperate them. (ING ==> Kraken / VDK ==> GOX) My first withdrawal is one year ago or something, and it took 3 days I guess. So compared to nowadays, a LOT has changed  |

Hey, I didn't say it's a good idea - I don't do it . Just saying that exchange rate risk is not one of the (many) risks you're exposed to. true story |

Yes, ONE TIME. Nice. But if you try to do that more than once you risk buying back your BTC at Bitstamp to a price higher than 18% as soon (or late) as your money arrives. That`s all I`m saying.
I think this scenario assumes you always have a pool of fiat and are not 100% BTC. You can do the operation multiple times, just buy on bitstamp exactly the same time as you sell on Gox, every time. Then transfer the BTC to Gox, wait a month for your SEPA to show up, then repeat. "Just wait a month"... It takes a little bit longer than a month And If you invest a large amount, you're always scared that Gox will scam you, aren't you? So it's nice for a daredevil. |

dont you get it ?...there is a 20 percent profit guarentee when dealing with Mt. Gox....free money for all Sepa account holders !! I guess what he means is that it takes over 6 weeks to get you money. So it isn't very profitable if you have to wait such a long time |

Dus als er nu eens een andere exchange zou bestaan met de prijzen van Mt.Gox, dan zou je in principe dus wel aan arbitrage kunnen doen?

Sorry for the people unable to withdraw USD from MtGox.
HOWEVER, SEPA does work. This is my recent SEPA withdraw history.
All withdraws coming from Poland to Belgium.
All amounts >> 1k€
- okt 21, received nov 26
- nov 9, received dec 17
- nov 16, received jan 8
- nov 19, received today jan 28
- nov 27, not yet received (so by the 20 day rule it should arrive on Feb 17)
The general rules from the MtGox FAQ seem to apply:
- about 6 weeks for a transfer
- minimum 20 days between each transfer (this is the one that seems to apply to 4 last transfers)

Requested 2 SEPA Withrawals (11th and 13th of January), the first < €100, the second > €100.
Both 'Confirmed' status..
Opened a ticket, they say it takes less than a week to process an < €100 SEPA withrawal. ==> yeah, sure.
Does anyone have the same experience?
