1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Would you still build rigs with 4gb cards on: July 26, 2021, 08:21:57 PM
At $200ea. No.
At $100ea. Ehh. I wouldn't do it personally but I could see why others would.
At $50ea. Yes
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY NEWBIES KEEP ASKING THE SAME QUESTIONS !MUST TO READ ! on: February 19, 2021, 06:30:10 AM
Very well said. Couldn't have said better.

Unfortunately, this won't be read by most newbies because they don't know how to read. If they did then they wouldn't be asking same basic question over and over and over when they could Google in 30 second and get the answer.

It really boggles my mind how newbies are spending thousands and thousands of dollar setting up rigs yet they do not understand even some BASIC concept. Don't get me wrong, everyone has to start from the bottom but they should at least learn basic concept such as profitability (luck, block reward, pool type, global hashrate, etc).

Oh look Flexpool shill starting their campaign at Bitcointalk.org now. Well can't blame since their reddit campaign worked so well.

0.7.13 seems buggy to me.

I've had a rig running (5x 570 8gb) with over 30 day uptime with 0.7.9 but switching to 0.7.13 crashes either GPU 0 or GPU 5 (last gpu) in 4-5 hours. I know there was a bug in 0.7.11 with some cpu and mobo incompatibility but that was supposed to be fixed for 0.17.3 as stated in changelog(?)....

Even applying --eth_dag_alloc_patch as stated on README doesn't help either. Hash and power printout was cool but apart from that there were no hashrate or power improvements either.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux) on: September 07, 2020, 05:14:14 AM
https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/blockchain-drivers/110847/12

We’ve confirmed that the performance drop is due to the size of the DAG exceeding the total on-chip TLB capacity on the Pascal GPU. As a result, there is an increased number of TLB misses, which affects performance. Because the TLB is a fixed capacity hardware resource, and the ETH algorithm accesses the DAG randomly, we don’t believe there are any software optimizations that could reduce the TLB miss rate.

Nvidia seemed to acknowledge the issue however they passed it off as a "hardware" problem. Really a bummer since that means 99% they won't release a driver fix; not to mention Nvidia probably hates crypto miners since angry shareholders opened a class action lawsuit regarding GPU sales
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Eth and EIP 1234 on: January 13, 2019, 03:58:34 AM
There are a lot of other coins with similar profit. I'm going to switch to Ravencoin, Monero, XZCoin or something else if Ether will be unprofitable. But I think that its price will rise after successful Constantinople update and profit in fiat money will be the same.

I doubt it will happen...

Yup.
Prices will remain the same or even go lower depending on BTC of course. Classic supply and demand theory only works on necessity or rare goods (food, water, clothing, shelter, jewelery etc). No one is using ETH for anything so why would anyone want ETH other than hodling. If less supply = higher price then may I present you with Bitconnectttttt.

I wonder who/what will be the next scapegoat that ETH bagholders will blame next.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ravencoin Dev confirms no ASIC Fork unless 80% hash agrees to fork. GG GPU Miner on: December 11, 2018, 09:00:52 PM
LMAO. Shitcoin with shitty devs. Who would have thought Huh

They want Proof?

Does he/she really expect ASIC companies to come out and say "wE hAvE aSiC 4 x16R1!!!11!" while they can secretely mine in their factories?
Or better yet, develop a model that 5-6x faster than the previous one and dump the old models at ridiculous price to public AKA SHA256,Equihash, and ETH ASICS

If you ask a thief if he's a thief, do you think he/she say yes?

What kind of logic is that.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Hard Fork Test Goes Awry, “No Constantinople In 2018“ on: October 14, 2018, 09:41:43 PM
They couldn’t find a miner to support the reduction in block reward.  What I bet happens is Ethereum ends up having to hard fork away to get these changes implemented.  Miners will stick to the chain they on now because they don’t want to see a reduction in profits. Problem Is those propping the coin up are the ones wanting the reduction.  Stuck between rock and hard place I’d say.  Quite the conundrum. End result will be loss in mining rewards in terms of usd no matter what they decide.  I’d say pow mining has some major issues that need addressed.  Maybe it’s not a viable way to secure a blockchain.  Greed if left unchecked becomes cancerous in nature.  If that is what is to happen to crypto then so be it.  just be ready for it is all I ask

BR

Hmm. Maybe if devs gave even a single fuck about... decentralization and ASIC resistance then maybeeeee miners would have helped out on testnet.

But nope

"ASIC resistance - Do we even care about that" Actual quote from dev meeting. Obviously miners are the fault here and not the devs despite what whitepaper says /s

Been using this for over a month, just didn't have time to post my result.

No crash and working as intended.

Tried it on Claymore and Phoenix and no problem

My 1080 Ti does 56mh/s and 1080 does 42mh/s. Got really lucky with the 1080 as it can OC +1000 stable

Recent 23 hours of hashing log (had to turn off the pc to clean some stuff out), 0 stales/invalid shares

What model of 1080 and 1080ti do you have? Thanks!

I have MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X and MSI GTX 1080 Ti Armor.

What are your settings for MSI 1080ti Armor?  I have Gigabyte Aorus 1080ti, but maybe I can use the same settings... Thanks.

Core: Shouldn't matter much. I put mine on a fixed custom curve 1600mhz @ 0.8v
Memory. +360 exact / 5865mhz on MSI Afterburner . I found out putting higher value (such as 500) is not helpful but instead, finding a specific value helped tremendously. You should take some time and raise or lower it by increments of 10 as it's really sensitive to the change. Long time ago but I remember +500 only doing 52-52.5 on my card until I lowered it down. Must be due to some kind of timing

Does your 1080 Ti get stable hashrate for a month ? and how much the effective hashrate what you got from the pool ?

if you getting 56 Mh/s hashrate consistently, I think you already have done the best OC for your 1080 Ti.

Yup. It's been hashing at stable 56mh/s for over a month with ~56.1 mh/s effect speed at pool.

Power limit is at 100%?

Nope. It's at 80%
