1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: September 28, 2014, 03:17:36 PM
A week ago I wrote about good PR-strategy BCN needed to become more popular. Now I think maybe BCN should start huge charity campaign for its' promotion. What do you think?
How about to support some religion by sending them Bytecoins? Our community can become popular just because the Pope will say "thanks folks". Nice idea?
Charity is good thing without any doubts. But why religion? there are a lot of other good ideas where new people can be attracted from

That's weird but I also remember that there were an announcement that told there is going to be 4 parts. Maybe the author has changed his mind?
Bytecoin reddit says that there are 4 parts http://www.reddit.com/r/BytecoinBCN/comments/2fu7on/mysteries_and_puzzles_behind_the_cryptonote/
However this topic contain a link to the Coinsource website and guess what?   Coinsource website let us know that there are only three parts
(Proof: http://www.coinssource.com/the-mysteries-and-puzzles-behind-the-cryptonote-technology/)
That's what I'm talking about. As the Agent99 said... maybe the author has changed his mind?

If I was a developer, I would always conceal my personal details at least for security reasons. I'm concerned about possible persecution by the government and abuse by hackers.

Just an observation. I've seen several people trying to throw shade on Bytecoin using developer's anonymity as an argument.
Why in this world would anybody tell their real names when the coin is anonymous, moreover it's all about anonymity? As @Levis said before, staying anonymous is safer

If they don't like anonymity they better not deal with crypto. Go to the bank, get another credit card, you will know all the names and you will have to provide yours. Undecided
Not knowing Bytecoin's devs real names does not bother me at all.
So far i'm enjoying my experience with Bytecoin and i'm sure it will keep getting better and better. Btw, Bytecoin price is going up on coinmarketcap again Cheesy.

Hello, BitcoinWisdom. I'm a regular visitor on your site and i'm enjoying it so far. I have a suggestion though.
Probably you have already heard about Bytecoin http://bytecoin.org/, the first alternative cryptocurrency. Would be great if you could add it.

Thanks in advance.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Major update NOW! on: August 16, 2014, 06:05:03 PM
There is one thing about the new update that literally made my day. Have you guys seen how much RAM space is taken by BCN blockchain?  Grin Its 500 MB! 500! Even shitty computers can handle it.

What do you think, Dstrange?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: August 09, 2014, 07:58:37 PM

I'm tired of waiting...

Patience, my friend. When Byecoin developers say there will be an update  it means THERE WILL BE AN UPDATE, it's just a question of time.

I know, i have no doubts in Bytecoin developers.

I just saw some Monero troll said that he doesnt post here anymore because nothing is happening and apparently we are not relevant.
And you know what - i agree, we need more ACTION!

As the first CryptoNote coin, Bytecoin will always be relevant. The Bytecoin devs have always been really quiet for some reason though. DStrange said something about something big coming up soon didn't he? Has it already happened? Anyone have any news of what it could be?

Indeed, recently DStrange told us that there's going to be new implementations and updates but , as far as I know, it hasn't happened yet. I haven't heard what exactly devs are going to show us but now we are able to talk to them -  https://twitter.com/Bytecoin_BCN/status/496935769744105472 ! Smiley

I'm tired of waiting...

this is big step for XMR I think : https://www.poloniex.com/press-releases/2014.07.23-Poloniex-Welcomes-New-Monero-XMR-Markets
I have to say they have really good promotion.

Speaking about promotion! Only one question: How much$$$ ??

This actually says a lot about what you guys think building a coin is about, and probably why you are falling farther and farther behind.

The answer is zero. No money was paid. Poloniex decided on their own this is something their customers would want. I have no idea if they are right but I guess they know their business better than I do.

He/she doesn't represent everyone on this thread (or the Bytecoin community). I think some of the people here feel threatened by Monero and its advancements so they say things like 'how much money was paid?'. This competitive mentality you guys have is something I hate, why can't both Monero and Bytecoin be successful together? Why does the Monero community have to constantly be hostile towards other coins? I dislike Monero for the same reason I disliked Darkcoin at the moment. Why can't we just be friends?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5FfJ89rGPc

Blowing out someone else's candle won't make yours shine any brighter Smiley

Obviously i don't represent the whole community. What you see here is my personal opinion. mine and nobody else's. Im not threatened by Monero, i just think that not everything is fair in this game. Also i would be much more loyal if Monero guys were not so trollish. Undecided

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bytecoin [BCN] vs MONERO [XMR] who will be the winner in the Cryptonote War on: July 23, 2014, 08:41:12 AM
Wow, comments up there are.... amazingly ignorant. Monero supporters started celebrating waay too early.  Cheesy

Where are we celebrating? We are fighting for our coin, it's really that simple.

Many Monero supporters never supported an alt coin before, we see something great in Monero.

But please, what scamcoin would you prefer us to be buying?

I'm sorry, but a "scamcoin" must be something you have already bought and now trying to "fight" for it.

The only obvious scamcoin in this discussion is Bytecoin.

The market had already decided that long ago, Monero is establishing higher lows after rallies while BCN is slowly dying as more people learn themselves that it's a huge premine scam instead of listening to all the (paid) Bytecoin trolls/shills.

Also BCN volume is pathetic, between 0.5-1% of Monero's. There is absolutely no need for Monero users to "fight" in this discussion because Bytecoin dug it's own grave the second the premine began.

And now you're just contradicting yourself. No need to "fight" in this discussion? Then why are you here?

Anyway, Im really sorry for those who got fooled by Monero trolls. Sad

I saw Bytecoin was added to hitbtc exchange, i checked the website and really liked it. The community seems nice as well,so i think i'm in!

The community is really nice, you're right. However, trolls can visit us sometimes. They will most likely insult you, just ignore them. Good luck!

The name is not that big of a deal actually. What is more important is that people finally started creating soft, or at least trying to.

Yeah, who the hell needs number 1500 currency clone when our soft is... let's say far from perfect?! Dude made a nice wallet, useful thing, he can use whatever name he wants.
