1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bank of America Patents Blockchain Security Tools on: September 11, 2018, 09:32:03 AM
Permissioned chain seems the best choice for entities providing financial services since it's more secure, faster and can be innovated faster as it only requires the “vote” of the attendees or owners of the permissioned blockchain unlike public chain such as bitcoin that needs core change which takes longer and usually results to fork.
I hope Bank of America become one of the partner banks of Formosa Financial in the near future as the company is bridging the gap between traditional banking and crypto banking
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Promising ICO, what's your metrics? on: September 07, 2018, 07:51:22 AM
After all these news on ICO spending raised funds extravagantly and leaving a few for development, my last metric would be 'Are you using a third-party service for treasury management?
You know they can be very skilled in building a platform but finance/portfolio management is another skill better left with the experts. This is how I appreciate the platform that is being built by Formosa Financial - they'll be a gamechanger not only for ICOs but for digital asset exchanges and individuals with large crypto assets.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / You cant cash out with Tether, you do know that right? on: September 04, 2018, 08:18:15 AM
So what's the point of it being pegged to 1 USD per token if it's not as good as cash? Yes, it will save your portfolio on dumps but wouldn't it be nicer if you can conveniently convert to cash with lesser fees to BTC or ETH instead of letting it sit in the exchange or wallet for a while until the market favors your orders? In TUSD, you can do so but the platform isn't fully developed yet and I can say they are a LOT better than Tether.

Now there's another... with far more options with your crypto, especially if you're holding a large sum of it just like the ICOs that raised thousands of Ether or BTC. Not only will it help you to cost-effectively convert your crypto to fiat ( currently it's BTC ETH XRP confirmed) but you can also earn INTEREST on it. Sounds amazing right?

You do know that most incredible ICOs are developers, not fund managers, say GoNetwork. Their skills are in developing or creating a useful platform and not balancing portfolios and hedging risk - thus why there's more need for a company that not only believes in blockchain but also runs blockchain in their financial services. This is where Formosa Financial comes in. A B2B one-stop platform for digital asset management, offering a customizable suite of custodial, brokerage, and risk management services. Brokerage is ICOS' need to conveniently and cost-effectively convert say ETH into fiat for operational costs. Formosa is partnering up not only with crypto custodial but with fiat custodial -- the banks.

4  Economy / Economics / Re: when you sell out of panic, you are contributing to the dump! on: September 04, 2018, 06:49:03 AM
You also have to consider the hundreds of ICO projects who need to protect their funds to survive. Right now there aren't many projects out there that have a risk management plan for their raised ETH, so they're dumping and converting to fiat to prevent price depreciation. Thankfully some projects out there that are solving this exact problem [2].

Disclosure: I hold FMF tokens.

Agree! Formosa can help the crypto startups in their risk management so their portfolio value will be protected on extreme price volatility
I also have a stake in Formosa and do see the hard work the team is putting together to finalize the platform. This is one info-packed interview by the CEO Ryan Terribilini

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best crypto to buy now? on: August 28, 2018, 08:34:03 AM
Hi - Newbie here..I would like to put down 1000 USD next week.. What would your advice be to me?

Are you still in crypto investing up to this point? 2019 will be a better year for crypto. Check Omnilytics Platform, will have the ICO before the year ends.
Omnilytics has architected a distributed data network. It aggregates datasets from all industries and combines crowd-sourced and under-utilized artificial intelligence to create singularized processed datasets with infinite use cases. Through this, they provide enterprise-grade data and machine learning tools for everyone. It will be functional across multiple chains, networks, and communities.

Fun facts:
1. CEO : Kendrick Wong is also the CEO of Shoppr and have won every hackathon in Malaysia and the United Kingdom
2. Omnilytics is on the business of data analytics since 2014 with huge clients like Adidas Uniqlo Shiseido et al
3. They have 16 strategic partners and investors including XRP Capital and Signum Capital
4. You can try their free insights here: https://omnilytics.co
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there hope? Can we still make a bigger profit from altcoins this year? on: August 24, 2018, 06:13:31 AM
Hmn there's still hope in altcoins, particularly on projects that centers around real use in businesses. HYPE only works for a while but not crypto companies such as Omnilytics Platform that are surely and steadily building the largest decentralized data platform for all.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My last bet on cryptocurrency investing on: August 22, 2018, 09:47:59 AM
Betting on crypto is too risky, don't you think so? I like crypto but I don't like to mix it with other too risky projects like this one here, the possible loss is too large.

Yes high volatility in crypto makes it a too risky investment but worth it. This project im pertaining to is https://platform.omnilytics.co/
With solid business/team/roadmap in place, I dont see it as a 'risky' project'
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Coin Will be Next after Ripple/XRP , Cardano/ADA & Ontology/ONT on: August 21, 2018, 09:55:41 AM
I think ONT is trying to put varied industries in one ecosystem. Personally I go for companies that has one niche for FOCUS. Say, ONT will be doing data aggregation aside from DEX , identity verification et al. There's an upcoming ICO that deals and is proven with data aggregation and analytics. Big clients like Adidas and Salavatorre Ferragamo Uniqlo et al. check their roadmap here https://platform.omnilytics.co/
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What should I go for? on: August 20, 2018, 08:15:41 AM
I want to invest  $500 in crypto market. I have studied a little bit about the market. As I am not experienced in this sector, I am a little bit confused where should I invest?
I know my capital is too little.
Would it be wise to invest in Alt coins?
Or should I go for the ICOs?

Invest with real business set up already and hardworking team like omnilytics platform, that's where money is. bet on just an idea and you're bound to lose. It's an ICO but public ICO is to be announced. follow their social accounts to get on the sale first
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / My last bet on cryptocurrency investing on: August 20, 2018, 07:47:24 AM
You do know data analytics is big thing across all business, huge and small? so this ICO , no announcement yet of public ICO, has been doing data analytics on big fashion brands and Hedge funds and will be revolutionizing data analytics now WITH blockchain technology applied. As per their whitepaper:

====
WHY We want to democratise access to market intelligence and data across geographies, industries, individuals, SMEs, and big companies. Every decision we take is driven by the end goal of levelling out information asymmetries across the business world. In short, democratisation of data.

HOW We disrupt the current global market intelligence industry by creating a self-reinforcing ecosystem, whereby every actor in the system is incentivised towards the end goal of reinforcing the system itself.

WHAT I. scalable nodes, fast and low-cost data II. data demand variation infrastructure: allow all players to directly tap into our data pools III. fully transparent, verifiable, auditable data and data sources IV. end-to-end tracking, allowing individuals and Data Partners to track the consumption of data
===

Finally a crypto company with real use case
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Promising ICO, what's your metrics? on: August 15, 2018, 06:48:32 AM
To be honest I focus more on the team's credibility and the concept that they are trying to implement. Other things like Whitepaper, roadmap and community comes later. In my opinion ICOs should be invested on based on the information they provide about their plans of future rather than the financial information which can vary from ICO to ICO.

Yes the team composition is one major thing. Check out Formosa Financial team and it's clear they are credible for the ongoing project they have
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Promising ICO, what's your metrics? on: August 15, 2018, 05:50:41 AM
This time, my opinion is, except your criteria above, we can consider ICOs from China, they rarely public information on Bitcointalk or other ICO-listing sites, but we can see that they often reached hardcap then after ICO and listed on exchange, Their token still kept the ICO price.

haha that doesnt look like a good thing, I'm not racist but Chinese has unfair business practices including businessmen supporting or obliged to return the favor back to other businessmen that did them a favor. Investors just think 'the Chinese market is the next big thing' and jump to its projects.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Digital First Banking Meets Blockchain on: August 14, 2018, 10:21:32 AM
Putting the current crypto prices aside, the reality that blockchain and cryptocurrency can disrupt financing and banking still holds true. I haven't seen other startup as clear as this one in innovating banking solutions for crypto companies like other ICOs and crypto exchanges and high net worth individuals for their crypto assets.

Been following the updates and checking on partnership as the team composition already got me in. This is solving real -world problem as we embark on blockchain era. Im sharing not to shill but to inform others since this didn't have public ICO and it's under the radar yet unlike those Chinese ICOs that bandwagoners jumps into.

15  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcointalk is like a History Channel, dont you think? on: August 08, 2018, 01:21:25 PM
It's a bit fun reading the topics and the panic people have when bitcoin was less than $1000. I believe most of us have once said "if I could back to 2009 I would have bought bitcoins" you know the choice between red and blue pill? where the blue can take you years back with all the knowledge you have now versus to the instant million dollar pill. So I console myself, even if bitcoin is around $6000 now, that this could be cheap price still years from now..
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 80% of ICOs are Scams on: August 08, 2018, 09:19:22 AM
would be wise to invest on ICOs that follows regulatory reqts, they cant run away with the money just like that. Check out the space in Taiwan where the likes of Formosa Financial are actively engaging the government officials into talks about crypto regulation. https://technode.com/2018/08/06/taiwans-crypto-scene-is-booming-but-still-needs-a-clearer-regulatory-framework-to-thrive/
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Formosa Financial- Financial Services for Blockchain Innovators on: August 08, 2018, 07:58:56 AM
Given the CEO's background it's suffice to believe that he , George Hsieh, has deep connections to Taiwan government and banks. I heard Jeffrey Huang has connections to crypto exchanges as well.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best ICO to invest ? on: August 06, 2018, 08:55:50 AM
Formosa Financial - resolves the issue faced by many ICOs in getting access to banking system ( for cash needs on operations ), also caters for individual with large digital holdings for custodial services. Basically a commercial/investment bank for crypto startups and individuals.

Hycon - aims to put blockchain and cryptocurreny into wider users through its blockchain-based business solutions and a decentralized exchange. Parent company, Glosfer, is a leading blockchain technology and services in South Korea

Both have team with solid experience in the field and have good connections in their respective industries.
However, you can only get it now through the secondary market.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with tokens - hold or sell? on: August 06, 2018, 08:26:53 AM
true, depends on the token. i think tokens which have passed some regulatory requirements are for hold since if the company/developer behind it spent time doing their records straight with the authority and to other financial institutions, it's a good signal that they are for seriously building the project in full. like the stock market, if the business is fully pledged to the company's growth, it's a Hold for sure.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think this year will be Red? on: August 06, 2018, 08:13:12 AM
I think this year would be a battle of which crypto startup are serious about bringing the benefit of blockchain in the society. If the only factor is the price alone, then you'll get trapped holding the many shitcoins which are for pump and dump only. Consider the likes of Hycon , Formosa Financial, Omnilytics
