1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: March 05, 2014, 06:48:36 PM
Terk - Any reason why Unexchanged over the last few days never flushes out more than 25-30% of its total? Is this an exchange issue or more script driven? I think most miners would agree its a better feeling to have these balance areas flushed out periodically to ensure performance in total is on par with prior days.

Thanks!

anyone else notice this distro kicks the eth0 offline randomly?

Funny how this seems to be a huge headache for many BAMT and SMOS users yet it remains.. How can you promote a reliable system when Network Manager boots cgminer offline?

The fix is here..

From Pitobread on Reddit..

"remove network manager

apt-get install wicd
apt-get remove network-manager*

That will most likely fix it. Network manager crashes and in turn crashes the computer"

is it possible to set auto reboot when the rig hangs?
Please add this feature  Grin.. This would really make hosting remote rigs which do not have port forwarding much more self sufficient and hands off.

My rigs are still bouncing around between --failover and CM. Lets hope this gets settled quick as my rigs don't always bounce around pools all day and stay at 100%... Stability is the #1 goal, rejects are a distant second if profits well exceed LTC.

Keep an eye out for altcoinplex.com.
Currently alpha, but it's rather unique compared to other multi-pools. I just noticed them today and moved 1.5Mh over - see what payout is like tomorrow. It's a bit like mining in the dark right now.

Seems a little too MC clonish compared to WaffleHouse and CleverBros.. Way limited list of alts mined as well.. We want the newbies to be ultra nimble and act like PI's hunting down coins with good concepts and promotion ideas. For all I care they could scrape the top three rank sites and strictly mine those and trade a small portion by hand to time pumps. Anywho lets hope MC can get back its momentum..

Private coin trades are all fine and dandy but you are basically wanting someone to speculate with your money?
Two of the things you mentioned sound like investing with no short term gain and the other.. Riding alt trains does not make sense unless you mean hold the coins and see what happens (speculate again).

Might as well have the admin send it to satoshi dice once a day to see if we can double the profit or nothing...  i highly doubt users will be happy with low payouts for a month in speculation of one of your ideas will pan out three months from now. They will all leave.

Multipools organically involve mining and trading.. Having someone in charge who creatively makes more than what simple autosell scrypts do is an asset. Its too bad that MC H20 hasn't devloped his front end and communications to match his backroom dealings. The secret nature of MC is what kept many here; however being too secret when the house of cards is falling is either cocky or naive when Kilotons are leaving in droves. Who knows, the weight of that amount of hash power may be more of a hinderance than a benefit to the long term pool survival? This could all be planned for all we know.

My other ideas are more launch point thoughts into where I see mining evolving into.. Imagine two rigs... One that pays the bills, and the other focused on only coin ipo's, alt-trains, and coin business investments. Both serve a purpose and have different return upsides.

My 7MH has regretfully moved along to the Clever/Wafflehouse for now... MC H20 has a nice position in this game, but seems to be content with letting the castle crumble under the weight of supporting Kilotons of hash..

Like any money manager, past performance is no guarantee of future returns..

Lets hope someone else can take what made MC great (secret backdoor trades, jumping Doge during high reward rounds, etc) and build out a place where it isn't all mine > autotrade > BTC, aka the rest.

We need a "Alt-man Brothers" type of firm where miners can allocate hashpower to fund private coin trades, coin launch IPO's, ride the alt trains, and/or fund BTC ventures... all for a simple 3.88% fee of course  Grin. These activities are what can take simple hash power and magnify it to real returns while also building business in the field.

I have the same PSU and Mobo combo.. Had some issues with the EVGA not firing the BTC-81 if I connected the Molex to the mobo. I'd test this right away when you get your CPU and ram installed. I am RMA'ing the PSU so just a heads up it may just be a defective unit i've been dealing with.

As far as risers go, you only need 1X regular risers.. The Molex takes care of the rest unless you want to add 1-2 powered 1x risers just to be safe. PSU #1 should power the mobo, cpu, molex and up to 3 GPU's. GPU 4,5,6 should be powered by a second 1000-1200w PSU. This setup will give you both breathing room and the ability to expand/adjust if you are able to drop voltages on the cards.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New site for analysing crypto coins on: February 12, 2014, 06:08:05 PM
Nice site!

Some feature request ideas....

Sub Coin Pages - Adding sub pages for each coin would be a great feature where people can learn about coins launch date, unique qualities, developers, internet trends, tweets, mine volume charts, etc.

Coin Ratings - Certain elements  of each coin can be used to calculate a rating which help both miners and investors target coins with unique features, popularity, and future development. Stopping the pumping/dumping of crap clone coins will bring some fresh air to the crypto alt scene.

Can you seat the slow/inactive card directly to the mobo?

Use this code to activate all the cards

sudo aticonfig --initial -f --adapter=all

Reboot..

Then input the following to ensure cgminer sees everything

 ./cgminer -n

Finally signed up here to comment on this coin launch due to a ton of opportunities not yet discussed that this coin could benefit us all by...  A higher premine may be warranted if specifically used for the purposes stated below..

Setup a foundation feature that pools a portion of block rewards to actual medical research (voted on by members) or help cover costs for medical course expenses paid by aspiring students (school or elected person). If a school/doctor were to be rewarded with funds from Cura and becomes a physician, they could be more willing to grow with the causes Cura promotes and may even provide the services discussed on the first post at reduced costs.

A portion of block rewards could be used to fund development of ipad or android based medical equipment (meaning they are the devices that communicate vitals to the remote doctor/nurse) that will allow doctors/nurses to provide remote checkups for impoverished villages, disease outbreaks, or places that are affected by natural disasters.

Portions of block rewards could be provided to farmers in select communities where produce is more scarce and obesity/diabetes rates are higher. These farmers can then provide discounts to local stores to keep product expenses lower. A Cura sticker on the produce can mark items the coin directly helped.

Hope some of these ideas can be discussed further as it creates a network effect beyond direct mining.
