Nitrogen has an option under "Specials" section that lets you bet on price of BTC whether under or over 654.433 on August 4:

Winkdex at 443. Is some exchange going crazy or is there a bug?

This would be even more exciting if Karpeles/Willy didn't happen. Nice, steady growth from $100 in early 2013.

If this gets too big, we're gonna have to go through all the 'China bans bitcoin' statements again, no? China debt sounds nasty, economy screeching to a halt, so they bump capital controls and bitcoin goes up. How long is the ride up before people can cash out into real estate or government makes a new threat?

Still waiting for a single trade of any frequency on Silbert's OTC market. This stuff is always exciting until it isn't...

Hope I'm not disrupting the Troll Observer thread.

Anyone have an opinion on Bitreserve? They just poached a Nike exec and have a bitcoin-to-precious-metals feature that is at first glance intriguing. Looking into it, the poached exec who will be COO says he'll be surprised if bitcoin the currency exists in five years. Is this just a questionable hire for a fringe bitcoin company or what? This sentiment is voiced constantly, but not usually from within the industry.

Bought at .0038, put a sell in at .0046. Missed it by that much. Is this the start of another multi-month decline or a blip? Thank you for your valuable insight.

Over-The-Counter - OTC

DEFINITION OF 'OVER-THE-COUNTER - OTC'
A security traded in some context other than on a formal exchange such as the NYSE, TSX, AMEX, etc. The phrase "over-the-counter" can be used to refer to stocks that trade via a dealer network as opposed to on a centralized exchange. It also refers to debt securities and other financial instruments such as derivatives, which are traded through a dealer network.

INVESTOPEDIA EXPLAINS 'OVER-THE-COUNTER - OTC'
In general, the reason for which a stock is traded over-the-counter is usually because the company is small, making it unable to meet exchange listing requirements. Also known as "unlisted stock", these securities are traded by broker-dealers who negotiate directly with one another over computer networks and by phone.

Although Nasdaq operates as a dealer network, Nasdaq stocks are generally not classified as OTC because the Nasdaq is considered a stock exchange. As such, OTC stocks are generally unlisted stocks which trade on the Over the Counter Bulletin Board (OTCBB) or on the pink sheets. Be very wary of some OTC stocks, however; the OTCBB stocks are either penny stocks or are offered by companies with bad credit records.

Instruments such as bonds do not trade on a formal exchange and are, therefore, also considered OTC securities. Most debt instruments are traded by investment banks making markets for specific issues. If an investor wants to buy or sell a bond, he or she must call the bank that makes the market in that bond and asks for quotes.

Anyone else getting dollars credited into bank accounts after a Coinbase sale dramatically more quickly?

Hey Vlad, can you get the Winklevosses to list Bitcoin's twin, IxCoin, on their twin-themed, Gemini exchange? It would seem that the coin prophets have spoken.

The link was posted on bloomberg two weeks ago...

ya but why is winki only tweeting it now?

He could have been busy. I hope it's because something actually changed Smiley

Unfortunately, I think he was just busy as Cameron didn't tweet at all for 10 days. But Tyler Winklevoss tweeted it out July 3.

Does Monero have an alternative, desirable destination besides the moon? I'm checking Expedia and have a BTC burning a hole in my pocket.

Putting on a spacesuit just to go outside seems kind of 1960s to me. I think.."To da penthouse in Singapore" or "I just bought Dick Clark's old mansion in Malibu" seem more fitting for version 2.0. Not to take anything away from a nice castle.

Do you guys expect a boom/bust/boom for bitcoin or just one swing up into Nasdaq Heaven?

What percentage of bitcoin can iXcoin reasonably maintain in a bitcoin bull run?

Edit: Guess I can't put links in yet. If you guys can see the text in the link, just put "ws" at the beginning, it's a Wall St. Journal article

Hi, greetings from the vast newbie/lurker community.

Would anyone care to speculate or provide a link as to the ramifications of $1 billion being dropped on the market as a long-term buy/hold. I suppose this probably won't happen until Wall Street or some other regulated exchange is able to be used. Just a random, large number I picked, but I'm new to all this and am curious as to how people will react the when/if the next round of big money shows up.

Thanks for your thoughts, ideas, and pictures.
