What's everyone's predicted growth of BTG over this year? I think this is my new favorite coin. Bitcoin + Equihash = Win.

So I made the mistake of sending some BTG to my local BTG wallet. Unfortunately, the gargantuan blockchain will probably never sync. I haven't been able to find any trustworthy online wallets. Is there any way I can get my BTG out of the local wallet without waiting 17 months for it to sync?
If you're lucky there might be an electrum version released before you finish syncing. If that happens then all you would have to do is import privkey. As for now goes??? Good luck. I completely wiped the data and restarted the sync. It's working better now. Beforehand, I was trying to sync both BTG and Omni-core, as well as mining on the same machine. Apparently these wallet programs are like girlfriends, and they don't want to share or for there to be any other priorities.

Let's dash our hopes against the dream of it being a penny first before we start talking about dollars.

I'd say OMNI. It was the first of the dynamic trio (Counterparty, Ethereum, Omni (Mastercoin previously)). I don't know if people have forgotten about it, or if the community is mostly new people who don't even know about it. Also, it seems the Omni devs have moved at a slower pace for one reason or another. I have a feeling it'll eventually take off, though.

Not even close. I made a few thousand in crypto, but that's it. I got into it 2013, and I was either underemployed or unemployed from then until last year. I never had much to invest. I bought into Ethereum at the initial offering, but I only had $20 to spare. So I bought 60eth for $20. I also considered mining Bitcoin, or buying Bitcoin when it was $5/coin, but I just didn't have the funds for mining gear or to make a substantial investment.
I'm sure if I had had real money to invest back then, I could have done a lot better.

I've never had any problems with it. Just seems like a standard disclaimer. "This is life. Who knows what could go wrong? Don't lynch mob us if lightning strikes you in the ass."
Is this the only thread on here related to Omni?

Setting up a new system and just had a "MSVCR120.dll was not found" message pop up. Anyone have any knowledge about this error?
If there's a file called msvcr120_clr0400.dll in windows/system32, just make a copy of it and rename the copy to msvcr120.dll.

Ah, so it was a new blockchain. C'est la vie. Long time ago, too.
I haven't kept up with Crypto since last year. I mined Ruby when it first came out, and bought some, too. Used to hang out on freenode with kassado and binaryclock. Last time I went on there I couldn't find anyone I used to know. Seemed like coin mining just died, so I took a long hiatus from crypto.
Well, good luck with the new chain and coin. I'm moving to just keep a few things on a couple exchanges now and get rid of all of these wallets. It's just too much to constantly keep track of.

Downloaded the latest Ruby wallet, copied my wallet.dat file into the appropriate directory, but I get an error when I load the program. It says "Warning: error reading wallet.dat! All keys read correctly, but transaction data or address book entries might be missing or incorrect."
Did Ruby start over with a new blockchain? I haven't tried to load the wallet in over a year.
Thanks.

I've purchased some XCPs @ poloniex, and want to withdraw it, is there a way to do it without using counterpatyd.exe? For example, for MSC you just need to create new address in your bitcoin wallet, will the same work with XCP?
yes. (keep in mind that you wont be able to send the xcp back to poloniex without counterpartyd) And good luck getting that working right, because the devs don't read or respond to the technical support section on the counterparty forums.

This coin has more fail written on it than a pregnant nun.

Holy sh!t, would you people quit making all these new sh!tcoins. You're flooding the market with more and more trash every day. We have no need for cryptoapples, or buttnuggetbucks, or CoinanOBriens, or whatever idiotic celebrity/meme/fiatcopy/fruit/gem/etc you dipsh!ts come up with. JUST STOP.

The volume of the sell orders on coinmarket.io is so low, anyone with a single bitcoin could probably pump the price over 5000sat. People just keep posting these piddly little sell orders, driving the ticker price down, but at such a low volume, it hardly means much. Really, this coin just needs one moderate investor to take an interest and the price will shoot up.
Someone earlier moved the price from around 2000 sat to 3000 sat with around 0.11-0.12 btc. That's like $60-$65...chump change.

It's significantly faster than BTC or LTC, stable, and not based on memes or cats. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-KoD7Eg-1AWhile it may not be appealing to a seventeen year-old miner sitting at home in his mom's basement with a good strong grip on his... mouse, its design and utility would be highly appealing to businesses that want a currency with fast transaction times, a support team of highly knowledgeable devs, and a conveyance of professionalism.

Six minutes between posts for a new member isn't unreasonable, but the timer resets even if you navigate through the forum. For instance, if I find something I want to post on, I have to make sure not to touch that browser window or look at anything else on the forum for six minutes, else the counter will reset. I find that a bit strange.
