wow. 10 BTC I thought you no longer in HUC? You say last week sold shares time ago? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=435170.msg18322257#msg18322257

10btc is 10000USD I wish

I bought some 3 days ago, feeling the same pump/dump schema that happens when there is some airdrop
anyway what i gain is a fraction of the effort i put into this coin during these 3 years

what is chimaera? any link please?
except of that .org with zero information

there is no much information yet or they are waiting for huntercoin snapshot to finish first?

If it is same team that make Huntercoin then I think they dont need prototype

anybody need to explain, showcase, create a PoC of a project that aim to be crowfunded, more so a team that is definitely not been a harbinger of continuous updates, don't you think?
And if you consider that most of the people here think that chimaera coin is another game...

I didn't expected more, i successfully liquidated my position (i just had 100k) at 0.001, sorry for who gets burn, this is crypto-coins world

congrats on your trade. you deserve some payout for your work.

thanks and probably you got some too Smiley
even if I recovered what i lost shorting XRP (plus a little).
Despite you "know"/feel it's a pump, you don't know how long/far that pump goes... i timed wrongly and was too confident during night, to end having a nice surprise next morning Smiley

Quote
and heavy 24-hr volume today... wow  Grin

yes volume was high!
even if seems to follow the same pattern you see with other low marketcap coins: accumulate, then pump on FOMO buying self positions, and distribute at peeks
and often you see that pattern repeated 2 or 3 times in a week, this is why i wouldn't be surprised to see a dump post snapshot and then a pump after the next accumulation phase

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - FREE Chimaera Coins for HUC Holders at Block 1680000 on: April 04, 2017, 08:44:10 PM
did you manage to withdraw any BTC from Poloniex?

They seem to be automatically deferring any withdrawal requests to "Awaiting Approval"

actually i didn't moved any BTC today, i could try later to move some
in the past i didn't had problem (i just had to confirm a link on an email polo send when you want to withdraw)

--
Update:
just tried to withdraw 0.1 btc, i just had to enter my 2FA 6 digits, confirm the email and now i'm wating the standard bitcoin confirmation time (i see the tx listed as pending in polo transaction history)

I think polo official notice on CHI redemption will be actual pump trigger.

which note?
quoting snailbrain post about polo notice
Quote
It's okay to announce that we will redeem balances for people and allow withdrawals, but it is important to clarify that this is in no way a promise of a listing (Not that we're ruling a listing out).

it seems to me they are delegating to snailbrain to communicate that, this doesn't mean they will communicate that too, otherwise why wait less than one day to release the notice?

I could be wrong but i think they will not release any note
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - FREE Chimaera Coins for HUC Holders at Block 1680000 on: April 04, 2017, 07:58:23 PM
Seems like storm is coming  Grin
Looks like a Pump and Dump to me.

I didn't expected more, i successfully liquidated my position (i just had 100k) at 0.001, sorry for who gets burn, this is crypto-coins world

P.S.
a little math: market cap at 0.001 = 1.678 M$ ... and this rapresents a 5% of the chimaera coins so what did people expect, chimaera being worth 33Mil $ on release?

but as said this is crypto-coins world, where price manipulation is real (just watch what happened to Ripple few days ago, where i got burned shorting it btw Cheesy)

and for a real dump wait tomorrow... but hey... some whale could even play on huc rising it even more after the snapshot to trap other people, who knows...

P.S.
basing prices on the fact that HUC value goes almost to nothing after snapshot, so just do the delta between my numbers and your HUC target price post-snapshot to do your considerations
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - FREE Chimaera Coins for HUC Holders at Block 1680000 on: March 25, 2017, 12:10:44 AM
snail,

how is 5% calculated? since there are 16.8 million HUC at block 1680000, is it that 5% of 336 million CHI = 16.8 million HUC ?

OR

#_HUC_converted_to_CHI * 20 = total CHI supply?

thanks!

remember even about the locked coins in gamefund, now they are
1321044.36861456 (1.3 M!)

I'm stating this here because i don't even want to give a chance to use that funds under the hood... better to be clear.
Of course now we give him the chance to change numbers (did you seen snail? not being clear makes people having nasty thoughts)
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - FREE Chimaera Coins for HUC Holders at Block 1680000 on: March 25, 2017, 12:03:33 AM
these are the things that convince me that i made the right decision when i stopped to support huntercoin.
this is very sad, as sad is the fact that there are no details about how you achieved that 5% value you talk about in the pdf (I suspect the final value will be even less! e.g. a lot is lock on gamefund and i suspect they even consideret the total 42mil supply and not the actual value, so without clear numbers take even that 5% with caution)

- no details on chimera
- not even clear numbers about total supply

based on my experience on huntercoin, i wouldn't invest on chimaera and even the fact that "The Bitcoin Co-op" isn't anymore involved makes me wonder...

At least now, some people will stop to act as cheerleaders on this topic, and people can focus on more important and serious projects out there

P.S.
there is nothing fancy about creating a "gaming platform", it's just a matter of using already available techs like having pegged sidechains and eventually some masternodes, and some kind of lightning network to handle lot of transactions (if needed), I'm even planning to do something similar on Startis (a serious blockchain platform) in future. All tech pieces already available, so I don't understand even why keep this 007 mood, hiding every details that are vital to people who want to decide if invest or not.

anyway I'm not surprised about the LOW % and the fact that he shown to old supporter how he doesn't care about them (luckily i sold my shares times ago) but i'm more concerned about how unprofessional this project started already, without any kind of information, PR, community management or anything else... what's the point about hyping the platform before even having a simple website with basic information available?...

About HUC, i hope someone will fork it and push it on the right track, it deserve to survive and improve, gameplay fixed, etc.., even if the original team stopped to support it.

If someone will carry on it, I'll give my support by resurrecting my client

well... have a nice time

you can try with -zapwallettxes command line arguments (not console command)

not sure if domob ported this, but i think yes because bitcoin already had it at the time of porting, so refer to bitcoin docs for that command line argument:

9  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Mining alghoritms on: February 07, 2017, 01:33:04 AM
Despite the fact that in every enterprise the cost to run the enterprise has to be lowered as much as possible, and a system that scale up in cost isn't a solution that anyone would like to adopt, my point here isn't about arguing if the mining process is good or not (and tbh I know it's necessary to secure the network), but about collecting the various mining alghrithm available, not necessarily for bitcoin itself.

Moreover i'd like to know if someone ever attempted to do some kind of mix of alghoritms where you don't need to find the zeores required, using just scrypt, or sha or whatever, but a mix of those (so a miner couldn't run just a CPU miner, or a GPU miner, but need both or even more systems). I'm not talking about dual alghos coins, because afaik those are using 2 separate alghoritms that generate blocks on alternate rates (e.g. on huntercoin/namecoin sha and scrypt are set to generate a block every 2 minutes, but it's perceived as a coin that generate a block every minute

I think that having a wide range of mining alghoritms ideas could be beneficial, if not for bitcoin, at least for a generic blockchain technology
10  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Mining alghoritms on: February 06, 2017, 10:38:22 AM
what I'de like to have (or do it myself) is a place where mining alghorits are described, anyway that link is a start to have a little list of alghoritms to research, thanks
11  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Mining alghoritms on: February 06, 2017, 09:47:35 AM
Hi everybody,
What i really don't like about bitcoin is the waste of computing power (= waste of resources) it needs to secure the network, and how things would get worse the more bitcoin becomes successful.

Because of this I was wandering which are, actually, alternative mining alghoritms that you are aware of, and possibly their pros/cons.
I'd mantain such list in this OP and maybe group them up in a website if it could be useful, and discuss about mining alghoritms here to maybe come out with a new greener mining alghoritm or best block generation approach

If a post like this already exists (or website links) then please point me to it
thanks
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - a decentralized world within the Blockchain on: January 21, 2017, 02:37:26 PM
to start i'd just install ubuntu 16.04 server on a VM, install current mysql server, huntercore etc..
not sure what you will need - i can give ssh access or tell me what you want installing.. is it just an exe and i use mono to run it?

will it also update the mysql table(s) realtime when i a new block comes in?

I recently rent 2 micro VM to start hack around with linux and VM and I've your same configuration (ubuntu 16.04 server) but i don't have space/ram to host huntercore or mysql anyway i should be able to work on your VM, i already installed on mine the dotnet core needed (it's just a matter to update apt with a new repository url and then apt-get the needed dotnet-core stuff to be able to compile and run .Net Core app

Anyway i can start implementing and testing on my system, maybe you can create mysql db and tables you'd like to be populated, and let my VM run the daemon that get info from your server (getblockinfo, etc...) and write back on your mysql, so once it's ready it's just a matter to deploy it on your server and i don't need access to your machine
I can give you the IP of my VM so you can allow my machine to connect to your huntercore RPC service

-
for data -
probably 1 table with all the variable info for each block (if you can process gamestate as well, that would be a bonus)..
probably fields such as > blockhieght, algo (0 or 1), difficulty, unix time, median time, size, weight(i should google this i guess), and anything else you can think of
If you can do gamestate stuff as well > Total generals and total hunters, and anything else if it is easy for each block..

only need the raw values (no need to calculate unix time, or put the difficulty type etc).

all that can go in one table..

Could also output getchaintips into another table, although it would be more of a live table with no historical data for ach block .. not sure how i would visualize it but could use to see if there is any forking going on.

Ok I'd say you could:
- configure your VM with huntercore
- install MySQL and create the database with tables you'd like to have populated
- open RPC service to my IP
- give me the connection string to reach your MySql db
- (bonus) install dotnetcore on your server, pretty straightforward ( https://www.microsoft.com/net/core#linuxubuntu )

once that's ready, wait some time that i find the time to do the app and test it and then I'll give you the app or i'll install it on your vm

(would of course need to parse all the blocks from block 1 till now too)
ok so we are talking about 2 components: a realtime one that runs as a daemon that polls the RPC, and an historical one to fill the gaps
note that gathering blocks information is quite fast even on historical data and seems to work even on a pruned node (i need just the header info)

and so if that info is enough would be quite fast to populate the historical data, but gamestate is a loooooot slower

If someone is able to output every block/info to mysql (in realtime too) and configure on my VPS - probably similar to what BGB has done, i will create all the dashboards possible, and upload to tableau public so people can see all the stats in real time - I can also combine this data with crypto-exchange data (tableau's webconnector works with most exchanges with an api that i have tried).

what information did you need to be dumped?
what's your VPS configuration?

I can build something in .Net Core (works on linux) if this can help the community
just something as simple as an RCP wrapper around huntercore, to get some data and save it on mysql or wherever, of course it would need a reachable huntercore on your VPS or another location

well one of the reason as stated above is in the old version we had to walk a mile ~ hour+ to get to the coins less combat, but now we are so close together, combat comes into play more often, so its now more noticeable

I always monitored/played the game since the begin and i never faced so high burst of blocks, except when f2pool halted a bit his power and then restarted

also not having a giant like f2pool to mine 99% of our blocks just adds even more randomness to the mix.

I think this is the main issue, or better there is low mining power and sometimes someone turn on for a bit his horses and BUM...

as you said, this block generation isn't compatible with a turn based game. A turn based system must have a stable timer, or as much stable as possible, or at very least a minimum granted time (about the minimum granted time, i think this is difficult because bitcoin doesn't have a reliable timer, date and times aren't reliable neither)
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - a decentralized world within the Blockchain on: January 21, 2017, 01:47:11 AM
Well if anyone of you actually mined instead of just playing this game, you would all realize mining is a random luck draw, sometimes you find a block in (using btc) 10 mins sometimes longer and sometimes even under 10 mins. Making a turn base game on something that is so random is like playing on a ice lake, one day your going to fall through.

Not to mentioning some blocks get orphaned (like it never happened). Granted its a great idea that humans are the miners instead of ASIC but playing a game of turn base on a engine that is random in nature is not the best idea..

IMO

Icon

I agree, but this never happened with the old version and when we had a f2pool mining the coin.

And look at the screenshot i've just taken, there are 5 or 6 blocks generated per minute.... this isn't a luck matter, this is an hashpower matter or something else

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - a decentralized world within the Blockchain on: January 21, 2017, 01:09:22 AM
i dont know,i dont understand, but bot can adapt with this and for human this is too fast

the problem you have, and that everyone else have, is that block generation is really weird, it's not stable at all, so the theoretic formula of 1 block per minute is screwed, sometimes you see 2 blocks generated in few seconds, sometimes in a couple or more minutes, so this is hard to time at the right moment and often is a matter of luck

of course if you are facing someone who sends a move very quickly while you take time to think and plan your moves, and a block is generated fast before you decide, you probably are dead
on the other side, could happen the opposite: the player/bot who sends the move asap, and doesn't protect his move setting his first waypoint away from enemy, can have his destruct to happen earlier than he wanted thought, and so the hunter is exposed to the other player that took more time before pressing destruct

But i agree that the main problem is that the blocks are often too fast, this is something to investigate but i don't think there is someone cheating, the problem is just that there aren't stable miners (IMHO) or worse, there is some bug in the block generation alghoritm (I don't know if it's custom for huntercoin or not, i think it's a namecoin port but maybe namecoin suffer the same problem, but not being namecoin a turn based game, It can be gone unnoticed)

anyway faster blocks means someone couldn't handle many hunters and this is a good think because it leave spaces for other players to collect HUCs, on the other side if the game mechanics keeps being so simple, the chance that the bots take over is high (hint: ammo/armor system + cooldowns + power ups)
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - a decentralized world within the Blockchain on: January 19, 2017, 10:03:14 AM

the current domintator is MithrilMans bot (afaik).

It's since the game started that you keep linking me with bots, you even though I was BGB, I don't get why you are obsessed by me but ok, go ahead accusing me, pointing fingers at others could be a clue about something to hide.

I never accused you to run bots, I remember domob long time ago created a little framework and he was interested even on creating something (if i remember) that involve ants behaviours
I never accused anyone to run bots (I have to say somewhat i even apprecciate them when they are smart, within a programmer POV) but instead I focused on how to prevent someone running easy bots (without just rising costs or ridiculous fees) and this motivated me to create my client to counter those bots, giving people some tools (like insights and my automatic behaviours)... client that you made me quit to support because of your behaviour and habit to be harsh with people who try to help, and even worse with people who have a different idea than yours.

Now enjoy the consequences, but please do not involve me in your speeches

P.S.
you even said i was the old dominator or that I was splitting the income with him, lol...
about the dominator issue, i agree that could be a good news if and only if no new dominator take his place, otherwise is just changing the dominator name

the unity client doesn't allow to do any invalid moves (moving into an obstacle) so i'm not sure how that could have crashed your client.. it's possible, as with the QT, if the hunter was already moving and then the move became invalid later, because the path then goes through an obstacle, it becomes invalid, in which case it normally stops at the obstacle in the gamestate.

I don't know if it was unity or which client, but the sent transaction, had a waypoint set on a non walkable position and this shouldn't even be accepted in the blockchain i'd say, but maybe that check wasn't included and so went in. Anyway the game logic itself (huntercore) handle it, stopping the movement of the hunter on the last valid positionbut my client assumed (wrongly) that accepted moves were containing only valid waypoints and so my pathfinding+linearization alghoritm (i don't use the rpc call to compute the paths) crashed (of course I fixed that, but i was surprised by the invalid move itself)

Note that I talk about waypoints, so the cells that the user selected building their paths, because the game was already handling the eventual invalid moves that could happen during the linearization process.

P.S.
I'm not sure that invalid moves should be accepted into the blockchain, even if handled, because they violate the consensus rules (game rules). I'm wondering if there are other kind of invalid transactions that could cause bigger troubles

they have "\r\n" and spaces.. this is a known issue caused by MirthilMans client.

Probably MithrilMan has created a bot now that he is using in the game to take over from the last dominator or join forces with him.
Just speculation..

what you see is an evidence of my client, is just an evidence that the command is sent using a formatted (indented) json, and that's the standard behaviour of many libraries (on .Net that's the standard JObject.ToString of Json, the de-facto standard of json).

I'm not even sure if I already "fixed" that problem (there is nothing wrong sending a formatted json, except the wasted space and so a lenghty transaction)

@ OSYA:
During my game sessions, i died several times vs ik guys (and b and r ) in past days, in "weird" ways, often (or better, mostly) when the blocks are generated very fast or very slow, so you should be fair and admit that you won even matches because of strange net behaviour. If you are the *ik* guy, you are playing with around 40/50 hunters, a lot!!!

I even experienced lot of moves that were accepted after 3 blocks, but this could be because of fast block generation and bad timing (when a new block arrive, you send a move but once it reach the miner, a new block has been already been mined) and even pending moves sometimes are misleading, because when you receive one, maybe a block has been already generated and this could lead to unexpected behaviour (you think he'll destroy in 2 block when it explode the very next block)

Anyway I agree that this way the gameplay is compromised, because with too fast blocks the time to react is little and this advantage bots
Did you use a bot with ik? it seems that it caused my client to crash because it sent an invalid move (a waypoint over a non walkable cell). If you are using Unity client than it's a Unity client bug.

Anyway often at night (here) someone turn on mining power because blocks are generated very fast (even 3 per minute), the network need a stable mining network

@Domob/Snailbrain
I installed the unity+huntercore pack with the pruned blockchain (OP link), and when i tried to start the huntercore, it didn't downloaded any blocks, could this because the current nodes are only pruned nodes and i can't update because there are missing blocks from the uploaded version to the current one?
If yes, this prevent any new player to join the game...
