To be honest, it's ridiculous that coin wallets supposedly come with an IRC-based discovery mechanism, but it almost never works and it is necessary to add peers manually. That is quite a barrier to adoption of altcoins. If you download a wallet and it doesn't work out of the box, most people will think it doesn't work at all!

First few hundred blocks have no reward, so give the dev a rest! The launch can still be fair if he manages to release all the binaries in time for everyone to get mining before the real reward blocks start.

Or publish the source at the same time as the binaries so that no one has incentive to DDoS. I guess whoever is DDoSed has compiled the source...

I'll be CPU mining from the beginning, as long as there are windows binaries for wallet and minings. I could reboot into Linux and compile, but I'm not going to go into that hassle. If there are windows binaries, I'll mine to contribute to the fair launch of the coin, though.

Please do the detailed solo mining guide if possible. I know how to solo mine but other people might not, and we don't want another elitist launch with people feeling deceived like with MaxCoin. A currency's value is in people's heads so you need to win those heads.

Any chance of a link to a minerd for Windows? My version of minerd from other coins doesn't understand keccak.
