You're right with what you say. However, as this is a 100% private and self funded project, I can't give away hundreds or even thousands of USD for promotion.
I hope some people share their referral link at no cost. In the worst case they don't lose anything. In the best case they make some bucks.

The MillionDollarDAPP is a homage to the Million Dollar Homepage from 2005. It maintains 1,000,000 pixels which are sold for $1 each.
In contrast to the original, the MillionDollarDapp utilizes latest Web 3.0 technologies to operate in a complete decentralized manner.

It allows you placing ads without cencorship, editing their content and deleting them. But beware: History cannot be changed! Every action you take on this DAPP creates an immutable record on the Ethereum Blockchain - forever! Images are recognized by their "fingerprint" on IPFS (Interplanetary Filesystem) and served as long as anyone in the universe has interest in it.

That allows us to look at the site for any given time in the past. Nobody is able to change records once they are written. Everybody can mirror the site and automatically sees the same contents. Fascinating, huh?

To be allowed to place an ad, one needs so called MDAPP (ERC20 compliant) tokens which are locked as long as you occupy space. Each token represents 10x10 pixels. At the same time, these are the minimum dimensions of your add. The tokens are transferable once all 10,000 tokens have been sold.

It must be a format which includes all layers, filters etc so that we can modify it eventually:

If the extension .cdr also meets these criteria, then it's also permitted.

Infos about the team will follow soon. As this is a fully self funded project with an already working product - not a promise to deliver a testnet launch in 9 months and a mainnet in 2 years - this was not on top of our priority list.
As the tech is now done to 98%, we'll shift our focus more on documentation (team, story, whitepaper, faq).

The current testnet release is just for the sake of hardening the dapps stability and to reach the first people interested in this project.

I don't know what to do with that file format. We have only Linux->Gimp available.

I've just read cdr can be imported to Inkscape. As long as all the layers are accessible, this should be fine, too.

You can let your creativity run wild. Of course, the result should fit the theme of being able to populate one million pixels with pictures.
