1  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [SOLD OUT - IN THE USA] USB Based Powered PCIe Risers $18-$20 on: February 04, 2014, 05:01:11 AM
One thing that is bothering me about this, now that I've actually opened it, is the floppy power connector on the board.  On one of my units the pins aren't even lined up perfectly with one another, but that much I can deal with.  The biggest issue is that the notch on the top of the floppy plug prevents it from sliding smoothly onto the pins, and this is because the plastic base gets in the way.  The plug cannot go in straight and has to come in at an angle, and when applying pressure to get it completely on you feel like you are going to break something.  There is a cut in the plastic base that the notch will eventually snap into once the plug is on far enough, but the process of getting it there is scary.  Not that I think I will ever need to remove the floppy power plug, but it seems like once it snaps on it is not ever coming off.

I'm going to refrain from sliding it completely on until my cards come in and I have no choice but to make it work, but I'm a little troubled by this.  I haven't dealt with a floppy connector in many years, but I don't remember ever having to forcibly jam one onto the pins.  You can take a look at what I'm referring to in the three photos here:

Edit: Eh, whatever, I'm not attaching the power plug yet for the sake of keeping the cable comfortably in the bag until my cards get here, but after messing with it again I'm sure the plugs will go on fine.

Anyone here get a tracking number? I was told I would have one by Sunday. Still nothing.

I paid Friday night, got the tracking number Saturday morning and the package arrived this afternoon (short distance from VA to MD).  The transaction was smooth and I'd be surprised if he doesn't get back to you soon.  I only ordered two so mine was a relatively easy order to process I suppose, but nonetheless he shipped my order.  Hope you get word on your package soon.

I can't attest to whether these work until I [hopefully] get my cards this week, but he definitely shipped me what appears to be a working product.

Placed an order for two of these last night.  I don't have the rest of the parts for my rig yet so I won't be able to attest to whether these work for a week or so but I'll update to confirm once they arrive.
