1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: October 25, 2019, 12:44:15 AM
Hi guys,

im not continously following this project but i just saw that there is a swap? or fork?
Is there a source where i can followup in laymens terms? the announcement on the website is quite confusing.
Thanks in advance for tips!

It is being debated how it will exactly work and not a final plan yet.  The FAQ on their forum is probably the clearest
...

This discussion shows once again, what is missing from the clarity of defining processes and procedures - in NEM and also in other cryptos.
Are the all blinded by the "distributed processes" Smiley  and they like that the information is thrown to many different places.
No, that distribution is the wrong solution here - the information must be "centralized".

In this Topic's (NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs) first post should be a clear link to the main information of the Catapult and all these NEM related issues.
Now there is only the mention that "Its expected release is in 2019".

Also Catapult info must be in one page or even in one post, which is updated while the discussion goes on. Ofc not all the details cannot be updated to that, but such things, which are already decided or which are important issues and may affect to the decisions. (The feedback about NEM "redeeming" should have taught something)

Nightmare! Should all people be professional cryptographers to avoid losing their coins?
Yes, if you are dealing with a shitcoin like NEM. The people behind it have no integrity.

I'm going to make a prediction.

The core team will migrate some huge chunks of their own funds without an opt in because they lost the keys.

I think that's the real reason they are doing things in such an obtuse way. They lost access to a bunch of coins, and instead of admitting they're gonna fork to get it back, like ETH, they'll lie, and break backward compatibility to cover their tracks...

If they admit they can just fork to take back coins, then it makes them look even worse for not solving the coincheck hack that way.

I've been banned from posting in the forums there, but the migration plan being proposed by the migration comittee is completely bonkers. It smells like an attempt to launder funds to me.

The plan will strip anyone not paying attention of all of their funds.... again... just like happened to all the original stakeholders that have been denied stakes.

It's seriously the most brain dead, incompetent or corrupt proposal I've ever seen. Bituser22's solution truly is the only way to properly move forward.

I don't think anyone behind the scenes knows what they are doing at all.

Hey all, I thought I'd let you know what I've been up to lately.

Earlier this week, I flew to Austin to go to the Just Hodl It event at SXSW where NEM was speaking about stuff, and got kicked out of the venue... However, many people there were very interested in my experience with NEM. I was even interviewed on a podcast about the NEM unclaimed stake issue.

Here is a link to the podcast if anyone is interested:

I hope it clarifies my position better, and is spread far and wide.

Hey everybody, I'm still pissed at everyone involved with NEM because of the NEMstake issue where many people on the stakeholders list, including my son and me, were denied coins.

It's clear that the new leadership has no intention of fixing this situation, so I'm getting ready to send out another round of "fuck_this_shitcoin_to_the_ground" mosaics.

I also may try to get the entire blockchain banned in china by spamming a "remember_tiananmen_square" mosaic in remembrance of the 30th anniversary of an uprising against tyranny. I remember seeing Tank Man on tv as a child, and I've always felt inspired by it to stand up to corruption and abuse of power.

I won't stop till NEM admits their error and does the right thing, or NEM is dead.

Hey all,
Thought I'd drop by here and let you all know what's going on between myself and NEM right now...

I flew out to California to talk to Jeff about getting my coins from the initial distribution, but he was less than helpful. Since then, I've successfully gotten myself banned from the NEM and Cryptocurrency subreddits because of this issue. I guess I just don't know when to stop.

Some people will roll over and go away when you cheat them. I'm done with that. I will not stand for corruption. The NEM foundation has dug it's own grave with this, and they'll learn some basic ethics or will go down in flames.

So what's Your story in short? Were You treated as sockpuppet, or were you too lazy to reedem Your stake in time? I ask just of curiosity.

I did not get the bitcointalk messages until after the devs had already decided to keep the unclaimed coins.

Why was I not checking bitcoin talk daily?
I was involved with a business that I was trying to save... I lost $100k and it went belly up anyway.
I also started a non-profit, designed a fusion reactor, sued the City I live in, and sold a patent to a company that raised $10M on it.

Personally I am sorry you didn't make to claim your stake. But from a business perspective it's unfortunately your fault for not taking care of claiming it, regardless how busy you were.

I'm sorry for you. I'm not asking for your opinion or permission. I'm warning you about unethical people running an amateur hour shitshow. You're obviously heavily invested in NEM, and are going to be hurt in the crossfire when this team blows up under the light of close scrutiny.

I tried to stake my claim in thread 2, page 10.
I tweeted about NEM, but was never verified.
My name is not in the new stakeholder list, and the instructions there said to come here and complain about it, so here I am.
Please add me to the stakeholder list.

I checked your post but I did not see your tweet about NEM as well as any clickable link. Was that the reason you are not in ?

Your post is here:

"
Tweeted about the coin: twitter.com/pontifier
also made a bitly link: http://[Suspicious link removed]/1fHa2w8

sounds interesting. Check out Humizen.com

"

So here is a clickable version of the twitter url. https://twitter.com/pontifier
You can see the tweet on jan 31, and the link in the tweet points at the registration thread.
