It is a rather complicated issue, because blockchain technology is based on people's freedoms and control, what can be done is to adapt many things in the economic system so that the laws continue to be enforced, for example, the payment of taxes must not be affected by cryptocurrencies.
It's true that bitcoin has been in the lead all these years and people prefer it, however, you can't be absolutely certain that it will happen in 5 or 10 years, because there are other projects that are also progressing and suddenly there may be an accelerated escalation, to see what happens.
Honestly it is too unlikely that Bitcoin will die, because it is a scarce and highly valued cryptocurrency, the most accepted and of course there are people who seek to make profits with bad propaganda, so they can buy cheaper and then earn a lot.
I think that the changeover to digital currency will start in the more developed countries and where people have greater access to technology, as we are seeing it right now, there are countries that will take a little longer because their technological infrastructures are at a very basic level, there are cryptocurrency that are already working seriously on a global approach such as Ultrapoint (UPX), Ethereum, Ripple and others, once people value their practical use, then we will live in a world with the economy based on cryptocurrencies.
