I'm sorry to hear your loss, it was then probably some pfhishing site which you wrote in your private key. i only use MEW as a cold wallet, so far didn't got any hacking attack, good luck for the recovering!

i think that you should choose an ico which you look after yourself. then you probably won't be scammed and you can sell the coins which you earned (or hold them.)

FOMO is a common mistake, jsut don't be too greedy, and be patient with time you will be more experienced and tell the difference
