People waste a lot more on websites than the cost of those scripts.

Part of the problem is that bitcoin has lost a lot of speculative popularity but as far as adoption #s it has grown.
Then you have other up and coming currencies that actually improve on bitcoin signficantly. Bitcoin pays 10% to the miners who don't even improve the software. So it has no chance for innovation and things needed to grow.

Looking back on the original Utopian Future thread I can only think about how successful we have been so far. Despite some trolls, we have built a very strong core community...
A ton of progress is being made every day, I am sure NEM has a bright future.
It's a lot of fun to finally start to see everything coming together. NEM twitter acct ( https://twitter.com/nemcoin) has almost 600 followers! I love the wallet's design. 600 followers organic is a pretty good start.

The same thing with adding 10% ethanol to gas. It burns less efficiently, and actually uses more gas to produce it, making it energy inefficient, not to mention it drives food prices up. Yet its another illusion to make people think the govt is trying to help
More likely it is just the corruption caused by lobbyists from the corn industry. I wouldn't read any more into it about government conspiracies. Just assholes trying to make more money at the cost to humanity.

Is the new strain more contagious ? I always understood it was very difficult to spread from human to human ?

Yes, Bitcoin needs a media relations foundation to work on creating positive press relations. It is hard to get past the basic problem of media needs a 'good story' to sell the cruft.
More Sean's Output, less Mt Goxs.

The NEM asset exchange deal isn't issuing tokens anymore?

Seems like you would need some sort of small town that is like an art community. One of those places people move because it is cheap and other like minded folk end up there. Then you might have widespread adoption. Are there any famous libertarian small towns in the US like this ?

So BTS-X has become liquid on bter and btc38. Anyone have any thoughts on it ? It appears the snapshots from February 28th have been made liquid using the internal backend on bter/btc38. So you can deposit BTC to buy bts-x, but you can not currently withdraw it. Is this true ?

When the only tool you have is a hammer.....
Seriously, why can't we just accept that bitcoin is very, very good at doing exactly what it was designed to do (allow irreversible transfers of funds between parties without the need for a trusted third party) and leave it at that? Why do we have to try and shoehorn every damn thing we can think of into it?
You're right, Bitcoin doesn't need the added baggage. Thats why we have altcoins/DACs. Check out wiki.bitshares.org for a great example. It doesn't mean everything has a better decentralized implementation for that which is possible, but it is a lot of fun to push it !

for my part, Im not against NXT, I just think they have a distribution problem, that keeps getting worse..
I don't think so. 2000 vs 100 stakeholders seems like a huge difference and I think NEM will profit from a big community but to be honest the distribution is barely better. People will always complain about unfair distribution. I mean what about the other 7 billion people in the world? Life is really unfair mimimimimi.... Also it has turned out that NXT actually benefits from its stakeholders. A few stakeholder with huge amounts of coins are donating more than thousands of investors with little amounts. What I fear about NEM launch is that many people cash out when price is high and in the end the distribution is as bad as in NXT, Bitcoin and others. Lets assume there are some people with multiple stakes. They are likely to either dump most but a lot may be motivated marketers. If they were motivated enough to sign up for all the BTT accounts then they will be motivated to help out NEM for the long run. So while we may wish there were 0 sock puppets, they may not necessarily be as bad as people think. They might also be more willing to give NEM out to friends etc. It isn't 100% one sided. Having 3000 stakeholders would be the best, but having 2000 might be 90% as good if those motivated to acquire stakes are motivated to continually support NEM over their stakes. It is even possible that those sock puppets end up being more valued than the people who came on late once it had been determined to be a very successful coin.

When Dungeon Defenders 2 is released, I hope the devs make a DD2 coin.

Bitshares and NXT are both exciting. I lean towards Dpos because the development is more open. Bitshares also seems to have a fuller support for DACs.

What an ignorant poll. No mention of protoshares and all the upcoming value add.

First sign you're full of shit... The chick is holding a cup from the Encore in Vegas.
Lol what a douche I've already discussed and explained this extensively. I dont give a shit about u anymore. I did a favor to the community sharing my girlfriend with all of you The difference between me and you is that I ejaculated all over her face and tits an hour ago and you didn't Yeah, you're right. He didn't ejaculate all over his computer screen. He was actually learning how to put 'periods' after his sentences. There aint no girlfriend like a bitcoin girlfriend. Put her in the blockchain and forget about her and pull her out when you need her.

I would like to see NEM only starts when everything is ready in contrast to Nxt ... And last of all for me is the distribution of the shares ... everything else has priority - Homepage - Blockchain/Client / Wallet - Wikipedia / Advertising - Promotional Gifts / conferences for ideas - Exchange with the help of graviton - Donations for special occasions
and last of all distribution of the shares, the time really has me even to the end of the year.
You need a working wallet that is tested. I was hoping for direct fork from NXT. Leverage what NXT has done. Distribution of shares is important. There really is no point in worrying about donations, wikipedi a, advertising, gifts, etc until you have a working currency. The earlier you get it going the sooner you can put it on an exchange and let the market further distribute NEM. NXT has a lot of momentum, utilize it. The longer you wait for NEM, the harder it will be to establish market share in cryptocoin market. There will be a lot of shitty NXT clones and if you wait around too long it will be hard to differentiate NME from other NXT clones.

Here are some to stupid to read?

What happens to those who can not read or rather WANT?
What are you trying to say ? No exchanges ? I read most of NEM thread on here and didn't see that.

The hash check sheet is done to audit the registration thread 2. I will take input from that list to make change to official stakeholder list. Nothing up to the end of registration thread 1 has been changed yet.
The official stakeholder list goes offline for a few hours for re-organization but that is still the official list.
@misterbowls: I think you still misunderstand the use of the check hash sheet.
I thought it was a list of duplicate hashes, with 1 of the 2 people (2nd to post?) listed. You are going to still need a way to check who owns the hash. To check who owns hash, you need a process. Then you can start knowing with authority which of a duplicate hash poster is fraudalent and which is not. You said to comment on the doc. I don't understand what that accomplishes ? Anyone can comment on the doc ? We need a process to say "I sent the money, not that guy, take him off". Oh well, I can wait patiently. If you were to make assumption that first person to post duplicate hash is the fraudalent and make it default, you'd likely decrease your workload. I doubt many people tried posting duplicate hashes after they had been posted, but who knows.
