Looks like a good idea! Any sponsors? ;-)

Which ones do we need? And where to point them to? I'm a total numb in this... Would it be enough only to hire this rig during the transition phase?

Hi, I'm not very active on bitcointalk at the moment and haven't checked this thread for a while,
but if you want to mine WOLF then you can still use the P2P pool that I've setup few months ago.

And when do you pay back the phase II funds?

Oh sorry, did I ask an uncomfortable question?
I guess see you again in two weeks then....

Remember that you can also mine WOLF (see url in my signature).
No miners no transactions.

I think many here will find this android app useful for obvious reasons.

Dev is pulling the same thing with me as two times before.
When asking him about the phase II refund, he responds positive and then disappears.

Same two days ago.
I've had honestly enough.
NewWolfDev, mind sharing with me his priv email?

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] Project WOLF on: June 02, 2014, 02:44:18 PM
I'll start a miner once I get home. Anyone else who wants to help can point their miners to the pool in my sig.
One problem is the count of nodes though. I noticed that I had difficulties with getting transactios confirmed when I was mining (3 or 4 peers online at that time).

In your place dev I'd probably do 2).
Maybe 1) if you think you can manage the bagholders.
For 3) you'd need a proper relaunch and rebranding to spark interest.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] Project WOLF on: June 02, 2014, 09:23:19 AM
Disregard my previous silly post. That was just the excitement of seeing dev again.

I think the main discrepancy with this coin is it should have stuck with the Insanity Sundays
and whatever dev has in his mind with the webminer should have been really a separate coin.

Clearly dev needs some time to develop stuff and there is not enough community to carry this coin during his absent periods.
Also I think what didn't work was the planned transition from "insane" shortterm investment coin to a serious longterm innovative coin.

I don't expect dev to hand over his webminer stuff and also no new dev will want to take over a bagholder coin.

Well, awaiting the innovative ideas.
Maybe a negative POS coin where your coins get less over time? Grin

Phase 2 funds: I did not take part in buying any phase 2 WOLF. Did InsanityDev exchange the BTC sent to him for WOLF or just keep the BTC?
He exchanged for WOLF.
Altogether 5 BTC were collected at: https://blockchain.info/address/15txQGhLmN133e2qBwGyXzKtYhHTchEy4g

You are missing one item.
We all know point 8 will not happen, but there is still the matter with phase II funds which should be refunded, because phase II never happened.

Also "NewWolfDev" you are coming across slightly aggressive. And it is easy to start making promises from a new account.
While I welcome your initiative to take over WOLF, we know nothing about you.

So, same procedure applies to you as for InsanityDev.
Do you have anyone to vouch for your identity?

ANYONE who posted on here claiming they would release your ID if you did anything shady are liars and have none of my respect.
To their defense, we haven't actually contacted those people yet and I doubt they all follow this thread.
When I threatened to contact those people during his first disappearance he showed up before the deadline passed.

No objection from me but it would be good if people who bought from the phase 2 pot can get a partial refund or additional WOLFs as a compensation.
Yeah, except that we can consider phase 2 canceled at this point, especially if we are talking about destroying the rest.
I don't see why there should only be only a partial refund. Because if it hadn't been dev who collected the funds,
then it would have been an escrow and everybody would have received the full sum back at this point.
But we trusted dev...
Interest on top of the refund would be more appropriate rather than a partial refund.  Grin

How will you destroy the WOLFs now that there is no more 10% destruction fee?
He mentioned at some point that we can destroy the coins in some other way than sending them back and forth.
Too lazy to look it up. I assume by sending it to a wallet without private key or similar procedure.

Also, you should keep a few batches aside for you, NWO, for the design contest and for marketing. So maybe destroy 300k and keep 30k?
+1 Core team of a coin should always get a significant amount to make the success of a coin their highest priority.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] Project WOLF on: May 22, 2014, 07:57:25 PM
I have been looking at this, but couldn't really figure out how to get things started/configure everthing. Do you have some manual somewhere? Thanks!
You mean mining?

There are two ways to mine.
1) You have one or more graphic cards and want to mine yourself
2) You use betarigs or some other service through which you can rent someones miner for a certain time.

For 1) you need to know if you have an AMD or NVIDIA graphic card and get the suitable mining software.
For AMD, search for cgminer and for NVIDIA use cudaminer.
You'll find installation instructions easily.
Once you have the miners installed, you can see examples for the parameters on my site http://wolf.pomf.me:1666

For 2) Go to betarigs.com, create an account.
Once you're done and logged in go to "rent a rig" (Scrypt miners are the default selection).
Select one of the offered miners and click "Rent now", select a timerange for the rental and then you need to pay the exact amount to
the BTC address that is displayed. It takes 15-20 minutes until your payment is confirmed, so in the meanwhile you can already enter
the following parameters:
pool URL = wolf.pomf.me:1666
pool worker name = your WOLF address
password = anything you like

Remember that for 1) and 2) the username is your own WOLF address (never use an exchange address) and the password can be anything.

Hope this helps.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] Project WOLF on: May 22, 2014, 03:47:09 PM
Just a quick note that since a couple days, no one besides me is mining this coin at the moment
and I will stop very soon when my last betarigs contract stops.

What this means is that as long as no one is mining, there will obviously be no transactions.
Which means, if you ever want to move your WOLF, you need to mine and find some blocks to get your transactions confirmed..

Also there is a bug in the current wallet causing that you cannot transfer more than 100 WOLF at a time.
Also I've had a bit of trouble sending WOLF from my wallet to Poloniex and 4 of five sending attempts never got confirmed on the network.
Which is very annoying, because they get stuck in you wallet and you need to export your privatekeys, remove the wallet.dat and import the keys in the new wallet.

All of this shouldn't be a problem though because most people have their WOLF on Poloniex after all.

One word regarding profitability. With current betarigs prices (0.0040BTC/MHash/day), mining one WOLF at difficulty between 0.25 and 0.28 costs about 0.0003BTC.
Quite close to the current buying price.

Edit: I will leave the p2pool up and running in case anyone wants to mine.
I moved it to a slower server for now as longs as there is so little interest .
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] Project WOLF on: May 18, 2014, 02:01:21 PM
A few points:
- just an observation that the webmining crashed my phone when I visited the new site with it. Maybe not running by default it for mobile devices would be a good idea.

- I have a question regarding webmining. I assume it is not a scrypt algo, but something very lightweight?
So, is that algorithm more power efficient in terms of hashes/sec?
How is it protected from abuse? Thinking about someone modifying the webmining code that would allow it to calculate hashes at full cpu power?

- I have no problem with allocating some WOLF from the (now comes the ugly word) "premine" for development and promotion.
I welcome this open discussion especially in the light of dev taking 0,65 BTC for hosting costs from the phase 2 funds without any previous notice.
Did I say phase 2 funds? Oh yeah, we are still missing an explanation regarding where the rest of the 5 BTC pot went.

In the meanwhile the P2Pool is going strong. Already providing 15 MH/s, which is 65% of the whole network.  Cool

Here we go, the pool is ready and it is already finding blocks like crazy.
So, let's announce this properly. Here come the big fonts. Bitcointalk-style:

I'm in the process of setting up a p2pool for Wolf.
It's already up and working, but I need to test it still to make sure it is working fine.
Details later.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin Phase Two - coin for investors and traders on: May 14, 2014, 09:39:31 PM
First and most importantly, I used 0.65 BTC from the funds about a week ago to pay for the wolf mining rig for the week, as frankly I'm out of crypto myself and holding alts which are all down in value, I'm also currently in the process of migrating to a new bank account so cannot replace it for a couple of days. By saturday, monday at the latest I'll have personal BTC again and will replace the 0.65. I should have updated the thread and asked before hand, I can only apologise, a stupid decision on my own part.
That is not the full story.
Again, why have ALL the funds been moved on May, 5th?
Not just 0.65 BTC. But 5.0 BTC: https://blockchain.info/address/1LmBHVsqC4iEfDHfdKkCXuBMCZm18UuciQ

Phase 2 is still on the cards, however if there's no more movement soon it may change in price a little (in which case anybody who bought from phase 2 will be topped up), move to being managed IPO style by poloniex with the current prices, or we may abandon it all together, destroy the coins, and refund the purchases in the pot. Seeking guidance on this matter over the next few days and will be discussing with NWO and all of you hopefully.
IMHO setting the price lower is generally a sign of weakness and degrading the worth of the coin.
To support the price it would be better if the mining diff and block reward would be balanced so that the cost of mining 1 Wolf would be equivalent to the highest BTC price step of phase 2 IPO.

Regarding the phase 2 in general, I'm honestly not feeling any traction at the moment.
Especially since dev is still busy developing instead of marketing the coin.
Also quite fed up with chasing the wherabouts of the fund. I wish I could stop making negative posts already,
but I can't as long the phase 2 funds are out of sight or unaccounted for.
Therefore my vote is for refund and proper relaunch of the IPO together with the rebranding.

Btw, I just got the wallet from github and compiled  on Ubuntu and it's not synching yet (using nodes from http://5.9.111.71/connections). edit: syncing fine now.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin Phase Two - coin for investors and traders on: May 14, 2014, 07:26:56 AM
Now, what I'm concerned about is what happened to the phase 2 funds.
Why and where were they moved without a comment from dev?
What happens to phase 2 in general?
Looking forward to mining Wolf and such, but I will also post the questions above every day until there is an answer.
I honestly don't really appreciate the silence on this matter.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin Phase Two - coin for investors and traders on: May 13, 2014, 01:54:32 PM
I'm about to start compiling & testing that the new client and blockchain configuration is working correctly.

Regarding mining pools, would the community / anybody like to set one up, or an existing pool add the coin, would you prefer to solo mine, or should I create a pool for wolf, or?

Personally I prefer soloing at launch and then switch to some p2pool.
I'd love to set one p2pool up for this, although I have no clue how complex that is.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin Phase Two - coin for investors and traders on: May 13, 2014, 06:31:33 AM
Great to see you back dev.
As someone with family and dayjob, I know that it doesn't take much to turn everything upside down.

I wholeheartetly welcome the move getting NWO on board.
I've been bitching before about the 'bus factor' and dependency on one person being a big risk.

Now, what I'm concerned about is what happened to the phase 2 funds.
Why and where were they moved without a comment from dev?
What happens to phase 2 in general?
