Indeed. No matter how strong, innovative or useful a project is, without a supportive community, it won't survive. Bitcoin has the largest supportive community of all cryptocurrencies, and that's one of the reasons why it is on top.
Don’t you think that community for every project is one of the most important things.
Dogecoin is the live evidence of this sentence. What was created based on a doge meme for fun became an obsession for many and made it to the top 50 coins/tokens with no real project, vision or goal.
Sometimes even, projects fail to reach their goals, either because of internal issues or hacks destroying the coin's reputation, and if the project is worthy and have a passionate community, they will take over and push the project to its goals themselves. I know there were a few projects like that, however, I don't recall their names.
So maybe you have got ideas/suggestions how we can improve the current situation?
I think that crypto community have to develop the whole crypto landscape, that's what decentralization is about
