1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Cash was no scam on: October 09, 2021, 10:21:29 PM
Well OK, sure.

There's a lot of projects around that aren't scams.
What's the point though? Any special use case? Doesn't seem like it has much adoption. Volume is not exceptional.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is heartbreaking on: October 09, 2021, 10:09:31 PM
Well Crypto replaced Forex and Stocks as the most attractive market in terms of Accessibility.
And from those markets of yesteryear we inherited the concept of "Penny Stocks" -- often the domain of pump & dumps, fraud and riskiest speculation.

Penny Crypto was inevitable and its traditional characteristics were inevitably amplified with increased accessibility.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buying shib right now on: October 08, 2021, 12:01:28 PM
I've seen a lot of headlines that SHIB's only reason for the pump is Elonposting

But was there any fundamentals behind the last pump? A whale buy-in?

If not the latter we'll probably drift down to around ~0.000014
Still this pumping potential is a good sign for a coin I'd say. Elon's not going to suddenly stop posting about his doggo. The question then is WHERE to enter best...
4  Economy / Economics / Re: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’ on: October 08, 2021, 11:39:27 AM
Saylor is a bitcoin marximalist, he believes in Bitcoin judging from the amount of bitcoin he owns, one would not be wrong to call him a whale. Saylor isn't an early investor to bitcoin. He started getting involved in Bitcoin in 2019 nevertheless he talks about Bitcoin a lot on the media. Microstrategy is not the only company buying bitcoins, Grayscale is on top of the list. Tesla CEO, Elon Musk is a crypto fan his tweets about doge made the crypto famous.
"marximalist"? Is that a new term I missed?

If not, can it be a new term, please?
5  Economy / Economics / Re: When will the role of fiat currency disappear against crypto. on: October 08, 2021, 11:06:57 AM
Fiat is kind of a reflection of the value we put in a certain country, assets that it has under management (that includes citizen) and the total sum of its financial transactions.
Kind of a faster index than a bond and there's value in that, like with altcoins.

As for crypto vs fiat as a medium of exchange -- well a lot of countries are already working on minting their national stablecoins. So fiat basically transitions into digital and that's it.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the biggest threat to Bitcoin? on: October 08, 2021, 10:36:16 AM
World's most populous country has banned "all crypto transactions" and that barely reflected on Bitcoin's price. I think that proves a decent level of regulation-resistance.
Major Western institutions and investors recognise it as a valuable asset and as holders automatically become proponents.
There will no doubt be more regulation, more turmoil and price fluctuation but at this point government interference is not a major threat.
That's globally, of course. Locally governments may very well threaten your personal wallet but that's another matter.

In terms of any altcoin superseding Bitcoin, well there are already coins that technically have a high price but limited sue like YFI and GUH (which was much higher than bitcoin for a brief moment this year).
And they don't seem to threaten Bitcoins dominance any -- they're purely financial instruments.

The biggest threat to Bitcoin... Perhaps that would Bitcoin becoming ubiquitous, boring and unremarkable?

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin(Cryptocurrencies) is a social movement? on: October 08, 2021, 10:14:27 AM
Cryoto has its impassioned supporters and detractors.
it had its origin in self-funded idealist efforts.
It has a transformative social effect.

I'd say it qualifies.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a world power? on: October 08, 2021, 10:08:06 AM
Bitcoin is the most famous crypto asset...
But to a casual observer, a  non-deepcrypto enthusiast, there is no special significance behind it. They treat it like Crypto Gold.

Just an observation.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ZatCoin anti-scam platform bringing change to crypto by setting a new standard on: October 08, 2021, 09:54:09 AM
Another validator, sure. Neat.

Do you have any projects on board already?
