any other way to mine it than the wallet? any pools maybe?

Yes there are some pools.  Orgcoin runs it's own p2pool node as well, 2 of them actually.  You can find more information on our site or in IRC on #orgcoin

Does anyone know of an online store that accepts crypto of any sort that has a the firefly portable vape for sale? I told my baby momma I would buy her one when that can happen. Help a girl out let me know of a place I can buy her one.

Yeah www.cannibay.com has one of those for sale I think.

Guess you could've used the new windows installer and it would have done all that for you.

Oh BTW I can't edit this thread, but we might want to make this new announcement a bit more prominent somehow...

Trying the windows wallet.  Downloaded and started one hour ago.  4 active connections.  Still at 269 weeks behind with no movement on synchronization bar.  Will report back...

You need the blockchain snapshot from here...
https://github.com/openpay/orgcoin-blockchain

I'll wrap up an installer that includes the blockchain snapshot and get it up somewhere folks can download it.

I just did a build of the Windows QT wallet to help these guys out:

Orgcoin donations/bounties: VGqD8mZG75rXMt1z2pS6RQ8ygcLhNpJZj8

Thanks for your hardwork!  I pulled the Foundation Wallet out of cold storage and am currently resyncing the chain then I'll get the bounty sent out on this.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Merge Mining Scrypt Coins - Get 4 times your hash power! DOGE/LTC/DGC/CAT/42 on: March 07, 2014, 12:53:49 AM
I don't see Orgcoin on manicminer.in but I remember them announcing over in our forums and I see some folks here saying they're getting some.

It looks like ManicMiner is using p2pool, if that's the case you need the following settings or you're going to see a lot of wasted/rejected hashes.

expiry=10, scantime=9 queuesize=0

If you still see > 10% rejects then turn your intensity down a bit.
Orgcoin has a 10 second block time, having your expiry higher than that means you're totally wasting hash power.
Also I'm not sure about mining USC & Org together they use the same pch message header and that could be confusing things.
In the next major release of Orgcoin that will be fixed, but we never expected to be merge mined with other merge mineable coins.

If you want a quick run down on how merge mining works look at namecoin or devcoin both of which are regularly merge mined with bitcoin.
To put it in it's simplest terms the mergemined coin is setup to accept the parent coins PoW as its own.  This is especially acceptable in instances where the child coin is quiet (not a lot of transactions going on). And it helps to make the coin far more resilient against 51% attacks since the child coin effectively gets the hashing power of the parent to protect it.

Right now at the time of this writing Orgcoin is trading for 200 satoshi on cryptorush.  We've never pumped this coin.  All promotion has been limited to 1 posting here and 1 over at cryptocointalk.

We have some pretty lofty goals, and 100% of all profits each month are given to the charity, non-profit or good cause selected by our members.  Please see www.orgcoin.org for more details.  If you have any questions please feel free to hop in irc.freenode.net /join #orgcoin

Thanks everyone for the interest!

There is currently a blockchain fork because gravity well was implemented which changes the difficulty calculation.
The majority of hashing power needs to upgrade NOW.

**Dear devs, next time you issue a breaking change that is not related to immediate security concerns please ensure it's spaced out 3 months not 12 days.  It's not always easy to upgrade a daemon, many of us have extremely tight security when it comes to changing the daemon out including changing SELinux rules and taking down IDS, updating the binary sig etc.  In my own case it takes 4 hours of intensive effort to change a binary because my systems are that friggin tight.***

It's been yet another week.  But he finally made good and sent the coins back.  The price has crashed so he actually sent more than originally ordered.  All in all I'm correcting my feedback now.
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: buy price lower than sell price on: February 13, 2014, 07:04:02 PM
the best way i found to do it is buyin on BTC-e and selling at **removed malware link**, i do some cash doing it.
How is that even relevant?

The OP is talking about seeing a buy price lower than the sell price in a particular exchange for a few brief moments of time.
You're talking about arbitrage between btc-e.com and a flybynite site that when I went to it threw up a malware alert in my browser.
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: buy price lower than sell price on: February 13, 2014, 06:37:50 PM
Or a delayed reporting engine.

It's possible that the buy/sell are a little out of sync if the orderbook is deep enough and there is enough activity.  Whereas the matching engine would "one would hope", freeze the DB long enough to match and then release.

One very solid and scalable design for an exchange involves all limit orders going to the orderbook, then the matching engine locking the books temporarily, taking all market orders and matching them first, and only then matching limit orders across the books.  This might result in what you're seeing.

Since you're only seeing limit orders in the order books and last can be either market or limit.
It would resolve itself the next time the matching engine takes a pass across the orderbooks.

Seeing that is a good sign that there is pent up pressure in the market in one direction or the other and would likely mean it's a good time to take a contra position.  Just an FYI for any bot makers out there.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Someone sent me a Satoshi? on: February 13, 2014, 06:29:31 PM
Yeah, like I said.  Send me money and I'll glad take a gander at your website Smiley

Going to wait until the tx confirms though Cheesy
14  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [scammer] Face0ff on Localbitcoins, beware! on: February 13, 2014, 05:34:17 PM
Just received my first communication with the seller since the problem started.  He states that he will send the coins through now.
I will post the TX when it arrives, or a reply in 24hrs.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Someone sent me a Satoshi? on: February 13, 2014, 05:26:49 PM
So I have an address setup that's watch only and sends me an alert everytime there is activity on the address.
I got the message "Someone sent you 0.00".  I went to blockchain.info and find this tx in my list of unspents...
https://blockchain.info/tx/36cfd7cdbb778e4132e66d89fe737779ad589877f7565252ec84d76a1bb9b755

According to blockchain.info the sender looks like a company called "Play and Win BTC", which would be lovely except I never played so I'm not sure how I could have won.
My immediate thought is that this is a really cheap way to advertise something, but since I don't have a link to the site I have no idea who, what or why is being advertised.

This is almost really cool!
Anyone who wants to advertise to me, please feel free to send as much BTC as you like to 1LE4D5ERPZ4tumNoYe5GMeB5p9CZ1xKb4V I promise to look at your site Smiley

In the meantime what's the Play and Win BTC business all about?
16  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [scammer] Face0ff on Localbitcoins, beware! on: February 13, 2014, 04:55:06 PM
It's been a week and I have not heard a single word from this seller.
I'm pretty certain that the accounts which claim to have been reimbursed were in fact merely sock puppets.

I sent him this message in the localbitcoins forums.

Quote
It's been quite awhile since I last contacted you regarding your paypal fraud.
You need to make this right as soon as possible. You can send $100 worth of BTC to 1LE4D5ERPZ4tumNoYe5GMeB5p9CZ1xKb4V or $100 through PayPal to rectify the situation.

For BTC pricing I'm willing to accept current BitStamp or the original amount of coin sent to you which was 0.1208 BTC.

However you need to resolve this quickly. You are quickly buildding a bad rep on bitcointalk.org

At this stage I am looking for anyone else effected by this seller.  I am willing to take this to court, but would like to establish a pattern of misconduct.  I will share any and all details I obtain on his personal identity during this time so that you may take legal action as you see fit.
17  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: MtGox blames Bitcoin protocol problem for BTC withdrawal issue on: February 10, 2014, 12:16:41 PM
I'm expecting the next note from MtGox to read something along the lines of "Thank you everyone for your patience while we drove down the market price.  Thank you also for selling so cheap, we are now able to process withdrawls because we bought so cheaply on bitstamp.  Again thank you and sorry we forgot the lube, but at least we only put in the tip this time."
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: February 09, 2014, 11:09:00 PM
I can't believe in 76 pages no one has mentioned www.cannibay.com
It's basically Ebay for POT coin!

This coin has a real market and people are really buying, selling and trading using it everyday.
19  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [scammer] Face0ff on Localbitcoins, beware! on: February 07, 2014, 10:42:11 PM
Looks like he's taking care of it for a few people at least...

https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/Face0ff/feedback/unconf/

You can see my rant up top, then a bunch of people claiming they got their coins back.
20  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [scammer] Face0ff on Localbitcoins, beware! on: February 07, 2014, 10:11:57 PM
In the time since I posted this, the buyer has acknowledge the issue publically and appears to be working to resolve it.
I just want to be honest.  It appears someone scammed him and paypal is busy unwinding his positions.

I'll post more as I have it.
