You're too conservative I suppose. Just because XZC was found earlier it was the safe haven of all? I think they are with their community and does having often conversation on the chat room makes them not doing for the community? As far as I can remember the chat room was only full of when exchange listing things and besides they do regular update. Dear buddy, if at the beginning of the project something is indicated that it will be like this and then the rules change during the game, bodes ill for this project.
I really like the @tecracoin statement

It is a pity that it was not included in Whitepaper, because I would not waste energy on mining :-)
