In the GitHub repository, it looks like Skeincoin uses OpenSSL 1.0.1c (for example here, line 17). This version is vulnerable to the Heartbleed exploit, so it should probably be updated to 1.0.1g, which is what bitcoin-qt currently uses. Do the binary builds use the vulnerable OpenSSL version or have they been updated?

No mining software will let you mine SKC on your ASIC miner. The current ASICs only work for SHA-256 coins; this algorithm is different.

I'm using Gigabyte's HD7970GE @ 1100Mhz engine, 1000Mhz memclock. Hashrate hovers around 220Mhash/s. What's odd is that the dynamic intensity gets set to 5, while I get optimal results at around 11.

You get 4000/day with 400Mhash? I have 2x7970GE for ~400Mhash and skc.coinmine.pl is giving 3k/day

Is any trading going on outside the exchanges? I've seen a few WTS threads but no one seems to want to buy. Guess we'll wait for Cryptsy....

This looks interesting, but 247 million in the first year then 1 million annually? This gives a huge bias to early adopters and is somewhat similar to what happened with megacoin (I'm thinking of this article) From the article: Quote It’s also important to point out that the reward structure of megacoin is disproportionately front-loaded. 50% of all coins are slated to be generated during the first 5 months. This makes it lucrative for all of its early supporters, but a poor prospect for anyone looking to get in later on. That might explain why the community is so fervent.
