1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / $194 million dollar worth of Bitcoins is moved with a $0.1 transaction fee on: October 17, 2018, 12:22:20 PM
when it comes to banking institutions, transferring large amounts of money comes with a hefty transaction fee.

TransferWise
a UK based multi-billion dollar firm that allows its users
to send small to large payments with substantially lower fees. Even on
such platforms to transfer $1 million it costs around $7,500 for transaction
fee.

However, a bitcoin user on October 16 moved 29,999 BTC worth $194 million with
a surprisingly low fee of just $0.1. Blockchain has the ability to large payments at a cost
similar to that of a small transaction.

Does this mean crypto has the ability to crack offshore banking market?

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Automotive retailer "Newparts" is set to accept cryptocurrency on: October 10, 2018, 10:28:04 AM
Online automotive parts store-Newparts will accept payment in seven cryptocurrencies.

Newparts is focused on removing currency conversion fees and charge-backs
which in turn saves customers money.

They also want to reach out to their global customers, and let them access
all of their products with lightning fast transactions.

Using cryptocurrency particularly Bitcoin cash which offers fast, reliable and inexpensive transactions
when compared to the traditional method will help to save time and money of their customers.

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ~BTC in Medical Industry on: October 10, 2018, 09:18:02 AM
Yes, It is possible.
Infact, there are some clinics who are already accepting Bitcoin.
  • My Doctor Medical Group in San Francisco
  • Central Urgent Medical Care in Los Angeles
Recently I came across many ICO projects mainly focused on healthcare.
some of them are using Blockchain technology to store and transfer medical data for research and effective treatment.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / UAE is set to give green signal for ICOs as 'Securities' on: October 09, 2018, 12:49:50 PM
The past few years have seen the UAE struggle in equity markets. This, along with plummeting oil prices have severely affected Initial Public Offerings. Thus, for domestic companies, raising funds has become a huge challenge.

To increase financing in capital markets, the UAE government will enable domestic companies to
raise funds by engaging in commodity based ICOs.

Quote
Cryptocurrencies, while not classified as legal tender, are considered commodities by the government of Abu Dhabi.

Quote
UAE securities market watchdog chief Omar Saif al-Zaabi said:

“The board of the Emirates Securities & Commodities Authority [ESCA] has approved considering ICOs as securities.
As per our plan, we should have regulations on the ground in the first half of 2019.”

If approved by UAE's prime minister, the new law will take effect in 2019.

Considering that the Middle east is usually not acceptable of the world's various regulations, this is a small yet significant win for the world of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin in particular.

However, my worry is that once ICOs assuage the damage done by the existing economical problems, will they still be entertained by the economy?

The reason I have asked this is because ICOs have still not been established as a part of the core of any economy.

5  Local / India / Re: How to buy bitcoins in India [GUIDE] on: October 08, 2018, 07:44:24 AM
Ah!

This is interesting!

I had lately been looking at various ways in which I could transact through exchanges.

India being such a large market requires a proper understanding of how crypto-currencies and exchanges work.

This guide is simple and minimalist in nature and so I hope this will serve to benefit all crypto-enthusiasts in or out of India.

I have already created an account on Giottus and I was wondering what to do next. I shall let you know if the other steps have helped me or not.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Let's talk about South Korea and ICOs. on: October 04, 2018, 09:01:07 AM
Min Byung-Doo chairmen of Korea's National Policy Committee is persuading
the government to legalize ICOs.

He pointed out that ICO is a new trend in global market and the country should
go along with the new technology. He also mentioned the success of the ICOs of Telegram and Block.one.

Furthermore, he said the government, National assembly and Block chain association
should create a working group to check frauds and develop block chain industry.

National assembly is still waiting for the approval.

Why do I think this is a great move?

The fact that many countries in Asia are not making any promising move towards legalizing ICO, it's great to hear news like this favoring ICO legalization.

Let me know what you think will be the ramifications of this.

7  Economy / Exchanges / Many cryptocurrency exchanges are vulnerable to breaches. on: October 03, 2018, 10:46:03 AM
We all have heard about the hacks on many exchanges with millions
of dollars being lost. Despite this many exchanges still haven't improved their security.

ICOratings.com published a list of exchanges according to their security score.

  • Coinbase pro has scored the highest with 89/100
  • Okcoin.cn is placed at the bottom with a score of 15/100.

Cryptocurrency has changed significantly since the inception of Bitcoin, but the number of
security breaches on exchanges remains unaltered.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ⭐⭐⭐[⚡️ANN] [🔥LAUNCH] [NHCT] BLOCKCHAIN POWERED ECOSYSTEM FOR TOTAL HEALTH⭐⭐⭐ on: September 20, 2018, 09:44:49 AM
For those who are interested about this ICO and would like to join the community here is a link to the official subreddit

Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/NHCT_NanoHealth/

I am currently participating in their Bounty program on Reddit and feel that their presence as a healthcare ICO makes their project even more potent compared to other commonplace ICOs.
