While investing in crypto there are things which you need to consider like price history, total and circulating supply of tokens, activity of developer and community activity. You can recover your loss by participating in different bounties and by making smart investments like buy some of the top trending coins as it would not guarantee you high profits but that's how you do business by taking risks.

Since the day Bitcoin was created its price has increased from cents all the way upto $19k-20k but due to pandemic financial markets are crashing so i think there is no chance that the price would be double by the end of 2020. The price of bitcoin always remained volatile as Wences Casares who is a board member at PayPal predicted that price of 1 BTC would be $1 million by next 5-10 years but this can't be determine by anyone.

For the time being, holding BTC is the only option because no one wants to loose $9K. Who knows what would be the price of BTC in near future as crypto pioneer Adam Back has predicted that the price of 1 Bitcoin would be as high as $300k. So don't loose hope and hold until price goes back to $20k or more.

I think this is the right time to adapt BTC/Cryptocurrency as an alternate mean of payment because human to human transmission of virus is very rapid. Many countries including China introduced online payments via WeChat many years ago making it very easy for people to buy products without using paper money. By introducing digital currency there will be no need of long queue and there will be no exchange of physical currencies which has proven dangerous.

According to risk-reward principle, low levels of uncertainty are kindred with low returns and high levels of uncertainty are associated with higher returns. There is likelihood of losing some of your investment as BTC are volatile that's why it is not considered as safe way of investing your savings by many. Cryptocurrencies have never been stable, sometimes you can get high profits but there are some questions you need to ask yourself before investing  regarding security and safety as $15000 is a huge amount. 

Bitcoins can be used as an alternative form of payment so buying products online can be a option. For time being the price of bitcoin is not much higher that's why people who owns BTC are not willing to spend but want to keep them for longer period so they can earn colossal amount. Moreover if we will not adopt BTC as a mean of payments it will eventually disappear.
