➡Top Coinbase’s Exec. Adam White is joining Bakkt as COO

Bakkt, the complex cryptocurrency trading platform, was firstly announced in early August. It belongs to the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which is the owner of one of the largest stock exchanges in the world, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Microsoft, BCG, Starbucks and other large companies also take part in the creation of Bakkt (the platform will appear in November).

Probably, Bakkt all also intend to attract "their" people from the cryptocurrency industry. This time it is Adam White, Coinbase’s head of the Institutional, which now will be the company`s COO (Chief Operating Officer).

Bloomberg also confirmed this information earlier, but there were no additional details from the company. A spokesman at Coinbase expressed that it's hard for them to see White leave:

➡Bitfinex Suspends All Fiat Deposits


^{Fiat deposits, including USD, EUR, JPY and GBP are paused on Bitfinex. As you remember, recently, details of the alleged insolvency of the exchange were revealed in media}

Users of one of the most popular cryptocurrency platforms Bitfinex report the inaccessibility of deposit option for fiat currencies traded there — USD, EURO, JPY, GBP. Moreover, there are more and more complaints from customers, so perhaps there is a massive shutdown of deposits on Bitfinex.

Meanwhile, some users have signalled problems with deposits and withdrawals of funds for several weeks already. Questions flooded exchange's accounts in Telegram/Twitter. By the way, the Bitfinex team has not yet made any official announcements, and their supports say that they don't have information about such an issue.




And no answers were given:


Most likely, the problem is related to the poor state of the exchange relative to the bank with which it worked (and probably doesn't work at the moment), i.e. Bitfinex can really be insolvent or at least lose the contractual relationship with a financial organization.

The famous Bitcoin Cash popularizer Roger Ver considering between finding a partner or launching the new platform on his own


Remember Roger Ver? A pretty controversial figure in the cryptocurrency field. Ver recently shared his plans with Bloomberg to create his own cryptocurrency platform; which, given the Bitcoin.com coverage, does not seem too ambitious. Actually, Ver and his team probably are at the stage of adopting this idea, and cannot decide whether they need a partner, or they will become an independent “core” of the project:


Chief Executive Officer Roger Ver also mentioned that the exchange will be located within the Bitcoin.com domain; speaking superficially, this may strengthen the position of BCH currency. And, no further details are given.

➡ Bitfinex Denies Rumors of Insolvency


_{A lot of information, including breaking a contract with a servicing bank, and problems with withdrawing funds, forced the exchange to give explanations about its alleged insolvency.}

As you remember, insider sources indicated potentially Bitfinex/Tether insolvency, and this can also explain why the exchange lost its servicing bank. In addition to this, new confirmations appear, for example,  this research on Medium, but it has already been deleted, probably by the company's request.

The report stated that Bitfinex users were experiencing major withdrawal issues (as many users say so). The combination of these facts, finally, became a hard deal for one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges. In response to this, the company categorically rejected all the accusations related to Bitfinex/Tether poor financial state.

Vitalik Buterin: «I think Ethereum Can Absolutely Survive Me»

According to the recent tweet by Vitalik Buterin, the Ethereum network would “absolutely survive” without its core developer, so Vitalik is actually “detaching himself” from Ether. The opinion has been expressed when Ethereum's issues were discussed, as well as the altcoins on the ETH basis, and all this, in general, led to compare Vitalik's impact on the network and its present state together. Buterin said:

"I think ethereum can absolutely survive me spontaneously combusting tomorrow at this point".

The segregation between the creator and his project seems to be "in progress", considering that a number of studies, subprojects are being led by other people.

📌 Cryptocurrencies Poses Challenges to Financial System

Christine Lagarde ranked cryptocurrencies as one of the risky areas that could play a role in the future financial crisis. Head also notes that digital assets will significantly change people's lives.

“Despite [crypto's] potential benefits, our knowledge of its potential risks and how they might play out is still developing. Increased cybersecurity risks pose challenges for financial institutions, financial infrastructure, and supervisors.”

Financial technologies and cybercrime were designated as risky areas, however, “potential benefits” are also mentioned. Earlier, Lagarde expressed an opinion that "the crypto-assets that survive could have a significant impact on how we save, invest and pay our bills".

TD Ameritrade is launching the integrated futures market ErisX*, to present not only a Bitcoin, but also Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin derivatives products.

ErisX* - is the regulated exchange that provides cryptocurrency derivatives.

“In our opinion there is no lack of interest in building out markets for people wishing to trade digital assets and there is plenty of space for people to come in with a regulated exchange and clearing house.”

The launch of alternative crypto-based product for Ethereum has been expected for a long time. The beginning of this month, as it seems, has already provided us with quite important news, so the market worth to be observed for at least the next 2 months.
