1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we wait for a big drop in BTC? on: November 20, 2018, 12:03:11 PM
What I understand it is possible for big mining pools who are controlled by a few people. How much crypto have they stack away or mining in secret ?.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Antminer S15 VS Baikal BK-G28, What to choose ? on: November 13, 2018, 03:43:20 AM
Any hardware for mining sooner or later breaks down.
Therefore, it is best to invest in an expensive Assembly for mining, which will last for many years

I not see any info about life on miners but think Phuket are a quit tuff environment. Ambient 30C and sometimes high humidity with a little salt in.  I thinking of long term mining and hope ROI could be possible before brake down.

Are you suggest the miner must be in a low humidity A/C server room before can last long?

Hi guys.
Against all odds Smiley I considerate again to buy a new miner and like to know what you thinks about the two different approach to mining crypto long term.

I got this offer from a big dealer in China and like to know what you think to choose.

Antminer S15 with psu Total $1810 delivered.
Baikal BK-G28, Lianli power supply total $1590 delivered.

I don’t know how long mining hardware lives but the two not use much power and if the S15 runs in economy mode properly many years. I think ?.

What you thinks about ROI with a 0.14 usd electricity cost and today's BTC price as fixed.

Appreciate any input. Smiley

Thanks so much, I did not see this one before and look exactly what I need to my business.  Smiley

Now I read about the terminal and total confuse about how it works. Look like a very restricted expensive payments system to use.
Sorry I am newbie, Am I wrong here or can I still us my normal wallet & exchange services. ?

I Look so many Point of sales to Android but the simple cheap ones do not have a print button to a recipe.
I think there is a long way before Bitcoin can be use as small shop or rear payments only.
A small hotel and Coffee shop as I have, maybe only get one walk in sell every day for now. Don’t want to start with big expensive restricted system, The nearest I come are the

 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gr.cryptocurrencies.bitcoinpos

But this has no print function. Customer and I wants to have that. Screen capture and print not easy.

Everybody talk about Bitcoin but no make a simple and cheap/free system to a small shop to spread the Bitcoin use more. There are so many cheap Android POS terminals with all in one but only few expensive to Bitcoin. Even after so many years.
Bitcoin are all about trade, investing, mining and talking. I’m very disappointed but really want Crypto to work.

Any suggestion to similarly Android apk with print  pls. let me know.

7  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newbie, What entry level miner but not BITMAIN on: October 07, 2018, 10:14:51 AM
Ok, that sucks.

Have you checked other distributors, like Cryptouniverse and Blokforge?

Blokforge will have non tariff offer for export. They claims soon will be available. Maybe?
If not I like to get a Whatsminer M10 but they are sold out and next batch are next year.
So now I not sure what to get. Huh I would like to have a christmas present. Grin

You can buy less than bulk quantity by buying from a official Canaan distributor.
See the list here: https://canaan.io/official-distributors/

I try already but the 3 distributor in asia says 20 pcs.min. Sad

that company bittech is a fraud

try finding an avalon a921

Thanks for the warning. I near order made an order.

I try to get a A921 but minimum sales in asia are 20 pcs.

I know you said a hobby, but how enjoyable your hobby is might depend on being able to pull even a small profit out.

That's where it depends on your cost of electricity mostly, and your space secondly - I say this because I'm guessing that you already know these machines are loud and hot.

You can start here for for a quick checklist to get started.

If you have cheap power, go for the 841 because as it's no longer the nexgen miner it can be bought for a good price right now. If power isn't cheap and ROI/Profit is on your mind I'd say get everything in place and see what the 941 looks like. I think it will outperform the 921, in a similar fashion that the 8 series went.

I haven't toyed around with most of the other miners out there, but you should check out HagssFIN, signature for links to his reviews. Pretty sure he has most of the current miners in there.

Power in Phuket are 0.14 usd /kw and I have lot of time and space. Only the humidity/temperature can be a problem to consider.

Maybe better I wait for the A941 and see. Only problem the company in asia only want to sell to farming and not only one pcs.

Whatsminer M10 looks good but out of stock right now. Next batch are December and then I believe all have 7nm chip so M10 maybe already old Sad.

Thanks for all advice.

Hi folks.
I new to crypto but like to make it to a new hobby but get a bad start with Bitmain.
I paid the original Bitmain shop for a DR3 and did all by the book. Transfer d. 24 Sep. and in bank d. 26 Sep. But the bank/Bitmain now return the money and I lost 150 USD. No explanation or any reply to why? So no confidences in Bitmain and now look for others entry level miners.

Antminer DR3 and Z9 Mini look good on the paper but a Bitmain.
I like the idea behind DCR  "democracy"  but any other suggestions to a miner and not lose money to get a start. ?

I look now on Bittech One mini. 10nm.  Not lose so much i guess.  Smiley

Or, Is it already over with small scale crypto mining when Bitmain comes with the new 7nm. ?

Thanks in advance to any suggestion,  Gorm,  Thailand.
