I'm pulling the plug, sorry guys's!  Any Dutch miners interesed in buying my mining gear: got 4 Antminer S3 and 14 Antminer S1 on sale.

Pool luck (1 day, 7 days, 30 days):   111%, 95%, 107%
And there are still people who complain  Huh
As long as we are over 100% it doesn't matter how much hashpower is added to the pool, because the luck is calculated based on the actual power!
If we are over 100% luck we get more regardless of the pool hashpower.

How about cold figures in stead of complaining? Yesterday I've mined only 0.048 BTC  (due to the increased hashpower)  At this moment (september 13) it's worth only 16,95. (sell on bitonic.nl)
I burn 11,36 Euro's electricity on a daily base, hence... my overwhelming profit was a whopping 5,59 lousy Euro's!

More non complaining figures: when I started mining I got the average of 0.087 BTC daily. At that time a BTC fetched around 635 Euro's, the equivalent of 55,42 Euro's. (still burning 11,36 euro's on electricity/day)

Bases on these non-complaining, but realistic figures I have to conclude that bitcoin "profits" have come down by a factor 10. I predict in a few months from now, mining bitcoins doesn't make any sense anymore for the common man.

Who was that seller? Save us from making the same misstake buying from him  ... and get a little even in the mean time!  Grin

We bounced off $446 but only to $471. "The center can not hold, the barbarians shall take the gates, retreat to the base of the square and stand firm"
Looks like we get to see if $401 will hold tonight, keep your fingers crossed.
NEVER, EVER PRE-Order a miner. The o9ne time I did it was only by 10 days, in that time price dropped $100 (20%) asked if I could cancel order or get some adjustment, sellers' response was .."No".
A week after release they dropped price another $100, a month after it came out could have picked one up for less than half what I paid.
At Slush, we are about to hit so many blocks that we will have to slush through puddles of coins. Smiley

I've managed to narrow the problem down... I'ts the connection to the (Slush) pool. I can connect to other pools (and mine without any problem) except for Slush Pool. My educated guess is I'm blocked and/or banned from the Slush pool, most likely under the suspicion for pool hopping.

I'll send Slush an e-mail to explain what happenend (new electrical wiring and sudden loss of internet connection - not pool hopping). I'll keep ya'll informed! Thanks for the help and support!!!
It's more likely to be either your router or firewall.  I used to work in online banking technical support and this was a common issue: customers could access anything except our bank's web site.  It most commonly affected people using one particular ISP.  The cure was almost always to cold boot the router (disconnect the power, wait 30 seconds, reconnect).  In rare cases a factory reset of the router would do the trick.  One tried changing the security from WPA to WEP and that worked, although I wouldn't really recommend it as a fix!  If you have a co-operative neighbour, you might try connecting through his broadband, and you will very likely succeed.

If it's a firewall issue, try reducing the security level temporarily.

Your ISP could be blocking the Slush pool IP's???

Looks like the router of ISP is the cause, maybe they performed an software update or something. I'll call them and ask. Thanks for the advice!

Yesterday I got new electrical wires for my miners, so I was offline for half a day. Last night I woke up and made a quick check on the statistics, to discover internet connection has been lost. This morning everything was o.k. but... I get no shares from the pool

Does anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong?

i had to reserve my computers/miners and stuff on my router or sometimes it disappears....had this happen on my KNC Jupiter connected but no hashing
I just unplug it and plug it in again ...only happened like 3x since I got it..but always seems to then work..kinda odd but it has been up 7 months...24/7.

Others on here probably have better ideas...all that comes to mind with my experiences.

Searing

Thanks for pointing me to the router and cables, Searing and Alan. Worked my way through both.. unfortunately no success. Anyway's: both router and plugs are freshned up!

Still don't understand how something that worked fine for months and months straigt, all of the sudden went wrong. Without althering anyting. Maybe Slush' software sees me as a poolhopper and kicked me out?

This is what I get: (click to enlarge)

you using a netgear router? those routers are cheap for a reason...i had one and using all 4 ports would cause it to lag out with me n my wife gaming and 2 gpu miners on it...it is now being used as a switch for my 3 jups and seems fine with it...although i bought this fancy asus router n that little shit would just freeze up...i'm hoping FW fixes it or its getting returned...good luck to you

Cheap netgear routers overheat with all 4 ports connected.
I use a cheap 8 way switch connected to just 1 port on the router.
Keep them cool and they will both be ok.

I have 10 Antminers S1 running Alan. The mishap occoured last night, while I was sleeping. Everything was running fine at 11:30 PM when I went to bed, woke up briefly at 02:36 AM, checked stats using my smartphone and discovered the internetconnection has been lost.  Since then it's all wrong.

Let me download the mining_proxy.exe again, just to be shure. Thanks for the suggestion on that. To be honest: don't know about the command line. When I started mining months and months ago I just downloaded the mining_proxy.exe, adjusted my miners and voila... off we went!  Grin

However, since the electrical wiring in our house went extremely hot new bigger wires were installed yesterday and the house was powerless for a few hours, causing power outage to the miners, obviously.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

maybe a kinda dumb noob question, sorry for that, but i wonder, if all blocks are mined and no new block(s) have been found, what are we actually doing then? I noticed yesterday (friday april 25) during a quite long time all blocks were solved and no new one was found yet. I'm just curious if we're mining of just wasting electricity.

Another quite newbe question about the etimated reward: when I was mining at 800 M/hash the estimate reward was about 0.025 or so. Then I went up to 1 T/hash and the estimate reward was about 0.025. So I upgraded to 1.2 T/hash and the estimate reward was about 0.025. Since yesterday I'm mining at 1.8 T/hash and the estimate reward is still about 0.025. Weird or what?

Thanks for your help,

Michael

No reason to create a new thread when there is a 48 page one here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=515448

I fail linked, 215 page sales thread. He's asking a company when they will have stock again, in an open forum rather than their actual thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=417159.0

...one would be afraid to ask a question.....

Any idea when the Antminer S1 will become available again?
12  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [850 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: March 30, 2014, 12:56:02 PM

Biggest threat is from these 'unknowns' like https://blockchain.info/blocks/137.117.202.26 - seems to have 8PT+

That IP address is owned by Microsoft.

Just something to keep in mind, blockchain records the node that first relayed the transaction to them.  It doesn't really know who originated the transaction.   Blocks mined from known public pools are marked that way, usually because blockchain attempts to stay in connection with them, and secondly, because most pools inscribe an ID sequence in the block.

That's correct.  It does look like that the person solving the block is the same person since the Coinbase signatures follow a similar pattern.  Not necessarily Microsoft of course since that owned IP is simply relaying, but seems rather odd that the same IP is relaying so many blocks.  Maybe it is a strategy for a big miner to hide their mining farm.  However, I don't know if it's possible to force your solved blocks to always be relayed first by the same IP.  Anyone have any information on this?

Maybe it's this guy / organisation:

I've just hooked up my new Antminer, that might cause the increase of groups' hashrate!   LOL!!!

Hi Y'all,

I'm a pretty new miner, only three weeks expericence. Today this happened (see picture)

Does anyone know why my shares are "none" and in the last line I've got shares, but the reward turns 0.000000?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks Dogie, let me try that. :-)    However I dont have the "Switch clock" button on my config screen. Would "Update/restart" do as well?
17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Almost there: "No Devices found" and "DNS 0.0.0.0" on: February 09, 2014, 06:35:53 PM
Hi ya'll

I'm almost there, just 2 problems to overcome, however they kept me busy this whole sunday.  ;-)

I bought a bunch of ASIC V2 blades, when approaching them the configuration screen reads on both primary as secundary DNS 0.0.0.0
My -on this matter not so educated guess- would be this isn't right, right? Didn't find a solution or answer so far, hence this message.

The second problem I ran into is the BFGminer, in big red characters it screams at me: NO DEVICES FOUND: press 'M' and '+' to add
Now I'm wondering if my DNS settings might have something to do with this.

Any help is HIGHLY appriciated, to be honest... I'm pretty desperated.    Almost like him:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAgyR9Gwcp0  (xept for the remote control action) or him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KImHU9TGOfU

Haha :-)  No really, I don't have the specific knowledge to solve this, so any help would be very helpfull, thanks in advance!

19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How reset V2 to default settings? on: February 07, 2014, 04:52:21 PM
Hi ya'll

I wonder, does anyone know how to reset the V2 blades to factory default?

Thanks,

Michael
