first, pick up a basic language like C. or you can go for python as it is much more useful yet easy to learn.. the important thing is to create basic concepts.
for learning your first language you can pick up youtube tutorials or some books for reference. but it won't matter much because you will only learn what you practice.
use geeksforgeeks.com  to practice and learn and then later shift to competitive coding on hackerrank or codechef.

I personally don't think that electric cars or vehicles are gonna add up much benefit as we do not use fuel in it but we still use electricity which is majorly produced by hydro plants that use fuels to make steam. so overall we still use fuel. haha... the vicious circle.
though if we use other methods to produce electricity it can be of great help.
and actually it is a good idea if we are able to use solar electricity as much as possible because it ain't ending.
